  1. You are right. It does start in the home. I guess when it comes down to the bullies threatening online, legally someone needs to step in. I'd hate to see another bright young man/woman take their life over it. I guess due to what I went through, it makes me look at people in a different light as an adult. I would never talk down to anyone who has less than what I have. I had a friend growing up who was also bullied, because they didn't have much. Now I did yell at some girl in the hallway in school one day for picking on her for having what she called "K-mart" clothes on. I have noticed in pa
  2. The state and cities have got to start cracking down on internet bullying. If there are no laws in Ga specifically for it, then they need to pass them. A girl in the mid west comitted suicide over facebook bullies. Well they did it at school as well, but tormented her online. I am looking for at home work. What a perfect opportunity for me. Hire me to crack down on them. I was bullied as well growing up, because of my leg that isn't "normal". I never took it to an extreme like making threats to kill or harm them, but I sure did wish they'd wake up with warts all over their faces. Karma. That
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piZy-7UBmyU This happened in NYC. Should we worry about people like this living in our own country? Everyone is focused on the quran burning set for 9/11. What about things like this happening on our very own soil?
  4. Thanks Cpl. : ) The news seems to make a lot of mistakes here lately. I have had to correct them on a few occasions on their facebook page for misinformation.
  5. I want to step in for a minute and talk about a discussion I had with someone who was in Lower Manhattan on 9/11. He also lost 2 friends that day. He saw the 2nd plane hit, and watched the twin towers come down. We talked about the mosque situation the other night. I wanted to post it already, but got side tracked with other issues on here the past 2 days. Anyway that is water under the bridge now. He said the people of NYC are not against a mosque being built in their city. It is the location. We must see things from their eyes. Here we all witnessed that horrible day on TV. They witnessed it
  6. I am not into Organized religion, but I do believe in God. The last church I attended had a pastor whose entire sermon was about giving the church more money. That was enough for me. I can pray or believe in God right here from my living room.
  7. From what I gathered the "them" are the radical Muslims overseas that stated by not building the mosque in that exact spot, is an attack on Islam. That is why I said that. I never said anything about discriminating based on religion. Nowhere in my response were those words used. What I said is are we going to allow Radical Islam to dictate what we do here in our country when they tell the Iman if the mosque is built in another location that it is considered an attack on Islam. It seems as if he is being told to build it there,or face back lash from Radical Islam. By whom exactly? That's what I
  8. I am the same way at lights and 4 way stops. I am glad that she and her Daughter are ok as well. I got the PM for her too, but I didn't get it in time to post it here. I am glad that someone else posted it. If I had gone through the tragedy that you went through, I do not think I could even drive next to a bus. So sorry for your loss. : (
  9. Pastor Jones Daughter said that he is a radical, and that she views his church as a cult. I read an article yesterday of an interview with her. Burning the Quran is not going to stop them from building it. The Iman even said if they do not build it in that spot other countries will view this as an attack on Islam. It really makes me question is someone threatening him if he doesn't build it there, for him to even make that remark? So they will go ahead with the building of the mosque to appease the terrorists? That's part of our problem today. We need to stop backing down from the terrorists,
  10. There is just so much craziness going on in this world. Thank goodness the boy didn't make it to school, if he did indeed threaten to do something today. My ex mother in law wonders why I want to homeschool. Well here is just one of many reasons, and the fact that all Douglas co. High schools are not up to par (all 4 on needs improvement list).
  11. The jaws of life were used, but when the story 1st broke all of the info was not in. He wasn't the one extracated. It was the other person involved. The Boston newspaper is where I read it.
  12. Just CRAZY, isn't it? My son goes to a school that has been on lock down on numerous occasions(Lithia Springs High school). I am happy that all turned out well. In this day and time, you really never know. I "want" to homeschool my son the rest of the way, but my meddling ex mother in law thinks that I am not capable of doing so. Anyway, that's another story for another day. I am just glad that the kids are ok.
  13. Yes, they are now saying he is ok. When it 1st came on TV they only said he had to be pulled out with the jaws of life, so of course I am sitting here thinking the worst. My teenage son is a Patriots fan.
  14. For me the Mayo clinic was my life saver. I always knew that I was different, but these Dr's around here just kept telling me that I had a large birthmark. After almost bleeding to death my Gynocologist of all people told me I should seek out a specialist. I sought help from the Mayo clinic. Immediately they knew what I had, and started tests. I did everything outpatient, but of course every person is different. I can't remember the exact hotel that I stayed at, but it had a shuttle bus to the Mayo clinic. Many of the hotels there in Rochester will have special rates for Mayo clinic patients a
  15. It's just coming in, so not much info yet. They said the jaws of life had to be used to pull him from the automobile. No mention of his condition yet. He is my son's favorite football player. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/extra_points/2010/09/report_brady_in.html
  16. You are not alone. Many people feel the same way. Something with the Iman isn't Jiving with me either.
  17. BINGO!! You said it well. I too say this all of the time. We have got to stop being the financial saviour of the world, and start worrying about our own people. We have borrowed and borrowed from China, and that's why I say at this rate we'll all be paying with Yen soon. We need to lower the corporate/business taxes to bring corporations here to America again. It also doesn't help that these "new" regulations passed in Washington will result in more small business job loss, which makes up the majority of our working force in America.
  18. I said a prayer for him before I fell asleep last night. How is he doing this morning? You are exactly right, we never know what tomorrow holds in store for us. None of us are promised tomorrow, so do hold your family close. That is why when I see members of my family arguing over silly things, I remind them of this. He has youth on his side, so I have faith that he will pull through this.
  19. That is good to hear, that he has no swelling. He is going to have a long recovery from this. I hear that the recovery from a broken femur is very, very painful. You said he went to Scottish Rite, correct? They are the best. My son use to see a pediatric neurologist there, because he had such an early onset of migraines.
  20. I do, but I go to see a specialist for my vascular malformation disorder. He may need to go to a seperate spot than I have gone to. It's a huge place. On a personal exp. level, he will get top notch care. The advice I have given to others who are traveling up there for the 1st time is to check out their web site. It is very informative in telling you what to expect. You can find local hotels, restaurants, rental cars, air travel info etc. on there. Have you by any chance checked to see if the Mayo Clinic in Fl deals with the specific issues he is having? Have you talked to any specialists up t
  21. I do not know if I'd call it losing our freedoms per se, but Big Govt. is controlling our lives more and more. Auto maker bailouts, bank bailouts, home owner bailouts, wanting full control of our 401 K's etc...All of these bailouts, and the economy is still tanking. We can't keep doing this forever. Something has got to give eventually, or we'll all be paying in Yen--China will own us all.
  22. Ok I know someone like this as well in regards to numbers. Is it some sort of superstition?
  23. Very, very unfortunate situation. Is it safe to assume that he did not have on a helmet if he suffered head trauma? The girl we knew that was killed on her 4 wheeler did not have one on. Her older sister started a facebook group in her memory called "Helmets for Heather". I pray for a good outcome here, and even though very tragic we should all use this as an example of what not to do on an ATV.
  24. I heard about a Hamas connection the other day. I want to say on Good morning America, since I normally watch it when I get my son gets up for school. I haven't heard anything else about it, so I assume it wasn't a big deal. It almost reminds me of this woman that worked for our CIA, and they wire tapped her phone. They found heavy ties to her and Hamas. She denies the claims. Dangit I can not remember her name, but she was on my friend list on facebook for awhile. I took her off of my list, because several people kept forwarding me documents showing her terrorist ties. Maybe her name was Na
  25. You are not the only one who feels this way. Some people are just pigs. I guess that is the only way I know how to put it. I picked up dirty diapers, drink bottles, beer bottles, fast food restaurant bags, shoes and even clothes out of my ditch area when I lived on Bakers Bridge Rd. I am very picky about my yard, and it must look nice. I would be out there picking the trash up, and cussing the entire time.
