  1. Female caller complains deer crossing signs 'encouraging deer to cross' are the cause of her frequent collisions with the animals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFCrJleggrI
  2. Apparently, this is also something that the banking industry is considering.

  6. Did you know there was a vaccination for that...
  7. And to me, that just doesn't make ANY sense whatsoever! It seems like if there's the possibility that implementing the technology might save just ONE life, then they would be all over it.
  8. FALSE RUMOR CIRCULATING: Should you ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by simply entering your PIN number in reverse. For example, if your PIN is 1234, then you would put in 4321. The ATM system will recognize that you entered your number in backwards. The machine will still dispense the money requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to the location. All ATMs carry this emergency sequencer by law. This information was recently broadcast by Crime Stoppers, however it is seldom used becaus

  10. Wow, I couldn't have said it better myself. I had just finished reading this thread and got to thinking, how very insulting and rude everyone seemed to be, then I refreshed the page and read the reply by PUBBY. What's really going on here??? I mean, really....
  11. The Lighthouse Food Pantry, located at 294 W-I (White/Ingram) Parkway in Dallas, is having its monthly mobile food drive today. In partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank, the food pantry hosts this event in an effort to help our community. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Only two (2) families allowed per car. There must be two (2) adults in the car to get food for two separate families. (Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to the 2-family limitation!) The program helps anyone in need of food and it does not matter what county a person resides. You do not sign up in advance.
  12. You know, I initially read this topic shortly after it was originally posted, and have been mulling it around since then. I, myself have been feeling the same, gradual way over the past few years, but I think it's more because of how "the world" has made it so commercialized (a/k/a greed). It's become a mere "holiday" and no longer Christmas. Students are no longer permitted to sell "Christmas" trees in connection with a college- or school-sponsored fundraiser, for of fear of offending __________ (fill in the blank) ... Gun sales are booming at an alarming rate, et cetera and et cetera. Ch
  13. First of all, the elimination of next day delivery for first-class mail is merely a PROPOSAL, although it will likely be approved by the board that oversees the USPS. Also, the article makes clear that it is not "immediately clear when the plan could take effect." Despite this, however, and in an effort to expand customer access and find new revenue sources, it will also begin testing a new SAME DAY service called Metro Post . All these knee-jerk reactions in the above posts...SHEESH!
  14. That's exactly why it's not working. That particular feature requires Java and when you revert to the HTML version of Gmail it simply is not supported. You really need to download the updated version of your browser, or download Chrome and use it (it's a much better browser program anyway!)
