  1. My mom is interested in trying to take advantage of the home buyer tax credit this year. She tried last year to purchase a home, but got the run around from the agent and ended up giving up. Please know ahead of time that she doesn't have perfect credit. She is looking for a fairly low-cost home so that she doesn't have to rent any more. If you think you can help her out, please let me know and I'll give you information for her. Thanks in advance.
  2. I'm curious about how long this will go on, too. Will you take reservations?
  3. I think we'll just skip for now. He's decided in the last two days that he wants to join chorus. We already do scouts, and if he starts doing chorus, too, I don't know that we'll have the time to take up a sport, too. He's always changing his mind - one day this, the next day that...
  4. Uh-oh. He is not going to be very happy.
  5. My son is in 3rd grade and has decided that he wants to play fall baseball this year. Can anyone tell me when registration is? We've been in scouts for 6 years, this being his third year, so I have no idea when the registration for baseball is. Thanks in advance for your help.
  6. Grand Asian I - At Town Center Wal-Mart (okay) Grand Asian II - Hwy 41 in Best Buy shopping center (better) Dynastic Buffet - Piedmont Rd @ Hwy 5 in the DMV shopping center (okay) Atlantic Buffet - Hwy 41 past Sam's (this is one absolutely TERRIFIC) There also used to be one in Douglasville in the Toys R Us shopping center, but I haven't been there in a couple of years. It wasn't nearly as good, and they charged a considerable bit extra to add crab legs to your meal, whereas with the rest of the buffets, they are included.
  7. LOVED IT!!! I knew when the started pointing the finger towards Jimmy that there was no way that it would end up being him. I almost thought that it was going to end up being Abby.
  8. My husband is leaving for camp again - this time with the youngest one going to Bert Adams for four days. They are considering taking bikes, but my husband would prefer to haul them on a bike rack. Does anybody have one of the racks that plugs in to a Class 3 hitch on the truck? He says the bed will have too much stuff in it to put the bikes, and he doesn't want to take his bed cover off. If you could PM me with what you want for it, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks.
  9. That's not a bad price, but for some reason I really want the sidewinder one - although i don't want to spend over $400 on it. Maybe I'll just go with the simpler one. After all, it is a slide, and they're going to have fun on it no matter what.
  10. Great - now I have to slow down on my way to camp tomorrow. JUST KIDDING!!!
  11. I would say that my decision is made then - no rental. We buy, that way we can get more than 8 hours worth of use out of it for the money.
  12. That was my thought exactly.
  13. What is the one you saw at Sam's? I saw the Bansai Sidewinder Falls at Target, and that is the one that we are thinking about buying. They've sure come a long way since the Slip-N-Slide.
  14. Yes. I'm leaving work at lunch and heading up there. Counting the hours.
  15. Does anybody know when the scores for the retakes will be in? And how parents will be contacted with them? Phone, mail, etc.??? Thanks.
  16. Waiting for my two other guys to get home from summer camp on Saturday - we'll probably go see it either on Saturday afternoon or Sunday.
  17. I would bring my son, but he's attending Surge camp this week from 6-9 pm. Hope you have a great turnout though.
  18. We haven't changed how much water we use either, although the hubby is planning to pressure wash our deck when he gets back from camping this week. I really hope we don't fall back into drought conditions - I promised my youngest son that we'd get one of those water slides and have his friends over for his birthday in August. That is the only change that I plan to make this year.
  19. The ridiculous pricing is the reason I quit going to concerts - I used to go to several every year. I can think of much better things to spend my money on than paying $80-100 for ONE concert ticket these days. Geeze - I'm starting to sound like my grandpa.
  20. How do you CONTACT your Commissioner? I sent an EMail to the Board about 3 weeks ago and haven't heard a word back. Can't even confirm that the message was opened. I am a 3 year Paulding Co. resident now and have heard that it isn't unusual for the Commissioners to ignore the voters (unless it's election time, of course). Is that true? We have been in Paulding County for just over 8 years. My husband owned the house before we even moved into it, though. He's been going back and forth with the county for over 10 years about water problems in our back yard. Several years ago, they ha
  21. Thank you very much. I think it's a nice boat, too, but I highly doubt that it is worth $2,000 more this year than it was last year. Sheesh - it seems that Paulding County might be trying to take advantage of those with boats to try to make up for some of the budget shortfall. That's about as fair to me as it is to tax someone extra just because they buy tobacco or alcohol. I believe that we are going to, too, although in your case I would most definitely appeal. Boats just don't go up that much in value!!! It's impossible.
  22. I just went on to try to get some tickets and there were no seats for 4, then none for 2, but I found 1 in the $49.50 section. When did Ticketmaster start charging $11.30 as a convenience charge??? Since when was that convenient??? That is absolutely ridiculous.
  23. Our house only dropped $580.00 in value, but I would be hard pressed to get what they are saying the market value is - $ 115,000.00. I know good and well we couldn't get that for our house if we were to put it up for sale today. On the other hand, the value of my husband's boat supposedly went up $2,000.00 - is that even possible? Anyone ever appealed personal property other than their home?
  24. So how do you get samples? I've never bought homemade soap, and my skin is extremely sensitive - I can't even use Dove soap.
  25. That sounds great! I might check on the pricing for that. We are going again in June with Cub Scouts.
