  1. Yeah, Thornton was closed earlier this morning, trying to get to I-20.
  2. I posted, but it didn't make it, my cable keeps going off and on.............. I've never seen it like this. When I was growing up it used to flood in Powder Springs in the spring, but we expected that. I've never seen rain like this, ever. We're stuck with a system right on top of us and no relief is expected until TOMORROW sometime. Joe had to make 3 detours trying to get to I-20 this morning about 4:30. Once he got onto I-75 going south, no rain. I feel so bad about everyone losing property, and basements and all the flooding in general. We're on a hill,
  3. I can't believe they didn't close Cobb. My husband had to try 3 different routes getting to I-20 this morning. Powder Springs on 278 was closed when he left about 4:30. I gotta figure out my route later for work. I wouldn't get out until daylight if it were me. 4. Please don't say that! OMG, I hope not, although we saw one down in Hiram today. I told my husband this afternoon we're so fortunate there's no wind involved. And I'm glad there's not a hurricane out there just waiting to come this way and blow the trees down. I've had 9 NIXLE reports since 7:13P of road closures. And it's just pouring here. Hwy 61 South at Paul Aiken I feel sorry for those folks that live in town where the sewers are flooding everybody's homes.
  5. Specking of Miss Jesse, I saw her yesterday at the Walmart. She was sweet as she could be, in good spirits and just gotten off dialysis. I asked how she was feeling, she goes 3 times a week for dialysis. I told her it was good to see her out and about!
  6. To be a little more updated, I like this, I have it on CD Blue Note Records/started in the 1930's Cantaloupe Flip Fantasia 1993 Herbie Hancock did Cantaloupe also. 1964
  7. Anybody remember "Picnic", I know I'm showing my age. God, how I love this scene with Kim Novac and William Holden Moonglow/Theme from Picnic I have it on a 45 and the album. Moonglow First, an important distinction must be made: the exotica standard, in this case, is the combination of these two songs, not each song on its own. "Moonglow" had been around since the 1930s, and was a hit for Benny Goodman's quartet, among others. But in the 1955 film, "Picnic," it was played as the backdrop to a scene of Kim Novak and William Holden dancing at a Kansas town picnic.
  8. I called: $129 non-refundable fee $53 a month That's just for me!
  9. I love big bands, swing bands. Glenn Miller especially. Love to listen to Benny Goodman. I know that's not what you had in mind, but I grew up listening to it from my mom. I love Frank Sinatra too. String of Pearls-Glenn Miller
  10. I love this one, and it's another Olivia w/John Travolta
  11. I think she was more addicted to Bobby Brown than drugs!
  12. This is what brought it to mind: When Singers Can't Sing Their Songs Anymore HERE
  13. I'm glad her mama took the sherrif to her house and told her he was there for her, and Boddy too if he wanted to go and act crazy. She told her you're coming with me back to LA. "I want my little girl back". It was a long time coming and I can feel her pain. She was on TV ABC last week singing "I'm Everywoman", and I love her to death and I'm glad she's started over, but.... Houston had her career revival coming out party earlier this month on TV's "Good Morning America." Her voice decided to stay home. In true entertainer fashion, she left the high notes for the audience to
  14. Thank you!! I keep saying I can't wait until I retire so I can do some kind of crap, I mean crafts. I love creating things. Really, it's so theraputic.
  15. NEW PHOTOS ADDED TODAY 10-10-09. I FIGURED I WOULD ADD 'EM TO THIS TOPIC SINCE THIS HAS BEEN AN ON-GOING PROJECT. WE WENT TO SEE FOTOGIRL TODAY AND SHE GOT SOME REALLY GOOD SHOTS!! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HER WORK! THANKS GIRL!! ******************************************************************************** ************************************************************** I've started on the silver inserts tonight, tomorrow 6 buttons down each side, and my search for more zippers. And I think I've found someone willing to sew on 18 zippers!
  16. And I call BULLSH*T! They put him in a storm drain so he would drown and be swept away with the water and never found. Why else would you put anything in a storm drain? (rhetorical question only)
  17. And to think of the money I spent on my daughter for ballet learning to "point"
  18. It's not ATTEMPTED anymore. The baby died RIP You know, animals don't even do this, what kind of people can do such a thing!!!
  19. I looked at the one off Mars Hill, it could actually be on my way to work. They have a 7-day pass, but I can't find a membership fee. Since when did the YMCA's get so fancy??? Anyway, I need to do the same type of therapy for my hip and my back. I'll call tomorrow and see what I can find out.
  20. I went and it was packed. I had one thing on my mind: black penny loafers Found 'em! $4.00 I'm working on his red jacket tonight.
  21. Don't know who it was that made that statement.........But I consider it an ignorant statement. Having been on both sides I would say it's much easier working for someone else. Benefits provided When you do your 8 and walk out, you leave the job behind and you get a regular paycheck. As opposed to having your own capital invested in your business and working 20+ hour days. Been there, done that.
  22. Check out the shoes! Went to Goodwill and found the perfect pair of black penny loafers. $4.00 And the funny thing is, Jordan loves them, he may wear them to school. Check out his point!
  23. He's got Michael down to every little move and "woo-hoo" I've got to get the zippers and cording on the jacket and find some tight black pants & cheap penny loafers, going by the Goodwill today. His hair is beautiful but not long enough, thinking about getting a few extensions. This is going to be good! This is what I've got to do to the jacket:
  24. I'm working on my grandson's. He's going to be MJ, and it's going to be good. I got the red leather jacket the other day. Got the glove and the Fedora hat. If I can get it together you can do him.
