  1. We just purchased a used waterbed, then searched all over for a new liner, conditioner and fill kit and found that rather than spend hours looking it was much cheaper and a lot less time consuming to buy it via Ebay. After reasearching for the best prices and reliability in sellers we purchased ours from the seller named .... allbargains4u they deliver right to your door within a couple of days and took the hassel out of traffic worries and dealing with the heat!!! :D

Thanks Evie! I had a feeling...

  2. My son talked me into a twin size water bed. We bought it off of craigslist. It's in perfect condition and is working fine. However, I was planning on getting the conditioner in quickly after filling the thing and I don't know where to buy it. I've only tried Wally World so far. But if they don't have it, who does?

  3. Usually volunteers move around at will...I understand their are a few very violent dogs up their right now...so there may be some added restrictions.

But before this gets out of hand, a dog who snaps at a person who puts their hand in itsface is not in a position where it needs it's life saved... Please remember the Shelter staff care deeply about the animals staying there and understand animal behavior. Animals who are not returned to their owners are those who maul and are extremely violent... This pup will be fine...we just need to help it's guardian through the ordeal!

Sorry. My passion exceeds it's need sometimes. Thanks for the info. ^_^

  4. MizCue, can we go back to visit her pup if it's back in "that" section? I would if I could. I mean, I will if I can. If I were your friend, I'd be sure to visit as often as possible. It might be harder on her baby but at least the staff/volunteers at the shelter can see the other side of this pup. If she never visits, they will only see a scared, possibly vicious dog. If she shows up and they see her disposition when she's not terrified, it might help to save her life. Also, as an appraiser for many years I've had to approach many fences (sometimes a neighboring fence) to get a measurement of an out building or to get a decent photo of the house, etc. I'd be hard pressed to find a dog that scares me. Still, I know to respect the boundaries set by that fence and to use caution with even the friendliest of dogs. Just like us, they are individuals and we have no idea what might press a button for them. If I had been so bold as to put my hand in a fence, and I won't lie, I have.... (just can't resist, sometimes they seem so desperate for attention)...and if I had been bitten, I would've never been able to tell a soul. I would've been too ashamed of my own stupidity and poor judgment of character and I would never put a dog in that position when I was invading it's territory. Blast away but I just wouldn't blame the animal in any way in that situation. And I would never report the dog IN THAT SITUATION. My hand would almost need to be reattached for me to seek medical attention to the dog's detriment. Unless this dog is a cranky old fart, this woman may have approached in a very wrong manner. <_< Dogs almost always let you know if they have a problem with you encroaching on their space.P.S. If there is any way possible, she needs to move her pup to her vet's office!

  5. Pepper - Black Lab/Dalmation mix.....thinks she's mama to Sadie. She was in a bad situation at 4 weeks old so we took her.

Roscoe - Blue Merle Great Dane........just happy to be here. From JPR (winner of biggest dog @ Doggy Dash '07  )

SADIE - Black Lab...........................spazmania/lovey girl. From Paulding Animal Shelter..thanks to all who gave her hope in her darkest hours!!!! (Thanks to lovemuppet, nicki13, Nemie and Steve, and others that I don't know)

Freckle - Black and White kitty....sweatheart. One of five kittens birthed on my bed! Mama cat found us while "with children". Then she got too sick to care for them. We tried hard but mama didn't make it. RIP beautiful Alaska.

    All rescues.

  6. Katcol, your dogs are all lovely. My gosh it was so great to see Sadie. She is a different dog from her shelter days when we worried so about her. Sadie is happy happy happy and that is all thanks to you and your wonderful family.

    Nemie

Awww  Thanks for the kind words. Sadie is growing! Took these tonight. I'll try to sneek one of Roscoe in. It's the look he gave me when I asked if he wanted to go out in the heat..lol.

You guys have us beat in the most beautiful, most happy catagory. We missed Bentley

and Brit. I guess you guys had your hands full as it was. :D

  7. Hi all. We really brought up the rear. Sorry we missed most of you. Sadie sure was happy to see Nemie and Steve! They made friends fast with those yummy treats! Even our psycho dog, Pepper, took a treat from Steve once she realized how good they were. That says a lot for her.

Thanks to all of you who worked through the heat to make it a special day. You're all troopers!

  8. Our daughter wants that Dane! It's beautiful. I hope the Lab finds a home. Can you post a picture?

His owners found him. Angela made them promise to get his heartworm treatments and to have his sister checked as well. She will be watching out for him. That's my niece!! Joflo, if this dane wonders the streets again anytime soon, he might need a witness relocation program. Then we might need to speak to your daughter :o.

Highjack over. I keep doing that recently. Sorry.

  9. Bless you and your hubby! Sounds like you have a wonderful dog, there. Are you certain that your little pup can't be desensitized to the lab? She may just be really intimidated right now. You guys know her best...but sometimes our pups find us for all the right reasons. Here is what showed up on my niece's doorstep two days ago. He was instantly a part of the family. This was highly unusual due to the rareness of the dog and the totally rural area they live in. Ya never know!

Edited to say: They have had him scanned..no chip. He has an expensive heart worm treatment ahead of him. She's already had the vet check all this out. I guess that's why he was out on his own. <_<

  10. Great pictures! She's beautiful. The kids may never get to meet another dog as big as your girl. That's great that you guys could let them meet her.

We thought about taking our "horse", Roscoe, in to visit a class. He's very calm also.

P.S. Roscoe is actually heavier than your Penny :o He's weighing in over 160 now. A far cry from the bony 119 when we got him. Dr. Lugar says he can cut back now .

Penny still gets biggest dog, though...'cause of her pretty doo and all. Just love her!
