I am disappointed that you think that one man could make people clean up their own private property....REALLY? Maybe you should familarize yourself with the Paulding County Code of Ordinance. Mr. Austin has done a great job since he has came into office considering the County Budget was in serious distress with revenues being at their all time lowest and trying to balance the budget while keeping the level of services for the citizens where they are at. We longtime residents of Burnt Hickory will welcome the Dollar General store in the Burnt Hickory Community the same way we "HAD" to welcome all the subdivisions that were built. Our family along with many other families have been land owners in Burnt Hickory since the 1800's. Most the road names you see in Burnt Hickory are our family names. I bet most people in the subdivisions don't even know where the name "Burnt Hickory" came from. Dont waste your time or money, this was approve in 1991. When did you build your house? I live walking distance from it and welcome the store. I would much rather see a nice store than junk cars, trailers and firewood for sale. Plus it will offer EMPLOYMENT to our community!

State DOT will only allow a right in and right out because Dollar General dosen't want to add a turn lane off 61. That is why most all of your Dollar Generals only have a right in and right out. It would require them buying right of way from the people on 61.

This is time for homeowners in a community to become pro-active. Don't rely on the bank holding the abandoned property or the government to come "rescue" the property of its weeds and tall grass. If the residents can see it then they should go cut it and clean up. A bank in California could care less if the grass on 50 vacant lots is tall or if the silt fence is hanging over the curb. Well said..... Most people complaining are homeowners in sudivisions....so they contributed to it become a "bedroom community". Unlike our familys who have been here for over 100 years. I have seen my greedy cousins sell off their inherited portion of land that our great grandparents owned back in the early 1900's to a developer and now we have to look at subdivisions.

If its legalized then the drug pushers wouldn't have any reason to "push it"....it would put them out of business. You never hear of anyone "stoned" robbing or murdering. They are to mellowed out to do it....they just want to eat. It could still be illegal to drive because they would be DUI.

And people want to complain about how dirty Paulding County roads are.....Its your fault! I have to pick up trash on the right of way in front of my house all year long because of lazy people who can't clean their cars out when they get home or go by a carwash. I would flip you off too! We only eat deer ground....some people cringe when they hear that but its a whole lot better than getting it from a cow thats been shots up with setroids and is sick with diarrhea right before they slaughter it. Deer is all natural and so much better for you....
