  2. Thank you for your replies. I checked the website but it has no pictures on it. Guess I will have to force myself to get out in the heat tomorrow and check it out. I refuse to go to yardsales until fall.
  3. I saw that being built a few weeks ago. Very glad they are making use of that building. Yes, it is the consignment store I am looking for information on.
  4. There is a used furniture store near Tractor Supply and Tropical Joes. Does anybody know the name and have you ever been there? Wondering what the inventory and price is like. TIA.
  5. Don't forget the Airport that has never opened, the sidewalk to nowhere, the pretty water fountain downtown and the new parks. Sounds to me that our money wasn't spent wisely. Sorry for the government employees who are taking paycuts.

    Control

Mei-lan... I said that the control over the gas and electricity is coming....it is not here yet but it is not far off. To the other posters...I DO understand the difference between a corporation controlling what we can buy and government control. What I am trying to say is that we are controlled on a daily basis and the government control/rationing is not far off.

    Control

Exactly. This I understand. The control of non-sale items I think is going too far. To the person who said I am paranoid......remember this post in a year my friend when the government controls how much gas you buy and how much electricity you use. Some of us just choose to have our eyes opened to the control we are facing in life.

    Control

Good response. It still doesn't seem right tho. The only way they can regulate this is to get your info. when you purchase. Then they can deny you the right to purchase again that day. My question remains, is this considered rationing and if they can do this with cigarettes where will they draw the line?

    Control

Thanks. Those responses seem reasonable but I wonder if they get ID when somebody buys the cigarettes.

    Control

We were just at Kroger in Dallas and saw an interesting sign on the cigarette case....."Limit 2 cases per day per person". NOW, I am not a smoker but isn't this considered rationing and why are they doing it. How can they regulate it? The only way I can see is by getting the persons personal information for a file and that just seems wrong. Someone enlighten me. If they do it with cigarettes they can do it with anything.

    Christmas

The Been is a thrift store in Dallas that has helped people for many years. They are across from Dallas Elementary and near Little Bears. I believe you have to go thru another organization to get the Christmas assistance tho. Not trying to be rude to the OP, but with the current need for help in the county I doubt they are considering looking as far ahead as Christmas yet. Good luck to you.
  13. Maybe an overnight stay at a bed and breakfast. Barnsley Gardens is close and nice.
  14. Is this the same as the Campbells Soup cheddar cheese?
  15. Sadly it does not really matter. By the time we are old enough to collect our SS the program will be gone. Sorry to be so negative but the truth hurts.
  16. Adam has got to go. I just can't think of who I want to take him out. I am thinking Noah or maybe his mommas ghost can scare him to death.
  17. My sister did not have a test done. She changed her diet and her symptoms went away so she now lives a gluten free life.
  18. Maybe it would be easier to go back to the pawn shop and say...."Hey, I know you can't give me Harold's number, BUT can you call him on the number you have on file and have him call me?" They would probably be willing to help.
  19. I would have continued on with my business and told them to go ahead and call the cops. I am so tired of people threatening people with 911.
  20. I haven't heard anything lately but I know that place used to have a bad rap for drug dealings. Also personally know thru a previous sales posistion that I had ( I was owed money from this place) that there was financial trouble between him and his ex-wife. With all the new places coming to town I doubt too many people will miss this restaurant.
  21. BubbaDoo....I like your post and appreciate your stance. Sadly tho the gangs are already formed and hard at work in our town. It has been going on for a while. Go sit sometimes in some parking lots in the area and watch what goes on around you. We are not in mayberry anymore. With that being said, there has got to be a way to dissolve the established gangs or run them out of our area.
