  1. Contrary, to what some think, my ex for example, spiders don't climb up the drain. I never could convince her of that. They just end up in the tub look'n for water and can't climb back out. They come into houses through little bitty cracks, mostly under doors. First off treat your yard as described above, and create a "moat" around it that they can't or wont cross. Second, if your problem is really bad, use Hot Shot Spider & Scorpion Killer. Just spray the threshold of all of your exterior doors real good. Then lightly spray all of the way around the door jamb and windows. This will last a
  2. It gets better every day. I never know what'll show up or when. But some of them are get'n a little brazen. If I can get some new photos shrunk down to fit here ( they work every where else on the net ), I've got pics of huge tom turkeys beat'n thier heads on the bumper of my truck and sit'n on my ATV, with it in my car port. O.K. I think I got it small enough. By the time I grabbed my cam they had moved around and were beat'n on the back bumper. And let me tell you, these guys take all of the fun out of hunt'n. Can't and wouldn't shoot'm here. Can't go any where else with out fuss'n that
  3. Orrby, I only put it out twice a year, but I've been doing it for a long time so my yard stays saturated. If you put enough out and it soaks in, not wash away, then once should do it. You can go twice just to make sure that it soaked in, but that's as far as I would go. If you're putting it out every week and it's not working, I don't know. Once the soil gets saturated you're only wasting it. It works in the soil not on top. As far as spraying your shoes with Permanone, just once a week if they don't get totally soaked. That stuff is strong and has staying powder. Best way to tell, and I hate
  4. Orrby, those are called Florida Carpenter ants. They are the same as reg. carpenter ants, but more aggressive. Thanks to all of the rain we've had some trees are full of them, an like LPPT said, they get washed down every time it rains. which is every day around here now. If you get the soil treated completely, that'll stop them from digging into your garden and help to slow them crawling around, but you have to treat the whole yard and from the sounds of it heavily. Until you can get the soil to that point, try spraying your shoes and socks with Permanone. Let it dry before you ware them an
  5. It prob. didn't kill them LPPT, but since you kill off what they eat, they have to go elsewhere for food. Sorry about the RMSF, that's a rough one to deal with. Ticks fall and or jump out of trees onto us and our pets, so treating the ground won't help with them. The only thing I've found for ticks would be "Permanone" or the military equivalent, sprayed on your clothes ONLY. And as far as hurting the wild life or us, I'll have to argue on that one. First once it soaks into the soil any mammals would have trouble getting to it. Second, just look at some of the pics I posted up above. My yard g
  6. For years I've been putting a product called "Triazacide" by Spectracide over my whole yard and into the woods as far as I can toss it twice a year. Early spring and mid fall just before a rain. I have a huge yard, almost 2 acres, and it only takes 3 bags. I don't have anything smaller than a rabbit come around. This started one year when my yard got covered with "army worms", and once they were gone I noticed that there were no fire ants any where around. So, I started a bi-annual treatment and haven't had any problems with any insects at all. If you get it into any leaves or brush around it
  7. If a drone flying over is all that you think that you have to worry about, it's time to poke your head out off the closet and really look around. Big Brother don't miss a move you make.
  8. I'll trade you small rodents and frogs for the herds of deer and flocks of turkey that keep trashing my front yard, NOT
  9. I don't know, a handful of cracked corn can go far sometimes. I was only 20 yds. away when I took the pic., and the turkeys around here will make you drive around them.
  10. Ya'll keep finding snakes and gators and such in your front yards, look what I found in mine....
  11. The main thing is to never lie to a child. If you tell them "IF you do this, this, and that, I'm going to pop that bottom", and then they still do it, then you do it. Take them some where out of public eye and do it. But if you tell them " If you get an "A" on this test, I'll take you to Six Flags", and they do it, well then if you have to hock your car to take them, do it. If all you ever do is threaten them and don't follow up on it ( lie to them ) then they'll roll all over you, because they know that you won't do what you say. It's called "Conditioned Response", and they will learn from it
  12. I think the folks that I used to work for / with will have a lot more fun with him on this part of our continent, than with him that close to China. He's a sucker for leaving Asia.
  13. A family took a child that COULD NOT swim too the biggest swimming pool around, wasn't paying attention to him, and he drowned. They sued the pants off the owners, go figure. Happened a few years ago.
  14. Nah, never bothered me at all. Of course I didn't know about it until I came home to a Dear John letter and two wedding rings on the table. Then it was too late to be bothered.

    Coyote

Coyotes haven't been idigenous to this area for a century or more. Now they have just fallowed the food chain. 30 years ago we didn't have any fire ants on this side I-20, then came the "Florida Speed Bumps" and coyotes. And now gators are being seen more often. Yes they are becoming more and more aggressive the more they interact with humans and their pets and there is only one way to deal with them, shoot them. Hiring a trapper doesn't mean that they will be left alive some where else. If I'm not mistaken, by law in Ga. every thing caught in a trap that is not a house pet must be killed. I d
  16. I guess no one ever thought about "WHY" I build the kind of dog houses that I do. By the by, this is before the porches and in ground pool were installed.
  17. Uh, just would some one tell me why "Our Government" listening in on us has all of a sudden become "new". There has been an installation just off of Hiram Lithia Springs Rd., 3600 Listening Station Rd. to be exact, from the early 1950's. They have been recording and scanning every thing that has been put out on the air for ever! Any one with an I.Q. over 6 should know that "Big Brother" has been watching, and listening, for a very long time, they just started spending a little more money on it now. You want to stop it, get off "My Face"," Space Book", and all that other stuff. Put away your ce
  18. Yeah surepip, get caught with a trout and no trout stamp any where in Ga. and see just how "FREE" it is.
  19. Go to Hwy. #92, take a left towards D'ville. Just pass Nebo there's a store on the right, a little gas station. It's the third building, I think. That's the "ONLY" place in Paulding to buy live bait. I think that Wally World does sell some, but if you want good fresh live bait, that store is the best that I've found. JMO.
  20. Hiram Auto on Main St. or East Hiram 4x4 on Atlanta Rd. of Poplar Springs.
  21. They follow the food trail. 20 years ago we didn't have fire ants pass I-20. After they showed up came the "Florida Speed Bumps", then the coyotes. Gaters are the next highest on the food chain. I bet it wont be 5 years before we're covered up with "Cajuns", heck they'll eat any thing.
  22. Thank you ALL who took the time.
