  1. If you are running Vista, by all means install Win7, the upgrade was very easy. It takes about 45 minutes to complete on a fast machine to complete. Everything I had that worked with Vista, worked with Win7. If you have WinXP, it will require a FULL install for Win7. Not for the faint of heart and everything not backed up will be lost.
  2. The current building already has one of the most high tech radiology centers in the Southeast. And this building will be directly connected to the new hospital.
  3. Me too. I said this once in a bar (when I was much younger) and got slapped!
  4. I hear there's a jumping bar out Hwy 120 near the the County line going West!
  5. Good, sounds like you have your bases covered. The actual damage to your credit will not be known for several months. But since you started this process before "distressed" or late with the payments, the hit may not as bad as normal. Get the sale closed as quickly as possible. Some of the industry reports I've been reading lately are not pretty for short sales and loan mods. Looks like we may be headed to the only way this may be done is by court order. It's sad that it may come to this as the lenders are starting to fight back. Good Luck!
  6. Did anyone report this to the County? Or just complain about it here? Send Commission Chairman Davis Austin an email at DAustin@paulding.gov and I'm sure he will have it taken care of right away!
  7. This is not always true. It depends on how the Short Sale is negotiated with the lender or lenders (if there is a 2nd or even a 3rd mortgage). The lender(s) have the right to file a deficiency judgment against you if you do not negotiate that at the beginning.... and get it in writing. A short sale can ding your credit score for 200 or more points, but a foreclosure will hit it for 300+ and with new HUD rules you will be prohibited from getting a new mortgage for 2 or 3 years. But if you are going to do a short sale, do it quickly as most bank are making it very difficult to do. It was ne
  8. I was going to get involved with this, until I found out it was a fund raising even for the Paulding GOP. When I inquired, no one could give me a straight answer. And being an ex-LEO, I do not feel the 2 events should go together!
  9. It's clear from Acworth to Douglasville.
  10. Avoid the Austell area completely. Sweetwater creek will get a lot worse before it gets better.
  11. Let's not forget that Miami ended up with the same record as Atlanta did last year. They are pretty close ranked teams right now. They are no push over. This game could have gone the other way many times.
  12. Great game with a classy ending! No need to risk getting anyone hurt when you have won the game!
  13. I agree, but you can be arrested for taking down a politicial sign of any kind without written permission from the person who's name is on the sign. So be careful if you do.
  14. Pubby, I did not talk about ANY business or situation in my above post. My comment was in general and not this situation you speak of. I'm strictly talking about the general attitude this forum presents. I've been around this site a very long time, just don't post that much compared to others here. But this attitude of the "Paid" member is always right and all others shall be struck down if they speak out, has been going on for a long time. I fully understand that it's your site and your rules. And if this site does not make money it will go away. Kinda like the very first version of pcom
  15. One thing would be to NOT remove/hide/delete posts when someone is asking legimate questions to a business, even if it hurts. It may be hard to believe to some in "pcom land", but some "businesses" out there do not have their client's best interests in mind! Some are border line criminal. But if the pay for a commercial membership here, they may market to their hearts content without anyone being able to question their methods or motives! Just doesn't give me any faith in any paid commercial member here! But I guess this will just get deleted like the rest?
  16. Colonial's C&D order was just issued a couple of weeks ago when the deal with TB&W fell apart. Colonial was never taken over, but was sold to BB&T. It had been for sale for several months anyway. The FDIC never took control of the company. The branch manager of the Hiram branch is a good friend and what she told me is in line with what I've been reading in related industry websites. Not everything posted in cnn.com has been correct (go figure). Word has it that FDIC is now out of money (as far as purchasing banks that are failing) and may not be taking control of any more bank
  17. These 2 banks were hit with the order back in April. If they were in real trouble they would have been closed by now. No need to worry now since they are still open.
  18. New database program. Give it some time.
  19. Watch the latest BOC meeting and you will see the new rail spur with heavy industrial project coming to the spray field areas. Phase 1 includes a 500K sq ft building and 2 - 300K sq ft buildings.
  20. It's waiting final approval from the feds and then we have to find some way to fund the construction. The latest estimate I heard was over $200 million and will take at least 5 years.
  21. The scope of this first venture is limited to begin with. But if successful, and as the economy begins to improve there are additional projects the BOC wants GT to help with. This is a very good deal for Paulding!
  22. He has been Chairman of the Paulding Airport Authority for a couple of years, my guess is he will use what he has helped bring to Paulding.
  23. The resort is 20 years down the road at best. But it does include plans for a convention center, entertainment centers, golf course, senior housing and much more. If you read more about the whole project, about 5,000 acres will be reserved for additional greenspace. I use the zoning map all the time. It's a great tool and is updated (or use to be) about every 4 to 6 months, when we had a lot of rezoning going on. And once you learn how to read the rezoning application numbers, you can look up in the BOC Meeting Minutes archive to find out a lot about selected properties. And yes, it does
  24. You are correct. Most of it surrounds the airport to the South, but there are a few tracts North of Hwy 278. There use to be a map on the Chamber's website, but I just looked and they do not have the same map up.
  25. This is absolutely the best place to start! They help the Chamber with their programs last year, but the Chamber could not get the funding needed to keep it going. Good people with really great classes!
