Mikey replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We ran out of candy about 45 minutes ago. I just went out to walk the dog, and there are still kids out there. -

They're out and about now. -
Well, as it's Halloween, our subdivision and our many fine and sane residents are celebrating Halloween tonight.

We were driving back home from dinner at a friend's house and noted about 2-3 families trick-or-treating in Mill Pointe around 7:30. The vast majority of homes were "lights out." Glad that we aren't being herded into multiple nights of trick-or-treating. October 31st is the date for Halloween. If it's a problem with your religion, then 1) don't let your children trick or treat at all, or 2) if it's a matter of principle that your religious services take precedence over Halloween, make the sacrifice and skip Halloween this year. That will teach your children about principles and about

If anyone here in the Mill Pointe subdivision reads this post, can you please PM me the name of the person in our subdivision who unilaterally decided that trick or treating would take place tonight? What nerve.

Exactly. I assumed the hotel! LOL. So many years have passed, some things just fade away.

This military spending and constant warfare are bankrupting us.

Just FYI, but you wouldn't need MARTA at all- only the GRTA Xpress bus-- and it's very comfortable and friendly.

I'm surprised he was stopped. The rest of us travel through there at 75 or higher -- in the right lane, of course, as the slow drivers are in the left lane.

The Omni is right next to the WCC

Spring and Marietta is less than 3 blocks from the WCC. If you don't know downtown Atlanta, just take the bus. The rest of us who drive in that traffic all the time to get to and from work don't need a driver who i unfamiliar with the traffic slowing us up! LOL

The 477 stops at Spring and Marietta in the morning and picks up in the afternoon/evening in front of the former Atlanta Journal building on Spring Street (100 Spring, I think).

I figured a post on grammar would serve as a litmus test. Posts on grammar tend to bring some life to the party. This place has been so dull for the past month or so. Is anybody out there? Hello? BTW, I haven't criticized any particular poster in this topic. The post is just a general observation. -

One can only take so much! Why is it that self-improvement is not acceptable? I appreciate it when people point out mistakes so I can learn from those mistakes. When it comes to grammar, people just do not want to take the time to improve their skills. The Ma and Pa Kettle days are over, folks. Bookstores and the internet are overflowing with grammar instruction. Using bad grammar is akin to having bad teeth. You cringe when the offending party speaks. There. I said it! -
I just can't bear it any longer, folks. Please stop using "seen" in any form other than the participle, that is, "I HAD seen her yesterday when ...". Also, "went" is NOT a participle. "She had went." should be "She had GONE." OI. Learn to love participles and their proper use. While we're on the subject of grammar, doesn't anybody use the subjunctive mood anymore? OK. I have finished venting. Adios.
