  1. (Nothing outside of family, that is ... )
  2. Congratulations on your new place, There is nothing as stressful or as rewarding as your own business. Best of luck to you.
  3. Wow ... I am floored that some of you actually seem to be defending this behavior. These kids were not just making out on the bus, for crying out loud. Sure, teenagers have hormones that are raging. That does not in any way shape or form make this type of behavior even the tiniest bit ok. That people would even trying to excuse it or forgive it scares me. Ok, they don't deserve to have to be registered sex offenders for life but let us not miss how totally screwed up this behavior is.
  4. I can not even begin to imagine the pure h*ll a parent must go through in a situation like this. Toddler Struck, Killed In Driveway
  5. I guess they've been wearing pajamas and slippers out in public for so long that they've forgotten how proper clothes are supposed to work.
  6. They can't charge her. She can't legally consent so she can't be deemed legally responsible for the act.
  7. They are a tool and it is up to the individual to determine how to use that tool. And not all tools work for all people.
  8. Only the boys are being charged. The girl is not, because of her age.
  9. Almost forgot to add that it is paid for by donations and is done voluntarily. There is very little cost to the taxpayer. None of the gifts are paid for with tax money. Only comes down to gas and vehicle use.
  10. It is a sad reality that all too many of our society's children at the lower end of the economic scale end up having what they perceive to be negative contacts with law enforcement. It is because of these reasons as well as a desire to give back to the community that these kinds of programs were started many years ago and continue today.
  11. It actually ismy understanding that there is to be a NW outer perimeter type project going ahead. Redtop down roughly along 113 to 278 and then on down to I-20. It's not happening tomorrow but it certainly makes perfect sense.
  12. I believe LL (LibertyLady ... or is it LadyLiberty??) is doing something for a family much in need.
  13. If you're fortunate enough to have good service from the folks being discussed in this thread, consider yourselves lucky and please do try to remember them this holiday season. Even if it is just a plate of home-made cookies. Some type of gesture that lets them know that you are thinking of them and that you do appreciate them. (Most of the time money is what folks recommend but I think we all know that isn't an option for everyone this days.)
  14. I'm jealous. We used to have an awesome mail carrier. Unfortunately, life dealt her a cruel blow. It's been bad here ever since she left.
  15. Back in the day, sure. The carriers used to give a personal touch to the delivery. Now my mail is never here the same time any two days of the week, there are at least two different carriers that cover the route, and it's clear that neither of them cares much on a personal level about the people they serve. Newspaper ... basically the same deal. Used to be a much more personal thing. You used to know your carrier. They would come by to collect the money for the paper as well as do the delivery. If you had problems, you talked to them. None of that is the case anymore. Just some f
  16. You could always give the S.O. a ring and see what they can do. Not sure if it has to be posted or not but I do believe that is illegal. And if you have their contact info, though it would be hard to prove it was them that actually did it, contact from the S.O. may make them think twice about doing it again. Another possibility ... it may be an unethical foreclosure trash removal company.
  17. He shot himself later, after he was on the ground. They don't show it.
  18. I am 100% convinced that he was trying to commit suicide by cop and only started firing to get things moving. If he had intedned to hurt people, he would have ... starting with the woman with the purse. At the very least he would have hit the guy that said he fired his wife. After the security guard shot him the guy probably decided to end it himself instead of risking ending up in jail instead of dead. Of course it's all speculation at this point since the only one with the answers can't give them to us.
  19. Gun did not have blanks and, according to all reports I've seen/heard, he killed himself.
  20. Calling post doesn't always work properly.
  21. I give them credit for making the decision, even as last minute as it was. That tells me that they are actually listening to their people instead of being stuck on their earlier decisions. Situations like this absolutely can be fluid and you can bet they knew they'd catch grief for the last minute change but if they were getting reports of dangerous road conditions still existing, they absolutely did the right thing.
  22. Buses will still run ... they'll be two hours later than normal.
