  1. I asked why it concerned you since you didn't live here any more. I never said you couldn't have an opinion. I did say you were only in support because of the promised jobs. Again, I'm waiting for the evidence to support the claims by the support the commercialization folks. I've seen nothing that convinces me what they say is true. Have you checked in to it? If so, please give me the info that supports what they say about jobs and tax relief is what they claim. Heeee heeeee, that's already been debunked. The support page has boosted their posts since the beginning, they paid
  2. Here's a survey done on the support page, I'm still looking for the screen shot of the poll. I can't say how representative this survey is as there is no indication of how many participated or if they even live in Paulding County.
  3. Yes, there is a screen shot of it. A lot of people said they commuted outside of Paulding but had no intention of moving closer to their jobs. Hang on, I'll see if I can get it.
  4. And this same web site has had lots of polls that didn't pan out. Especially around election time. I didn't even vote in that poll.
  5. I agree, those that do not live here are welcome to their opinion but until they pay my property taxes I don't pay a lot of attention to them. I'm still waiting on the evidence that supports the jobs numbers and the property tax relief so many talk about. Without the back up data, anyone can say anything. Until then, I'll rely on reputable data, such as this recently completed MIT study that says smaller airports aren't working. I'm thinking this is the exact study Calvin Thompson references as to why he changed his mind about "never, ever, believe you me": http://dspace.mit.ed
  6. The only person asked to leave was Jordan Louie, others walked out in support, others yet in disgust. Of course they were angry, most of those people appointed to those committees have never been to an Airport Authority meeting. Just as some surprised them, it only shows preconceived notions can and do get turned around when you're willing to work with facts and without ridicule.
  7. I've always got your back and bail money if you need it. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me, I learned a long time ago not everyone will all the time. My problem is with those that haven't done their own homework and rely on what other people tell them instead of taking the time to research for themselves. I cannot tell you the number of people, long time Paulding residents and newbies as well, that have contacted me about their opposition how this was done and how they could go against the will of the people. Then circumventing the voters was the straw that broke th
  8. Let me ask you and BB this, why hasn't our BOC or our PCAA held a public meeting on this? Why won't they put it on the ballot to settle it once and for all. And no don't play with the wording on that ballot, as they did in the past, with "funding". I think that was answered in May when every single anti-commercialization candidate won their election and every single pro-commercialization lost.
  9. Here are the ones I bought. They fit the original tires but not the new ones. http://www.amazon.com/Security-Company-SZ143-Passenger-Pickups/dp/B000HZFDPU/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1412440120&sr=1-1&keywords=Security+Chain+Company+Super+Z6%2C+SZ143%2C+Cable+Chain+for+Passenger+Cars%2C+Pickups+%26+SUVs+-+Set+of+2
  10. I bought a set 3 years ago, got new tires last year.........they don't fit.....sigh. Never used them.
  11. I have been over this time and time again, I don't have to convince anyone that has actually done the research. Small airports are losing federal funding, airlines are consolidating, the data they used to validate the service is skewed. There is no business plan, we've already spent 17 million taxpayers dollars out there that will never be reimbursed by the FAA. Federal money isn't free, state money isn't free, there are always strings attached. I'm not asking you to believe a thing I say, I'm only asking you to do your own homework and not just take someone's word for it. If you can s
  12. Those that are too blind to see the forest for the trees are funny.
  13. Yes, I'm shaking. lol There are many, many reasons to oppose the expansion. A little research will show you why.
  14. So have you researched where those two flights a week will be going? Seriously, people that don't do due diligence and just take politicians words for it are doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over. I think you need to ask the airport director how many flights a day, week, etc they are anticipating. See what he tells you, vs what they've been saying publicly. Then just do a search on Allegiant Airlines, the one Propeller seems to really like. JSYK, the people "working against it" have done a lot of research and are relying on the data and studies, not what someone tells the
  15. Shallow Hal, I'm with mojo, it's gonna be a while if ever. I'm thinking never, ever. However, since they are saying two flights a week, which one would you prefer and where would you be going to Orlando or Vegas? Hope you're planning on staying a while because getting a return flight is gonna be a week or so out. Oh and don't make any hotel reservations in advance, if there aren't enough seats sold, the flight will be delayed a day, or a couple of days, or maybe even a week. Don't believe me, just ask the lady that booked the flight for a wedding that wasn't leaving for two days after the
  16. See win or lose in court, the lawyers and their staff get paid. It's beneficial to law firms to keep litigation going.
  17. Not to mention the amount of taxpayer money the county is spending to defend their grandiose schemes! Tell me again how much they paid Holland & Knight to keep the Morrison's out of court?
  18. I'm thinking Mr. Howard should be required to produce hard evidence about "Delta" and the Paulding Airport. I guess no one bothered to hear that many are opposed to commercialization for "legitimate" reasons. Everyone knows Clark Howard is a radio personality, his job is to sensationalize what he's talking about.
  19. The rest of our government officials should follow the lead of the PCED team. Jamie Gilbert, his staff and his Board of Directors are doing a phenomenal job of bringing business to Paulding County, with a transparent attitude! Sure while the projects are being negotiated they are given "code names", but the information is given in detail to the IBA every month. There are no secrets but to who the project actually belongs.. They are open and informative about how it's being done, whether or not there is any tax abatement and where the project will be located. This is how you practice co
  20. Your guess is as good as mine, we've already spent a whole bunch of taxpayer $$$$ on this over the course of the last 16 years. I hate to even do the open records request to find out exactly how much. ~~sigh~~
  21. Peachtree Protective Covers' cost to us for each job created will be roughly $1,705.00. If 43 employees make $40,000 per year, 50% of their income returned to Paulding County will be $860,000.00 Now let me ask CPR, Pubby and those ranting about how we don't want jobs a question. Does this ^^^^ sound like someone that is opposed to business, industry and job creation? All of this is happening without a need for Commercial Air Service. Just like Ronchi and Interroll. Heck Gulf Stream doesn't even need Commercial Air Service on site, just a nearby airport to bring in potential custom
  22. Gone, the return on investment for the Memory Care Facility far outweighs what we have spent at the airport. Remember we were promised 2-3000 jobs with no cost to the taxpayers for the airport. $17 million, taxpayer dollars spent already, that will never be reimbursed to create 2 jobs is an atrocity!! The cost per job is $8.5 million!! We are only collecting about $5,000 a year on that property that's sitting there with nothing built on it. Once the Memory Care Facility gets built, we will start collecting about $56,000 a year in taxes. If they reach their milestones, the cost per jo
  23. You are so wrong about me and this. I said nothing about it, nothing. Quit trying to put words in my mouth, please. Giddy is not how I felt about this.
  24. Can't stand it can you........LMBO!! The No Commercial Airport folks are NOT anti business. Read my signature. And here's a little tidbit for you to digest, from Wiki, those Gwinnett folks payed attention to the studies and data that even the guy the steering committe brought in confirmed. People will still go to Hartsfield to get where they want to go. It's only 30-45 minutes from Paulding County, I live in the very Northwest corner and it only takes an hour to get to HJIA.
