  1. We both know what happened with that motion today. The PCAA is now responsible for itself. It will be at least a year, probably more before the EA is completed. Based on the airport director's past estimates, his nine months to completion will be double as everything else is. How's he going to pay the power bill? Yea, they are now on their own. hehehehehehe
  2. hahahaha you messed up didn't you. I don't have the SOS numbers by precinct some could be a higher percentage, some lower............but as Nice Green said, it's about who actually wins the most votes. Maybe you could get those numbers for us instead of just being critical. David Austin only received 10% of the vote in the 2012, presidential primary. True Story!!
  3. Whoa!! You are including voters in Post 1 that cannot vote in post 2, 3, or 4. Post 2 residents can't vote in post 3...........and so on. Each of the 4 posts only have approximately 18,500 registered voters...........you can't add them all together for each individual post! The only candidate that everyone can vote for is the Commission Chair. I think you need to go back to 5th grade math class. David Austin only received 10% of the votes in the primary in 2012................true story.
  4. I know that and each one of the post commissioners that won their primaries all received a higher percentage of votes cast than David Austin did in his last primary. Yea, guys it's scary when you agree, the results are up there ^^^^ ETA the link from 2014 primaries. http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/GA/Paulding/51456/130936/en/summary.html
  5. Sure that's easy, in 2014 there were 74,021 registered voters. I don't have the exact number by precinct so I divided the registered voters by 4...........for each of the 4 posts = approximately 18,500 voters in each post, Post 2, Todd Pownall received 1590 votes, or 8.5% of the registered voters 100% of the votes cast Post 3 Vernon Collett received 1171 votes or 6.3% of the registered voters 61.57% of the votes cast Post 4 Tony Crowe received 1612 votes or 8.7% of the registered voters or 58.70% of the votes cast So as you see it was not all that different than what David Austin di
  6. Now I'm not a rocket scientist but when I said David Austin got 10% of the vote, I do understand basic math. In the primary David Austin received 7,806 votes, there were 74,865 registered voters, that is 10.426% of registered voters. David Austin received 52% of the voters that showed up at the polls. There is a HUGE difference. Yes, it's about who wins. Nice try Nice Green, David Austin did only receive 10%. http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/GA/Paulding/40489/96285/en/summary.html# We've only had a primary, the general election doesn't happen til November.
  7. You realize David Austin only received 10% of the vote in the 2012 Primary, a Presidential election year. Truth, you can look it up on the Secretary of State's web site. This is a desperation move by a lame duck BOC, another legal challenge for the taxpayers to foot the bill.
  8. Well the movie studio is losing almost a million dollars a year, the airport? Since it's all tied up in different packages, it's going to take a while to unravel. I'll get back to you when I know more.........I stopped by there today, I will tell you that terminal was very comfortable, nice and cool when I opened that door. Of course you can crank up that air conditioner when you don't have to pay the bill out of your pocket.
  9. How silly of us to think elections matter. Certainly we can't expect the lame duck BOC to listen to what the voters say.
  10. No EZ you can't see the forest for the trees job promise. We have an airport, a failed GA airport. Let's make it profitable or at least able to pay the salaries of the 2 employees, then we can discuss expansion and further prospects. You don't keep throwing taxpayer money at a project and ever expect it to succeed, you have to make it successful first. You aren't seeing a business plan any more clearly than the airport director.
  11. Paulding has had an anchor for 6 years, not one business is interested in it so the answer is throw another 50 million at it and maybe in 10 years someone might pay attention? You are blinded by the job prospect, I think if Obama promised you a job right now, you'd jump on it unless you had to go out of town. Do you realize there are 10,000 people within a 3 mile radius of this airport? Pretty sure not many people do, you know why? No one bothers to go beyond the airport on in to Yorkville, Beulah and the Union Community. They think Paudling County stops at the airport. This is Y
  12. I am a republican, but when someone does wrong, it's wrong. Sorry, I can't fall into your trap. I've always had a lot of respect for you, but lately you don't seem to the same person I once thought I knew. We'll just have to agree to disagree, it's the way it is. You seem to have missed all those posts about why the way they did this was no different than what was going on in DC, all you saw was airport = jobs. Where are the 1000 they promised us when they built the GA? What about the 2-3000 with the Film Studio? It's always been about the tricks, misinformation and cost to the
  13. And you'd be wrong, remember I grew up in Chicago. I still don't understand why an airport in Paulding County is important to you? There are more outsiders favoring this than people that live here. No I didn't want Obama elected, I don't and never have followed party lines. I do lean much more conservative than liberal, that I will give you.
  14. They're going on right now, 24/7 just about 45 minutes down Camp Creek Parkway. From the largest and best airport in the world.
  15. Wait, some conservatives do see it........some of us are also friends with Democrats. We need to stop this crazy "partisan" stuff, wrong is wrong, no matter the party affiliated.
  16. This group knows how to skirt the edge of the law, is this what the taxpayers of Paulding County deserve? This is their "legal" public notice of tomorrow's special called IBA meeting. Posted on the door of the airport, the meeting is at the BOC meeting room at the Watson Government Complex. Impressed? <snip> Rest of the story here: http://ponytailpatriot.com/section-blog/287-no-notice-for-called-meeting-in-paulding&Itemid=82
  17. This statement is dripping with sarcasm, isn't there a smiley for that? lol
  18. Thank you for clarifying that Patti. Now is there any wonder why the film studio is sitting there unused with attitudes like that? Makes you wonder why no businesses have ever shown an interest in the airport, the same person is in charge of both.
  19. So you know where Blake was that day? Please enlighten us as to how he was unable to do what he is paid to do. It's not like there were a bunch of businesses moving in to the technology park or many general aviation planes landing and taking off. He is paid over $100,000 per year plus benefits and a county vehicle. Do you not agree he should have been there whether it took two hours or two weeks?
  20. Ahem, the guy is payed by both the County to manage the airport and the IBA to direct the film studio. It was his job, what was he doing during this filming? They don't shoot these things in one day ya know.
  21. Thank you Whitey. This lame duck BOC is trying to push through their agenda before the new commissioners are seated. The voters voted against those candidates supporting the airport expansion. Again, just as in 2004 they are trying to by-pass the voters. Are we really going to let them do that again? What's next? Will they put Marta or bus systems in your back yard? They are already talking about it. If you have attended any of the DOT Public meetings, you will see the plans for the beginning with a shuttle service, from there it only gets bigger. Don't believe me, keep in mind the a
  22. They are part of the same group in Marietta. They have been in Hiram for at least 3 years. Dr. Schmidt and his Hiram staff are awesome, the rest of the staff I experienced and the request to have records transferred for a second opinion left much to be desired. I ended up going with group at the Harbin Clinic in Rome. They scared me pretty bad at Urology Associates. Everything in Rome went very well.
  23. Well, let's just say the behavior of the airport director and IBA employee (both the same guy, yea he gets two paychecks) has assured us there will be no more VH-1 films in Paulding County. Not at the airport or the film studio. This is rather telling, the lack of experience and his admission is notable.
  24. Momof3, I don't know what to say except, life is hard we can't "fix" everything. We have to love til it hurts. Praying for strength for you and your family. Everyone, please use this to cherish those that are close to you, life is temporary but the memories are forever.
  25. My son has rented many of his college books. Much, much less expensive.
