  1. I guess I'm about average on the "computer savvy" scale. But, I have a new pc and really need a good virus-protection program. Also, it's running a little slower and is being "jumpy" today. I downloaded Google Earth and I think that's when the sloooooowness started. Thank in advance!
  2. Sounds like you just need some schedule to your life maybe but DEFINITELY some excercise. Working isnt always the cause of all things negative with your health. The more any of us are sedentary, the WORSE we feel. Doubtful drugs would ever make you wanna jump up with huge bursts of energy, but excercise and setting goals will.
  3. Congratulations to you both! Huge accomplishment especially in this economy. I can imagine you've made lots of sacrifices along the way and now it will all pay off. How wonderful that you can both retire at the same time, too. My Mother passed away after a short bout with cancer leaving my Dad in retirement alone. I really wish they could have enjoyed more of it together. So, enjoy each day . God bless .
  4. I bet they would . I miss mine sooooo very much, too. My Mothers parents lived only 3 houses from us my entire growing up life. I got to see them literally everyday and I cannot imagine my life without them. 'I know for sure that they would both be disgusted with the greed and the bailouts. My Mother used to tell me about the last days of the great depression when things were a little better but still rough(Mom was born in 1936). She said my wonderful grandaddy would sit at the dinner table with them and talk, etc. he wouldnt eat until they were all full. He would scrape all their leftover
  5. I still have a "signed" glossy pic from Buford the Buzzard. He gave it to my Mother after she had a few of us there for his show and realized it was time to go meet my Dad who was coming over from Yancey Bros Caterpillar(where he retired from). As we got up quietly to go to the front gate, Buford picked my Mom out and gave her what for for leaving his show early LOL . He asked her if she just had to pee or what? She could have died! But, she had the greatest sense of humor EVER and really loved every minute of it. He'd never make it there now. People are WAY too sensitive and would miss
  6. yes and yes. Wow, does it take more than a shower or two to get that egg smell offaya.
  7. TOM BROKAW? Bleck! Is he now the authority on baby boomers? And, he wasnt referring to baby boomers at all. He's talking about WWII veterans who birthed baby boomers. Here ya go... "The Greatest Generation" is a term coined by journalist Tom Brokaw to describe the generation[1] who grew up in the United States during the deprivation of the Great Depression, and then went on to fight in World War II, as well as those whose productivity within the war's home front made a decisive material contribution to the war effort. The generation is sometimes referred to as the G.I. Generation (a t
  8. I think it can be done that way. I know you can only change it so often. You can probably find it pretty easliy online. It's something like no more than every 18 months. But, I was told by my attorneys paralegal that it is simple when you both agree on the changes. My ex wouldnt agree if I offered him a million dollars and beach front property...all in the name of just being an a$$.
  9. How many times did you say you've walked down the aisle and divorced?
  10. Oh phooey on that . We are as good as friends and family and there's no need for that.
  11. I totally agree, Ivylove. And thank you for the reminder. I have good memories of my Grandfather saying many of the same things. He was the chef of the family so I remember him referring to food most of those times and it was a good, clear, down to earth lesson for us as kids. We always knew he would give us whatever we wanted and there was rarely a "no" from him or my Grandmother. But, they both expected us to be mindful of others first, show gratitude always and dont abuse their hard work and generosity. I can honestly say that we never did abuse it. We had a GREAT deal of respect for them a
  12. I really never understand why in the WORLD people think they are entitled to police every business within their realm of living. What is so hard about "if you dont like it, DONT GO THERE'..."if that channel offends you, dont watch it or listen to it"?! Behavior that limits business b/c of personal "morals" does nothing positive. It only limits capitalism and keeps the natural progression from happening. If you dont go, buy or watch, they will not be in business for long and if they are, you STILL dont have to participate but WILL benefit from tax revenue, etc. It's not rocket science.
  13. HAHAHAHAAAAAAAA! Wow....she just looks like a sweet, little, elderly lady. I probably wouldnt think she was up to anything. That is sooooo low. And to think about the people who really do need any sort of help they could get .
  14. Wish I could help but I dont know him. I agree, that is very strange and seems especially odd since you're not in a subdivision. When I lived in Dallas, I lived on 12 acres. I know the feeling of "this person is either really lost or they MEANT to come to MY house". It's an uneasy feeling. Not to be an alarmist, but after my house was robbed 2 months ago, I've learned a LOT about how people case your home, etc. I'd just be careful to make it look like someone is always home and be aware of your surroundings.
  15. OMG. Do you have a cam hidden somewhere in my house? Creepy. Yep but ya just gotta laugh, I guess.
  16. Really great site. Thanks for sharing!
  17. Exibit A. thnx LR. Ever feel like you're banging your head on a big, brick wall?
  18. I honestly dont even think THAT would do it. They'd find various ways to complicate that, too. Those of us who have been members for years here, are a little jaded over this. What it all really comes down to is this:parents now days spoil, baby and pamper their shildren to the point of changing holidays that have been on a calendar for decades and decades and then some. They dont want to tell little Susie that "Halloween IS on a school night so we have to be finished by __________ " which is earlier than a weekend night. Also, it may cut into their childs "collections" and they MUST take them
  19. I've been to Vegas many times and also love Harrahs in New Orleans and the casinos and hotels in Biloxi. All of these places have benefitted enormously from their revenue. For instance, Biloxi was the "poorest city with the poorest school system" years ago when they ushered in the casino's. It was a very good move for them and is paying off. But, if we cant even buy a bottle of wine for dinner on Sunday, I can't see this happening anytime in my lifetime.
  20. A thinking person would assume that it would be easily solved by looking at a calendar. But, alas and alack! each year it seems to baffle and confuse parents.
  21. Nope, dont think so. There isnt even any "legal sep" in Ga. It can happen pretty quick.
  22. The Chevy Show was a classic. Makes me sad it's gone.
