My granny had a wooden dough bowl and she always mixed biscuits witt her hands with fresh buttermilk she had churned.

Making biscuits is easy. I never measure but I use White Lily self rising flour, Crisco and buttermilk. Buttermilk makes all the difference. Cream Crisco with a fork into the flour until it's completely mixed. Add the buttermilk until the mix is wet. I hate dry biscuits. Put flour on your hands and roll and put on a greased pan. You want the oven hot around 400. They're done when they Brown. Gravy? I love gravy, especially after you've fried chicken. My gravy is brown because I burn the flour and grease a little and use milk. My grandaddy made The Best Sawmill gravy.
