I had a slow upload speed last night through my Comcast service. I checked speedtest.net and it showed me that although I had a download speed of 10 Mbps (I can usually get up to 30 with Xfinity's Speedboost), my upload speed was atrocious at less than 1 Mbps. The speed test also showed that I was apparently online through an ISP in Kansas—about 950 miles from Marietta. I rebooted and was then connected to one here in Georgia, which gave me better speeds.

New Jersey Has Integrity Above The Rest Of The States

So why did you have to start a whole new thread about this topic? You had a perfectly good thread on the same topic right here. I'm glad you think what you do is "advertising," but what it really is is spamming the message board. Obviously, you care a lot about this topic and maybe those affected by the actions of a government that looks pretty bad in the eyes of one report. But it's bad form to continually post on the same topic, especially when you're adding nothing new each time. We know from your repeated posts and topics that Georgia is apparently BAD BAD BAD when it comes t -
ok.... How has David Austin saved us that much money?
Nice Green replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think the saving money comes from the approval of smaller county budgets, and since those are funded (at least somewhat) by local taxes, then it probably is saving taxpayers' money. But it sometimes comes at the expense of fewer county services, like the libraries closed on Wednesday, shorter operating hours at the animal shelter, and more. Maybe some of those cuts don't affect most people out there, and maybe those cuts were thoroughly researched before they were made. And just maybe most people don't mind the cuts if it means little impact on their tax bills (or even less). Personally, -

The point was YOU made it political with the comment I quoted. You also posted the 2008 election results map. That's why the thread should go in the politics forum. -

Sorry, Guard dad, I'm just not seeing any politics in this thread at all. -

So you're going to give your speculation, but you can't provide anything to back it up? Then why should people listen to you? For that matter, why do you keep posting topics like these? How do we know you're communicating with integrity when you can't offer any support for your assertions? In all the time you've spent creating multiple discussion threads on this ONE topic, you could've read the study and gained some knowledge on it so maybe you can offer more analysis of it, instead of parroting Georgia's ranking. Maybe you should change your login to "The Parrot" since that's most -

US Justice Department Sues Sheriff Joe Arpaio
Nice Green replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm no legal scholar, and I won't claim to be an "expert," but if what he is doing is so wrong, wouldn't that considered "violation of oath of office," and isn't that a crime? (And that may be a civil action, like a speeding ticket, but I really don't know.) It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, but just because the Justice Department sues Arpaio doesn't mean he's in the wrong. Depending on how long he's done his job or been in law enforcement, he could very well be an expert in his field, and even if the JD lawyers are experts in their field, it all comes down to how it plays ou -
New Jersey Has Integrity Above The Rest Of The States

Just because a state went Republican or Democrat in one election doesn't give that state to that party. The "study" you're quoting looks at government operations, accountability at all three branches of government, state budgeting and more. It has nothing to do with who voters went for in the 2008 presidential election. (Does this "study" even look at 2008?) For all we know, the Democratic states at the top of the list could have Republicans controlling some or all of their legislature, or Republican governors. And the reverse could be true with the Republican states. This "study" is t -

So you just put up the map, and expect someone to do the work for you? If you're putting up the info, why don't you tell us the coincidence? This study is looking at state government, and you're comparing it to the results of a federal election. How are the two related? Looking at your comparison for you, I see there are four states in the top 10 that went Republican in the last election. Looking at the 18 states that earned D's, nine went Republican, nine Democrat. So where's the proof to back up your statements in other threads that conservatives have no ethics? And why, in this -
People Tell Me Kindness Is The Best Policy

I'd like to know who you think is personally attacking you, and if you think I'm one of them, I want you to explain why. To my knowledge, I've never attacked you personally. And until I actually meet you and you give me reason to believe otherwise, I'm going to believe you're an OK guy in person. But I know I've called you out on several occasions for your demeanor on this board. For instance, and in no particular order: * Consistently creating multiple threads on the same topic, adding nothing new to the topic. For instance, your two recent threads on state integrity. * Respondi -

And what's the purpose of bringing that up? -
But Tabby, don't you know they're STANDING UP, SPEAKING OUT and TALKING BACK, so in TP's eyes, they're heroes.

Just because you think it's your "right" doesn't mean you should throw courtesy away and spam your fellow users. And if the mods wanted to (and perhaps they should), they would be at the very least be telling you to practice some courtesy by refraining to post repetitive topics.
-
Been hitting the Democratic talking points, have you?

And you've posted about this guy in threads of your creation or other threads at least four times. Will you stop spamming and move onto a new topic?

Why are no replies showing up in this thread? It says on the Fastread page that there have been replies.

I turned off AutoCorrect. It tries to change so many words in my everyday texts, plus it takes too much time to correct minor typos.

We're not debating on if anyone on the far left held such a view. And it was a few people on the "far right" that held the conspiracy belief. It wasn't a huge share of right-leaners, and it seemingly wasn't anyone of import, save for Mancow, and few would likely say that he speaks for the right. Why does far right = extremist? Why would you equate an innocent belief system with the negative term of extremist? "Extremist" is usually reserved for someone who would use violence or the threat of violence to get what they want. Just because you're on the far end of the political spectrum—either

I'm glad you took debate in school and feel the need to examine my debate tactics. But it's clear you're hiding behind your criticism of my arguments. If "many" is a relative term, then how many people are you referring to? One percent of the "far-right" is still a lot of people, but it's still a sizable number. If you realize that "many" is ambiguous, why would you say that "many" on the far right believed such a conspiracy? Some people out there believe there is a conspiracy. You're always going to have people who believe more outrageous stories like that. But most people subscribe t

And what is the cost of living in Germany? Mexico? And what does their pay in American dollars equate to in those respective counties? Just because a worker in another country earns a tenth of what their American counterpart takes home doesn't mean they have a tenth of the buying power their wealthier counterparts have. How can a company abuse Mexican workers that come to America and seek out jobs, and then these workers take jobs despite the sub-standard wages? Those workers are choosing to take he jobs, just like you chose to stay at your job for five years.

Ah, a new, un-sourced chart that's great at prompting wealth envy. Well done—I thought you had lost your touch, TP. -
Did you ever seek out training opportunities to become more than a stockman? Did you pursue educational opportunities outside of work? Why would you expect to make more than $9 an hour as a stockman? It's got to be a job that requires little training, and I'm sure there are at least five people (if not many more) willing to step in and do your job if you quit.
-
So what was your point in the statement: "I remember many of the far right were speculating for some sort of conspiracy theory"? If you're admitting that the many you were speaking of wasn't referring to anyone prominent, then why would you acknowledge this "many"? How many is this "many"? I'm sure there's more than the dozen who were quoted in the Gawker story that might've believed (or jokingly said they believed) that Breitbart's death was a conspiracy, but c'mon, that's the fringe out there. But you're basically trying to demonize the far right by saying "many of the far right believed" th

Wow, the Gawker story, which was the top Google hit, quotes Tweets from Mancow, who's hardly the torch bearer for the right, and about a dozen nobodies. And that's your "many of the far right" you were speaking of? And mind you, these are tweets almost immediately after his death, so a lot of them are going to be reactionary and quick thoughts—not necessarily the best thought-out beliefs—and some of them were probably tongue-in-cheek. So unless you can show a prominent figure on the right that truly believed there was a conspiracy behind his death, you're basically just trolling.
