  1. I'm not sure about mental illness, but Canine Assistants in Milton, GA provides assistance dogs for people with disabilities. Their dogs are trained more toward physical assistance, such as opening doors, retrieving dropped objects, turning on/off light switches, etc. They typically use larger dogs, though, as small breeds are not well suited for such tasks.
  2. Thanks for the info, guys!
  3. Is there an airport shuttle from Paulding County to the Hartsfield Jackson airport? We are flying out, but will be driving a vehicle back home, and would like to find the most economical way to get from here to the airport.
  4. We had lunch there today. It wasn't bad. We had the Philly cheese sandwiches with fries and cole slaw for $7. Didn't realize how big the sandwiches were, or we would just have ordered one and split it. We each took half a sandwich home for lunch tomorrow. We went in at about 1:00, and the only other customers there were a couple of guys who left soon after we arrived. A couple of ladies came in as we were leaving. So, there were more employees than customers while we were there.
  5. And to think, he could have been this guy:
  6. If companies don't pass along their costs to customers, they won't continue in business very long. Nothing new.
  7. From the articles, it sounds like it's not anything to get excited about.
  8. No. It's not the strongest eliminating the weakest. It's the fittest surving amongst the less fit. If the atmosphere should somehow be reduced in oxygen content, it doesn't matter how strong oxygen breathers are. The survivors will be the progeny of the animals that can survive breathing less oxygen. And, even at that, the fittest don't eliminate the lesser fit. They simply just survive and reproduce, where the least adaptable cannot.
  9. Last month, I went to a dinner party at Common Quarter in Marietta, and they had something very similar for desert. The cookie parts were red velvet, and the inner cream was cream cheese. They were VERY good, and probably had very few calories (not really).
  10. You never know what those Future Farmers of America will do.
  11. Looks like they are also looking for a mature piano player, which would be perfect for Subby.
  12. Many years ago, we lived on a lake in Mississippi, and had a dock in our back yard. We had a torrential rain, and our dock was submerged (the lake rose to within inches of our back door). When the lake level subsided, our dock had risen by several inches, and was no longer level. We had to have a contractor come out to fix it. He brought a lot of employees out, and as some were jetting the pylons back down into the ground, others were jumping up and down on the dock to drive it down. It was quite a sight.
  13. The wife just saw a couple of loose dogs in Dallas. A medium sized black dog and a small brown dog traveling west from Captain D's.
  14. So sorry to hear of your loss. We also had a pet that passed away over the weekend. We are having Button cremated, and all the arrangements are being handled through Dr. Lukert's veterinary office in Douglasville. I believe the crematory is the one mentioned upthread. They do have a selection of urns, and we have been using them for many years with all our pets, so we have a specific urn that we choose. I think it costs about $200 for a private cremation, which includes the cost of the urn. It is less expensive if you choose a multiple cremation, where there are other pets cremated at th
  15. This would have been only 12 years after Custer died in the battle at Little Big Horn. It also was the same year my grandfather was born.
  16. Rain on a parade? There must be a youtube video.
  17. If Willie Sutton were still alive, he also might be numbered among the accusers.
  18. Malaya. Without looking it up, can you recall the story line and stars?
  19. Tax day was March 15th until 1955, when it was changed to April.
  20. So, why does Obama want us to watch the Today show?
  21. I called ATT and it said there is a 30 minute wait time to talk to a service agent, due to high call volume. The strange thing is, one of our TV's is not effected, but 2 are. I reset the boxes, and this one TV never changed to channel 11. Strange...
  22. I was just sure it was probably going to be a Schlotzsky's.
