  1. Do you have a list of the candidates that will be attending? I still need to do some research and figure out who to vote for in a couple of races. Seems like all of the DA candidates make some serious claims about what they can do or what the current DA's office has not done.
  2. Please tell us what Group this is? If you apparently already have some information, then perhaps without smearing, you could explain the group that controlled things? I had asked everyone on here before about the builders and developers groups - which I hear from a lot of older folks in the county that this group destroyed us. But not sure if that is the same group you are referring to in this post? Thanks in advance.
  3. So Collett is not a lifetime member of PC and his business isn't really what I'd call good ol boy. Neither was Jason. Not sure about the others, as they have lived her longer. Not sure that I see how they are all grouped together. I suppose I could see Jason wanting to get the hospital in or near his post, if that rumor is true. I suppose any candidate would like to see growth in their post, right? However it does take 3 votes of 5. I thought Jason was sort of an independent thinker. Vernon too - and he is a firm believer in managing debt effectively. Not to say that other candidates are
  4. What do all of these folks have in common? I don't see any industry or special interest in their resumes that match them up like is available for the other candidates mentioned having ties to the building association/industry. Thanks! I have not been self-employed, but I know the value of a dollar. I'm not sure that self-employment is a reason to vote for these candidates. It's more about how they would vote on matters that concern us, right?
  5. Thanks to you guys that included information in regards to my last post. Sorry I was out of town for the last couple of days and didn't get a chance to get back on. As I had mentioned I wasn't really sharing my opinion these candidates, but only asking if those builder/developer professions would matter to anyone. Some said that the old crew caused the problems. I think probably the builders and developers before the economic crash would "lobby" so to speak to get what they needed to make their money - and as building was exploding they were able to succeed with ease. Now some co
  6. So does that mean that we would or would not want a bunch of builders/developers in office to influence our future? I would try to read between the lines that you would be more inclined to want a variety of elected officials, right? I need to figure out how to do some digging around - as I would not want to post bad info. But if you know - isn't Larry Ragsdale, Tommie Graham, and David Austin's other business/income tied to building? And if we add more to that list, will it impact the decisions made like you referenced when it was all a bunch of developers in charge before?
  7. How great! I knew some kids graduating and they were praying for no rain.
  8. Just asking, not really offering an opinion here. Does anyone care about these guys being builders/developers and tied to that industry? I think NewsJunky said something about that bringing jobs to the county. I know a few old timers that harbor bad feelings towards builders/developers. Some used to live here. Made their money and moved away. My uncle believes that they scratched each others backs, got rich, and left us with the "mess" we have today. If there was just one running, that would be okay I assume. But what do you guys and gals think of all the ones that are running -
  9. I don't think the public can at this event. But there are 2 meet & greets that you can ask questions directly to the candidates (one on one).
  10. I heard the builders association meeting was a bit interesting, with even a little taste of "women shouldn't be in leadership positions" thrown out by one of the candidates. I would like to have been "a fly on the wall" to get a feel of how those in attendance took those comments. I've asked a few people about these candidates, and I thought an interesting proposition was made by one such person. They also hear Adam speak and said it seemed he may make an excellent fit on Economic Development/Business board. I'm not sure what board groupe we have here in the county. Apparently Adam can e
  11. Wow. Just Wow. I too am new here like the person a few posts up. I heard about this site yesterday as a good place to get information that helps people????? I didn't think women were allowed to be part of Good Ole Boys? I saw earlier post about staying silent during a tax increase issue. During this year's millage rate increase debacle, Adam spoke against this at the commissioner meeting. Todd was on the list of approved to voice opposition but stayed silent. Does staying silent mean that he too didn't do what was best for this county? Isn't this what was the lady was accused
