  1. What about the chopper near Kroger at 278/61 yesterday around 6pm? Was that because of an accident I see mentioned in the thread around the post office? Prayers said for all those involved.
  2. I heard that new officers are elected this year. Can you confirm?
  3. That's great news. Thanks for posting. With 5 high schools now, I'd like to think we get a few good recruits out to colleges each year. I know every program can't be "great", but it is good to get us on the map. I'm a huge DAWGS fan. Only consolation to losing to Florida this past season was the field goal that won it was kicked by a graduate from Paulding.
  4. I was curious if any of the football players from Paulding's various high schools committed/signed today during National Signing Day for College Football.
  5. Preferrably S. Paulding, Hiram, Dallas area. Looking for decent stoller that can handle trail/park usage. TIA!
  6. I'm not saying there are mishandling of funds. A lot of the thread seems to insinuate there may be. My point was that I doubt the local Republican Party has anything to do with the issues that have been mentioned about contributions made to candidates. They don't force candidates to run Republican (most folks in this county are conservative, so candidates choose to run Republican). Also - the other point - if there are folks here that feel there is an issue with funding, payouts, contributios, etc then they should try to get it investigated. Comments shouldn't be made that throw citi
  7. I think until Will Avery came along, most politicians in Paulding County have chosen to register as Republican. It doesn't necessarily mean that any of the monies was funneled through the local party. I'm pretty sure those Political Action Committees and lobbyists donated to these candidates on their own - without getting approval of the local party first. I'm thinking we've virtually hijacked the post, and maybe the issue here is that truly folks should contact some of the investigative reporters if they want to see if SP's issue and any mishandling of funds could be exposed.
  8. Yeah. Just got a Nixle alert that all roads are now considered impassable.
  9. Ingredients 8 cups snow, or shaved ice 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Directions Place snow or shaved ice into a large bowl. Pour condensed milk over and add vanilla. Mix to combine. Serve immediately in bowls. Alternate recipe: Although you can also do this with about a gallon of snow, 1 cup of sugar, vanilla and then regular milk to desired consistency. I like this better, but try to use sweetened condensed milk if I have it, as it is already in liquid form and doesn't have to dissolve like sugar.
  10. Nail Salon needed this weekend. Not sure if we have any remaining that are American owned and operated? But regardless - I'd love some recommendations on a good CLEAN one with folks that listen to what you ask them about cutting/not cutting, etc. Thanks!!!!
  11. Had to bring this old topic back from the past. There is a new restaurant opening in Marietta called Georgia Rib Compay that is run by someone that was affiliated with Jilly's Ribs. It's pretty new. I think it was on Davidson Street near Lower Roswell Rd.
  12. Has anyone tried or heard of alternative locations to see at least part of the Blue Angels/Canadian Snow Birds that are performing at the air show? I have some that would not last to fight the crowd at Dobbins. A couple of years ago I tried the top of Kennesaw Mountain, but you realy can't see that much that far north.
  13. If it were like a Don Pablos - where they make their own flour tortillas there - and have AWESOME carnitas - then something different would be good. I like BBQ too - so the Briar Patch is one style, Jim n Nicks is another, and Rodneys or Merles still a little different. Most of our current Mexican restaurants, IMO, are very similar. Let's hope some variety will be in one of these new additions.
  14. I suppose I should not have made this a negative topic. Sorry about that. I am disappointed about more mexican - but maybe it will be a new twist - something a little different that we'll like. Does anyone have any details about the people opening this up or their menu choices yet? I know it's still early, but sometimes folks around here are in "the know".
  15. This morning I noticed a sign where Johnny Carino's was in Hiram. The sign said Huey Luey's Mexican Food. Does anyone have more details? I'm glad something is moving in to that nice facility, but do we really need another Mexican restaurant in Hiram? We have 3 of them and about 3 Japanese/Hibachi choices too.
  16. Thanks. My mom wanted to travel that way this afternoon. I had told her to take Mt. Tabor, but 381 is a more direct route.
  17. I didn't see a Nixle notification that the road was open yet. Does anyone know if it has been reopened?
  18. Haven't seen them yet - as I'm a PCHS grad from years past. BUT, I'd believe it has something to do with the awesome, talented, gifted, yet firm Mr. Davis. He was the best band director ever - and the Pride of Paulding always had great shows under him back in the day too.
  19. David's pick would have won. Still not sure why folks say the GOP's candidates. The party does not endorse a candidate in the primary. Officers don't endorse candidates in a primary. Individuals DO help candidates in a primary however. Really folks??? This is not about politics. Get over it - your guy won. This is about a tough situation for a family to be in. Wouldn't want to wish it on your own family would you? WHERE IS COMMON DECENCY AMONG THIS CROWD? (although most folks in this topic have been gracious and kind). And ANIMAL- throw the first stone. You are a despicable e
  20. I have moved over to digital, but I do have some film left for my film camera and some that had been taken already. Walmart nor Sams have film developing. CVS does, but it's hourly only so for double prints that is like $10 a roll. Anybody have recommendations of where to get film developed/printed?
  21. Maybe we should ask for live stream at the BOC Meetings. Wouldn't that be awesome? I know the results will be posted at the Watson complex as soon as the precint results are in. Pubby will probably have a staffer there to monitor results and post on here as well. He did last time.
  22. So, give us details. What are the plans to provide the needed jobs? I along with most citizens in the county commute to Cobb/Fulton/Atlanta to work. The tax digest is shot, and won't improve unless sales taxes or property taxes provide an influx of revenue for the County. What exactly under these circumstances can ANY candidate really do to provide jobs? Unless of course those Real Estate related jobs are the only ones that the commission cares about - like in the good ol days.
