  1. Probably for the same reason why so many people become members of gangs and hate groups - wanting a feeling they belong somewhere.
  2. The odds were against the girl being raised by two parents who were both drug addicts. It's a shame this kind of thing happens to people. Her mother paid the price for her drug use. Hopefully the girl's father feels guilty as hell for the rest of his life over his daughter's death and what he had done to his wife.
  3. I'm so sorry to hear this news NC. Please keep us updated.
  4. I've had to call parents who were overdue to pick up their child from our house on several occasions. I remember once when a kid spent the night and his parents were to pick him up from our house at 11a.m. because we had to be someplace at 1. We ended up having to change our plans because we could not reach the parents on the phone and a drive to their house revealed they weren't home. It wasn't until early evening when they finally showed to pick up the kid. Their excuse? They had to run some errands. Needless to say, we were ticked off and that kid never spent the night again, nor did
  5. Wendy's will be opening in a new location.
  6. Now you're trying to say when it comes to health care, there is no private spending in single-payer countries and that's BS as well. You are dancing around what I had said. WR made a blanket statement that percentage of taxes and health care combined were higher in the US than in single-payer countries. He had also made a comment that Americans pay more in taxes than those in single-payer countries. Not once did he ever cite any sources or figures to support his claim. I had proven both his statements were false by producing the figures that shows those single-payer countries pay muc
  7. She thinks it's quite alright if she does it because she obviously thinks she has a larger mind than the rest of us. I started this topic using that headline and source because I saw it on another cite and we thought the headline to be hilarious. Before I posted it here, I googled a quote from it to see if he had an original and credible source he received his information. Doing so I found the original story on CBC news. That's a Canadian news station in case anyone was wondering. I thought about keeping the original headline buy citing the CBC, but then thought that would be no fun.
  8. You're the one who often uses Wiki to cite as a source pubby. Most colleges and universities won't allow their students to use wiki as a source because it isn't credible. In fact I can remember several years ago when you would discredit anyone on the right who used something from wiki as a source saying it was unreliable because anyone can enter stuff on it.
  9. Here's what I find really funny about your statement above; WR can make statements like the combined tax and health care costs in the GDP is greater than those countries with single-payer health care. He does not cite a source; he just makes a blanket statement and you supported him. In that same discussion I posted the actual figures and proved WR to be wrong. The problem is you guys quite frequently make blanket statements as it they are fact without citing a source, but when we cite a credible source that disputes your statements, you begin to attack the messenger.
  10. Go look again pubby at the post with the chart and you will see a link below it that takes you to Choi's article. No kidding. You really crack me up pubby.
  11. This my friends is an example of hypocrisy at its finest. She accuses me of having a "little mind" and being incapable of understanding another perspective, all the while demonstrating she's guilty of what she accuses me. Then tops it all off with the post above. How often have we seen you fire the first insult off at someone because you disagree with them or they disagreed with you, and then you scream foul when they return fire.
  12. Actually pubby, the chart came from an article written by Charles Q. Choi, a science writer. Pot meet kettle.
  13. I question your post all the time as they are usually filled with that leftist mentality bull.
  14. Interesting story about how a ship in the Arctic to study global warming is having such a difficult time. One member of the team said it is the most ice he has seen there in 20 years.
  15. Gerrymandering isn't something new because of technology. Gerrymandering has been going on for many, many decades. How they did it before the age of computers was using the results from voting precincts to determine how political demographics were changing. Even with the modern technology, Democrats are not excluded from gerrymandering congressional districts in states where they hold the majority in their state legislatures. What this SCOTUS ruling has done is taken another right away from states; the right to redraw congressional districts based upon the census count. Do I agree with
  16. Don't tell us the Democrats never gerrymandered districts when they had control because you know they did.
