Too costly. ATMs already have built-in cameras anyway; and too late (after the fact). A reverse PIN (or add-on number) would at least delay a dispensing of cash, allowing additional time for cops to be dispatched and be on the scene sooner (thus potentially saving a life). A potential robber has no true idea how your PIN may be configured, so if you remain calm you can at least get the signal out there. Finally, implementing such a plan is a simple programming/code change--which could be applied as an update to existing ATMs--is both highly cost-effective and efficient.
