  1. Overwhelming joy can certainly bring about happiness. Mike Holcomb is the base singer, in this group. He and my wife are relatives from the same great grandmother. The Inspirations sing many good songs.

  3. GGGM, What are you doing still up after 1 o'clock?
  4. He's right, kc! I thought I liked you for some reason, and now I know why. You have a good dad.
  5. A real Drama Queen thinks every sickness they have is the worst the doctor has ever seen whether the doctor says so, or not. Every finder binder becomes a fiery crash in their retelling of it. Every comment made to them is either the, sweetest, warmest thing they have ever heard, or the rudest, most vicious attack imaginable. They can make drama out of watching paint dry. Being so easy to spot, it is wise to stay away from then, as far as possible.
  6. A silent investor can be a big help, but there are things more important. I have seen lottery winners have all the investment in the world that they need, but they cannot do anything close to what Brandon Fisher did. A lot of what is required in in good minds like yours, V P!
  7. Here ya go Blue! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTij4txO8Uk
  8. Small business owners can do very big things. Brandon Fisher has tried to avoid the publicity that comes with playing a key role in two of the last decade's biggest mine rescues. The small business owner from Berlin, Pennsylvania is a symbol of the American dream. Someone of modest means who has go on to do big things, should be proud. But, it is not men like Brandon Fisher who seeks publicity, and grandstands for what he does. This country is a place where you can make it if you try. We may have different backgrounds, but we believe in the same dream that that says to us anyth
  9. Because a society of people may not really know themselves, it is no reason for you to fall victim of the same situation. Being impressionable can cause you to lean toward someone else's way of thinking, when it may be very inappropriate. Not knowing yourself may lead you to all kinds of external information that is useless for being who you are. If we really know ourselves, who we are, what we believe, what we don't believe, what we are all about, then we wan't be allowing someone else, or something in the news, to define us from the outside in. We should not leave our door open for us to
  10. There's always going to be critics on everything, and in every way. Some people criticize others for the purpose of belittling, and that is their only desire. I like little animals, and even big ones. I also like people who's brains are small. I have a weakness for underdogs, and fat cats, whether their brain is pea size or not. I love ButterflyLion!
  11. Nurturing folks are valuable people, GP! I admire a person who cares about his fellow citizens. And, I admire your Signature, regarding freedom. The Chief Author of our Declaration of Independence put it this way: “I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.”
  12. The right education is, in my opinion, very helpful, Tt! We are not born with the wonderful information you have stored up in your mind. To not tell me what you know is depriving me of a life that is more fulfilled with reality, and good demeanor. You are right about telling me, or others, how to live. But, to set a good example is a good way to illustrate the scheme of things that can lead to a good life for more people than just ones self. I love to hear what you have to say. I would feel left out for not hearing such great strategy that adds to my goal for a better life. Knowing wh
  13. Thanks MC W D! But, it is Mark Twain that has inspired me. I am just a wannabe great person. I use The Postman's picture, and is name. I quote great people, like Mark Twain. But, I am just a wannabe, with no fame. Being very right is something I cannot claim.
  14. You believe that, Tt, because it is the truth. You stay away from lies. You don't need to keep such wonderful, and informative, reality only to yourself, Tt. It would be a great determent to your fellow citizens to be unaware of such a marvelous way to see life, and the kind of strategy that you know has worked for you, and has allowed you to enjoy life to its fullest extent. You speak so truthfully, Tt, that you should never keep quiet.
  15. I am a people person, but there are requirement. I just don't like mean people, and I keep away from them. I used to like to talk in the political thread, but I decided that I was just treated too mean. If I was glutting for punishment I would go back, but I don't glut for punishment. If a person is just in a crazy mood, and making me laugh, I like them. But, they should not be too crazy, because It starts to annoy me. Then there is the in between ones, the sweet ones, the lonely ones, and the bitter ones. I like to communicate with them. Sometimes I feel sweet, and sometimes I feel
  16. Mark Twain saw a lot of bigoted behavior when he was alive. There was a lot of people who thought they were great, in his time, but they were not great by the standards he set for himself. In his time there was people who didn't want their fellow citizens, nor their slaves, to be as big as they were. They wanted other people to be small, and would belittle any ambition to get ahead, or to become great at anything. The same holds true, to a certain extent, today. “Keep away from those who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you belie
  17. That is a good attitude to have, in my opinion, Tt! I am familiar with your attitude, too! I used to talk to you, a lot, before I started staying over in the political forum, and not coming into the cafe. You helped me see things that I couldn't see, but I was had my ways and couldn't change to your way of thinking. It's not that I didn't know you were right, but that my habitual behavior would not stop. Thank you for your good intentions with me!
  18. Kindness can be devastating to a persons well being. Parents of handicapped children, for example, will sometimes communicate to their children that they lack the capacity to deal with a "normal" world. The parent's fear is justified, because they are afraid that their children will be bullied or hurt somehow. But, the desire to protect the child may give rise to an adult who is more handicapped than they would have been had their parents not been so fearful of their well being as a child. A concept of weakness and fear has been developed, and can be worse than the physical handicap is in itse
  19. If General Grant was a victim of his superiors playing politics with the law, in 1862; I am wondering if our superiors can play politics with the law, today. Look back at post #3. Dale Carnegie stated that General Grant was victimized due to his superiors playing politics with the law. How common is this trait?
  20. Yes, Epiphany, and he also said, "If you hate me I will continue to love you." That was Kierkegaard.
  21. It seems to me that Thomas Jefferson knew what he was talking about, every time he spoke. But, I admire another of our forefathers to just as high a degree. One day, according to my readings from some a Dale Carnegie book, when Benjamen Franklin was a blundering youth, an old Quaker friend took him aside and lashed him with a few stinging truths, something like this: "Ben, you are impossible. Your opinions have a slap in them for everyone who differs with you. They have become so expensive that nobody cares for them. Your friends find they enjoy themselves better when you are not a
  22. There are two types of labeling, Tt! Jack Johnson has one type down to a tee. The type he has described is when you allow someone else to define you based on how they perceive you. But, there is another type. It's when a person has judge themselves and accepted that judgment as a lasting belief about their self-worth. Both types of labeling are nothing but voodoo to a person's well being. Thanks for your reply, Tt!
  23. Dale Carnegie says, "Remember That No One Ever Kicks A Dead Dog." This kind of label is not bad, even if he is calling you a dog, if you understand what Mr. Carnegie is saying. General Grant was arrested, which kicked him so bad that he wept with humiliation and despair. In 1862, he had won the first great decisive victory that the North had enjoyed - a victory that was achieved in one afternoon, a victory that made Grant a national idol overnight - a victory that had tremendous repercussions even in far=off Europe - a victory that set church bells ringing and bonfires blazing from
