I love the "mixed up" flowers and the dinners. Those are the quirky things that make our loved ones who they were and keeps them with us. You have a very caring family who obviously love you and want you to be okay. That IS a blessing that so many hurting people do not have. Thinking of your sister tonight...

I was reading an article earlier on divorce and how many people in my generation grew up with divorced parents and some divorced multiple times. I am divorced so I know what it's like from a parents angle. But, thank goodness, my parents were very happily married for 40+ years until my Mother died. Just curious. Did either parent remarry? How many times? How did their divorce affect you? If your parents are UNhappily married, did you ever wish they would divorce? Did your parents divorce after a very long marriage...30+ years or so and was it a shock?

Best board games for families to play together?
Gipper Girl Rocks replied to Chelle's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It's so good that you have a regular night like this with family and friends. We had game night almost every Saturday night and fondue growing up for many years...til we left home really. Those are some of the best memories. -
The Jim Jones things creeps me out a lot, too. It is so interesting to me how a person can posses the power to control other people with little on no basis for what they are teaching. I know that people who need to feel they are a PART of something flock to people like him but I still dont understand it. The documentary I saw recently about cults showed former followers of his. Some had left the group b/c of the craziness but others never "left", they just werent in the mass suicide. When they interviewed them, they still seemed like they didnt fully grasp what Jones had done and how many pe

I was very young too when he was kidnapped. I remember VERY well my Mother talking to us about strangers. She was vigilant about making sure that if we went to a friends house, that she and my dad knew the parents and never ever let me go anywhere alone. Not until I was 10-11 was I allowed to be apart from an adult in a store. But, I didnt mind b/c the Adam story really scared me and I was really quiet and shy back then(yeah, I snapped outta that). I always remember his Mother saying that Adam was literally ONE isle over when they believe he met his killer.

Best board games for families to play together?

Funny you should make this thread b/c I was putting a new game together today while planning a family game night once a month. There are all ages between us so we have Candy Land, Uno, Jenga and I just bought Wheel Of Fortune. I love Scattergories and need to buy one...mine seems to have not made the move with me. I just heard Glen Beck advertising a new board game the other day and cannot remember the name but I want it. It sounded fun and I gotta think of it! When I find it, Ill send you a msg with the name. It is for a group of 4+ and is for older kids and up. -
LOL! No way! Thats great and yep, I could believe it, too. I did see a preview but havent seen it yet. What do you think about Brandi? Isnt that the new girls name? I thought Kyle and Kim were beyond mean and super bitchy to her. They are so threatened by new women. I wouldve said at least as much as Bradi did to them...well, not the "Ill kill you" part. Then, the other girls just coward down and let them berade her. I think she was genuinely trying to make new friends and wanted to talk to someone that is going thru ( or has been before ) what she is. Apparently, she doesnt really know

Agreed on seeing Russell. I read a few places that Bravo is worried about how to handle the footage of him this season. They know it will attract a bigger audience but say they are afraid of going too far. Bravo going too far? Never ! It was really morbid and just strange seeing him though. Sad situation, especially for his 2 teen boys and little girl. Theres also mention of a tell all book by a his alledged "mistress" that Taylor had just discovered before his death.

AuPair Woodward murder case For some reason the story of the AuPair who was convicted of murdering the baby she kept popped into my head last night. I Googled it today and was reminded that although the jury convicted her of 2nd degree murder(which can carry a life sentence with parole in 15 years), during sentencing the Judge agreed to lower the charge to manslaughter and free her on time served(less than 300 days). The jury said after the case that during deliberation, half of them wanted to acquit and all agreed they didnt think she did anything out of malice or real neglect.

He looks and acts just like like Francs'(Martin Short) assistant wedding planner from Father of the Bride. Think his name was Hans.

I watched and they're all nuts but thats what makes it addicting. The new "man-friend" surprised me...to look at, I mean. She must stay loopy all the time. Pretty bad when Camille Grammer starts looking like the one with some sense .

********Riley's Detailing Special*******************
Gipper Girl Rocks replied to RAD's topic in Business NEWS
Hey Marc....make sure you remind my Dad on FB that you do this. He has a nice, new, little Honda sporty thing to drive and would probably love to have it detailed soon. And, I'll buy him one from you guys for Christmas. -
Congratulations! The thought of twins scares me to death!!! I'm sure you'll be great just by the fact that you're able to type words on a keyboard after getting that news !!! Seriously, congratulations and I hope you have a great pregnancy with little yucky-ness and loaded with good things.

Boo got shot. -
Me too. I love them. They have ALWAYS helped us out with getting to where we were needing them and with their prices, too. They are the only ones I'd ever use.

I only make this around Thanksgiving and Christmas b/c it is on the decadent side. Funny thing is, it's brussel sprouts! I've been making this about 5 years now. Everytime I make it, it disappears and people who said they'd sworn off sprouts forever, LOVE it. Not to mention, it really is beautiful served on your Christmas china and only takes a few ingredients.... French Braised Brussels in Cream by Julia Child

Who has ever lived around toll roads/interstates

Wow...that sounds like a horribly scary night. Sleazy motels in the middle of nowhere or in the hood always creep me out. -
Yes, Sista! My SO only eats his steak Pittsburg seared and it has to be at least med well. I tell the waitress to just ask the chef to make his like a leather shoe.... Then, I order mine always....,"RARE. Please tell the chef that it will not scare me". We are opposite what most men and women like as far as steak. It does get a funny reaction out of waiters and waitresses.

neither. I switched to StraightTalk and am using my Iphone with it. They use ATT's system. $45 a month unlimited everything. No complaints.

True. My BIL got hit by a deer. It was running toward him, head on, on the double yellow line on hwy 92 between Dallas Hwy and Macland.
