I can't believe I'm going to say this... but...if you go to a local "mom & pop" computer repair shop they should be kind enough to let you use one of their "for testing purposes" universal power adapters for laptops. I know they have one because every computer repair shop does. Then you would know if it works. Hopefully, they will have a universal power adapter that will fit your laptop for testing. It should be the hospital as I attended a meeting recently that had a picture on display. The meeting was more or less turned into the "toll road" meeting.

According to Pauldin.gov and the "newsflash" I received today... Paulding will be getting a new Hospital at the corner of Hwy 278 & Bill Carruth dubbed "Wellness Parkway". I believe the Certificate of Need was the last major hurtle before Wellstar could start. last I heard the Hospital completion date was 2014 but I might very well be wrong. It is also my understanding that the IT department and building will come afterwards. I understand your frustrations. I replace them all the time for customers just like yourself. I can't be sure what exactly causes them to fail but I can list common reasons. *Over Heating. I would be happy to recycle the computer for you. What happens to your computer depends on its age and whether it needs any new hardware. As for your hard drive I have a strict policy on hard drives which includes never selling used hard drives. I also ensure that the hard drive is destroyed by physically taking the hard drive a part and separating the platters which hold your data. Of course sending a drill through the drive is just as fun and affective! These thing happen more often then anyone one of us would like. I see this on a daily basis now in the form of spyware. Just like a fake text or e-mail spyware infects your computer and can do anything under the sun. The spyware that really worries me is the kind that disables your anti-virus program and installs its own fake anti-virus program. You'll be happily reading the news and an "anti-virus" program will pop up warning you about a virus. Your right satellite. I am very sorry. It seems that Avira made some changes that I was not aware of and now Avira (Free) would not be a good recommendation. Although, most e-mail providers already scan your e-mail prior to you receiving it there should still be an anti-virus program scanning your e-mail. Since you are asking... I tend to recommend AVG or Avira. Both rank in the Top 5 anti-virus programs. They also tend not to slow a computer down. However, Avira is not as "heavy" as AVG so consider using Avira with older PC's. I do not recommend the two big Anti-Virus software players....you know which ones! Keep in mind that no anti-virus program guarantees 100% protection. (Purchased or Free) Also, I believe Aivra and AVG come with an anti-spyware program built in. Thanks, Steven Computer Rescue

If you really do want to get your kid a computer or computer like device then I would recommend the netbook. Why? Because they are cheap and will play online games found on Facebook and pogo.com; for example. Children tend to be less careful while using computers in every way. This includes how they physically handle the computer, where they go online, and what they download. Be ready to accept the idea that the computer you purchase won’t survive to the next Christmas. I know... bah humbug... FYI: Avoid online game sites even those previously mentioned to decrease your chance
