  1. Since the fuel tax is based in part on the price of a gallon of gas,Please show a chart, Or something that supports the allegation that the fuel tax has not increased
  2. . I sure hope you are wrong on the above quote. It is my understanding that a majority of the citizens within the region have to approve this TAX INCREASE!!!!!!
  3. PastNFront Do you recall the Hearings that were held before Congress during the Bush adminstration? I do present during those hearings were the CEO's of Ford GM, Chrysler and the President of the UAW, Those hearings dragged on for days/weeks and finally President Bush and his adminstration gave GM and Chrysler a loan until the then Elected President Obama took office. The Republicans would not even think about bailing them out at that time. Senator Corker,Sessions, And others stressed the need for a STRUCTURED BANKRUPTCY, And that was what occured. The salaried folks had a seperate Pension Fu
  4. ca2ga Just so you know the Delphi bankruptcy is what this thread was originally about. Not the TARP bailout. Here is the information on Delphi http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/07/business/07delphi.html Went bankrupt under Bush
  5. You either failed to read my post or did not understand it? I made plenty of sacrifices and will make even more in the very near future.
  6. Pubby First off the salaried employees of GM had the same option as the Union employees …… They could have formed a Union and received the same representation at the bargaining table that the Union members did. Fact is they chose not to become a represented, Andover the years received much better wages and benefits than the unionized workers. As noted, Delphi (formerly A/C Delco Harrison Radiator etc.) was once the component division of GM that was spun off years before the Bush/Obama bailout of the auto industry, And in fact Delphi had declared bankruptcy at least a year before TARP was e
  7. JJ you will be in my prayers.
  8. I have had the shingles since the first of July, And it has been very painful at times. I sure wish that I had got the shot, regardless of the cost
  9. This thread reminds me a lot about how certain posters in this forum who ran to the defense of the former speaker of the House of the State of Georgia when news first broke about his womanizing with Lobbyists. My opinion of Mr. Cain is that he has been caught up with, And that he will pay the Political price for his actions.
  10. This does not suprise me a lot of improper things were raised during the election,Yet she still received 2/3 of the vote in the General election and defeated the incumbent in the primary. She was the Tea party darling of the local tea party,They got what they voted for
  11. Had a lot of them from Miss georgia on Boulevard in Atlanta
  12. The land was bought from Bleakley and was going to be a PRD, And could not get it rezoned. The land was again sold to another developer and was going to be rezoned again, And this rezoning was not approved. The County bought the land for about $3,000,000 from that developer, And made the park.
  13. Yes I have made some post in the garden section When I first joined ( The reason I joined) I made many post on the housing boom in Paulding County And several post on the School Bond, Fire tax levy,Courthouse, Green space, Air port etc. I mostly post in the political forum now I have always been involved in politics. As a norm I am pretty nice, And only respond when attacked, Which has been quite often lately If i am irritating you that much do you know how to use the ignore button?
  14. Well Tabby cat I am sorry about the punctuation at 72 years old I doubt it will get any better. And you are certaintly entitled to your opinion of me, Just like I am entitled to my opinions Like you I also bought a home that I could afford, and paid on it for thirty years and never missed a payment, Nor was I late on any Payments. I also worked very hard all my life, saved a few dollars, invested some and until 2008 was pretty much set for the rest of my life. I paid into Social Security and Medicare, In other words I played by the rules paid my taxes that was required of me and I
  15. I did not really think it was an attack just wishing the same thing on you that you wished on me Knowing you and others on this board I am sure you will join the TEA PARTY rally against Tim Lee who raised revenue in order to end furlough days for Cobb COUNTY WORKERS
  16. It would be oh so funny to me if the tea party elected five new commissioners in cob county and reduced the taxes on every citizen in the county to the point that every single service the county provides would have to be cut 50% and all county workers would have to pay all the monies for health care and have at least two furlough days per week, No vacation benefits, And no sick days And in order to fix the mess Grover Marquis would have to sign off on any tax increases
  17. You were close to this in 2000 through 2006 and look what it got you
  18. alright let me se if I can explain obviously you jumped into the middle of this thread and have failed to read about the many things that Obama did. When Obama took office we were faced with a near depression and the stock market had plunged at one point in the Dow to the 6,000 + range, through the leadership of his adminstration and prior to the fisaco on Aug 2,2010 the dow was nearing the 13,000 range the market had confidence in his leadership and was showing it in almost daily gains, People was near recovering the losses that they occured in 2008. In addition to the market loss prior
  19. personal attacks HA Show me a bill that the Party of no, And the TEA PARTY has introduced this session of congress,to deal with the jobs issue?
  20. You continue to miss the part where the deal that Boehner had with the president he could not get enough votes from his gang to even bring it to the floor, And Cantor and Coburn walked out on negotiations more than once. Do know that the deal that was finally passed is what caused the crash on Wall Street the following day, and continues as I type today, do you remember Speaker Boehner saying I got 98% of what I was asking for and it caused the crash and the down grade?
  21. Sory to disappoint you, But I can may a determination of how smart you are by simply reading your post. Anyone with one eye and half sense knows that the party of no and the TEA PARTY will not pass any bill that will create jobs. BTW the week after labor day this will become apparent to even the dumbest Republican and TEA PARTIER
  22. Don;t hurt me, I would not hsve wanted to vote for the compromise bil either, I would have wanted deeper cuts and some new revenue, This is what caused the markets to collaspe Hell all Obama Wanted was the smae thing that the Democrats gave Regan, If we had got that same deal,we would not have Wall Street in the mess that it is today. No one on the Rpublican side wanted to tax the Milliopnaire and Billionaires. Made no difference whether they were TEA PARTY or not, Most have signed the Grover Norquist pledge and they knew if they voted to raise revenue then they woild hav a primary opponen
