And the greenspace and the new park and the soon to be multi million dollar law suit
-
Hey Tom if you want to pick a fight with the commissioners in order to improve the viewer ship on your web site where you can compete with pubby then forget about the movie deal it has a chance to be profitable. The Surepip law suit being delayed by the Commissioners is nothing but a bottomless pit. That should be what the AFP and you should be harping about? PS how are your PAlS Jerry and Virgina doing these days?

LPPT I really think that she got laid off because the Jerry Shearin Commission and now the David Austin commission have elected to spend Millions to keep Surepip from having his day in court. As this case drags on hundreds of thousands of more tax dollars will be thrown into this bottomless pit, with more appeals and more delays. Lets get this case heard by the Commissioners and let a jury of both sides make the decision. Such a waste of tax payer dollars, which has now turned into the loss of jobs,Furlough days and the inability of the County Commissioners to even balance the budget thi

Did SCOTUS rule on this?

I had surgery in both eyes,One turned out perfect and my vision improved dramatically. The other was a Nightmare and went totally blind the next day and remained that way for weeks due to taking medication for prostate enlargement. I had been off this medication for over a year prior to surgery and it still had the adverse effect.I still have not recovered full eye sight in that eye some three years later

Since you choose to bash the messanger did you read this article. http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D9MSLK0G2.htm And i will give credit where it is due in this article http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-politics-elections/governor-freezes-gas-tax-987023.html Yep just a few short months later Deal did use his executive power to prevent another tax increase. And here is another article http://chronicle.augusta.com/latest-news/2011-05-06/ga-gas-tax-politicians-point-fingers

I really know what you are going through, And it is very tough on you and your family. Do know that more people are supporting you than what are posting on this Board. I am quite sure that at some point in time the Board of Commissioners will pay the political price for electing to lay off County workers, reduce working days/hours of the Sheriff's etc. Where they can spend millions just to keep you out of court. It is indeed a travesty, that over a million in tax dollars has been spent, And the merits of the original suit has yet to even be scheduled to be heard in court. Do kn

Due -dilegence thanks for posting this informative information I did a little google on it and discovered that all of drops attributed to the Points 10 worst days occured while a REPUBLICAN was in the White House. And you have eleven listed in the largest percentage drops of which Eight occured when either GHW Bush or W Bush occupied the White House. One in which Bill Clinton was in the White House for four months, And two Under the Obama White House which occured after the TEA PARTY Terroized the congress. I knew that I always suffered more under a Republican President BUT...... Ihad -
Has Mr. Cole and the school board done the right thing
WHITEY replied to WHITEY's topic in RECENT TOPICS
He announced it at the commissioner meeting and you can see the video on the fastread page. Indeed it is nice when some of our Local leaders do what is right. -
Paulding County Board of Education has proposed a reduction in the school tax millage rate. Most of the P.com members will recall that Superintendent Cole and the School Board made a commitment to the property owners of Paulding County that if they would pass the most recent SPLOST tax that he would eliminate the School Bond portion of the tax for the next five years. This past Tuesday Mr. Cole announced that they would live up to that commitment and that no property owners would be assessed a tax for the School Bonds, And that the Board would use the SPLOST tax dollars for the next five yea

El Zorro Where you been? Obviously you have not lived in the County very long? There was a referendum on the ballot for funding of two items, An Airport and a reservoir. The citizens decided that the reservoir would bring more economic growth to the area. Some people on this board have short memories, we were told time and again that no county tax dollars would be used, yet we find out later than and as recent as today that such is not the case. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in salaries have been spent, and continue to be spent today trying to prop up a failed venture by

Dear Mr Commissioners, what a disappointment you are
WHITEY replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Pubby... I do not believe the entire Board of Commissioners agreed to file an appeal. I realize this was done in a closed session meeting, However any conclusion reached in the closed session should have been reported out upon reconvening at the regular session. Furthermore the minutes of that meeting reflects nothing occured "no action taken" A further review of the minutes that is posted on line does not reveal that another meeting occured......At least nothing has been posted? State law prevents the Commissioners from holding secret meetings and then not providing minutes of what occure -

This does not appear to be legal to me? But....... a lot of things went on during that adminstration that did not appear to be legal? -

My point is the County has spent over one million TAX dollars and obviously are still not ready to hear the case, I have no idea of all the facts of this claim, But I do know that after five years and over a million TAX dollars the County should be ready to proceed with the case. Sorry El Zorro we do know that the County is in violation of the anti Slapp law and has been so ruled on by Judge Beavers -
Dear Mr Commissioners, what a disappointment you are
WHITEY replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No I do not feel that the County should use Tax Dollars to make a settlement just for the sake of saving money. I also do not feel that the County should use Tax dollars to drag a case out through the courts. Keep in mind now that just recently the County has offered to pay half of the attorney fees that surepip has encountered and then turned around and filed an appeal on all of the attorney fee's that Judge Beavers adwarded him. This makes no sense to me, And what makes less sense is this same Board of Commissioners who made a previous offer,Now wants to spend another couple hund -

El Zorro Are you okay with the County spending $947,316.39 to one law firm and another $150,000 plus to another law firm and still not ready to hear the case? -

Pubby posted two written rulings on this case this month they are on the fast read thread, I am also aware that a judge or two had to recluse themselves from the case after motions were filed. LET THE CASE BE HEARD ASAP -
Dear Mr Commissioners, what a disappointment you are

El Zorro First How can anyone justify spending one million dollars on a zoning claim and not even been to court on that item?? Secondly Surepip is asking for a jury to decide what his damages are, That is the American way is it not? I attended the last hearing, And heard the County's Arguements, And if I were a juror I would have come to the same conclusion that Judge Beavers did. I was at the original zoning hearing over six years ago (On another zoning issue) And I am completely aware of the chaos that ensued at those meetings. I have also visited Surepip and seen the land marke -

Do you really think that a zoning case Should take five years to be heard in a Court of Law, Do you really believe that the County needs to spend one million tax dollars on a zoning case. -
Dear Mr Commissioners, what a disappointment you are
WHITEY replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Surepip I can only echo your discontent with the way that this Board of Commissioners has handled this litigation, And I am quite sure that at some point in time that the citizens of Paulding County will rise up and say enough is enough. I find it amazing that after this administration has had to increase millage rates the past two years to pay for the errors in judgment by the previous administration that this administration has continued to throw TAX DOLLARS into this bottomless pit??? August 9th,The Board of Commissioners have a decision to make they will either have to raise milla -

Judge tells Paulding county to pay $265,113.68 instantly
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
This has indeed been a long drawn out affair, And I am glad that Judge Beavers ruled on behalf of the Morrison's I believe that it is now incumbent upon the Board of Commissioners, To move the remainder of this civil case forward,And do either one of two things. (1) The remaning portion of this civil case should be heard in a court of law with a jury making the final decision as to the damages done by the defendants ASAP. (2) The County should settle the case out of court satisfactory to all parties involved ASAP. This case has been drug out entirely too long, At the expense of th
