  1. That was a good one, both of em. ETA: It was the "Oh Dear Jesus" that made it so great.
  2. I am flat shocked that you can no longer buy this at your local grocery store. No wonder the country is going to hell in a handbasket. (I am not kidding, we sold the heck out of it when I ran grocery stores)
  3. I just have to wonder what Herb has to say about this topic.
  4. At least he notices, here there just treat me like one of those crazy people in the park. You know they are there and they are talking, but you just walk on by like they weren't there and never hear what they say. :onofthesedaysthoughiwillshowthem: Ooops, please ignore that it just slipped out.
  5. I have a soap box, I use it quite often, but you are welcome to borrow it when I am not using it. That would mainly be when I am sleeping.
  6. This is a bad bad thread. Leaving and never coming back to this thread. I am suprised that lighting doesn't strike most of not all of you.
  7. Just my opinion, but LPPT did not do any badgering. I thought she was the voice of calm and reason. But that is just MHO. (hah, getting better at these letter words)
  8. Funny you should use Gone with the Wind as an example. As I was typing about character actors of the past, Hattie McDaniel was one I was thinking about. She gave Gone with the Wind just the right touch of humor, humanity and grounding it needed. I almost gave her as an example of what I was talking about.
  9. I doubt that many know about Hosey and the rocks in Forsyth. Ahh, dear old Hosey. You had to love him, feeding the poor at Thanksgiving, sleeping at red lights, getting Oprah to come to Forsyth County and always wearing his overalls. Not to meantion what he did in the early 60's, most do not know that Hosea went in and took the beatings and then Andrew Young came in and negotiated the peace. Edited for: From, feeding to poor; To, feeding the poor
  10. You are going to get one of these? Cool! Definition of ANDROID : a mobile robot usually with a human form
  11. My father, who knew movies and movie actors (even the bit part players) used to say that what todays movies were missing were good character actors. In the "old" days, there were actors that made a good living and a lot of movies and they were always character actors. Quite often the movies that are considered classics would suffer greatly if not for these character actors. I agree with my father, it seems in todays movies that you tend to miss out on these great character actors of the past.
  12. I have been trying to explain this to people for the last 30 years. Most kids (anyone under 35) have no clue what a good movie is. This is what I hear when they watch an older movie, "it is so slow". That is called building the character and the plot, you have to "watch" the movie. In the new movies you can miss 15 minutes and not miss anything that has to do with the plot, because there is no real plot. There are exceptions to this of course, Unusual Suspects for examle is a good new movie.
  13. A little off topic, but even after I didn't believe or go see Santa, we still did Santa. When I was around 13, my mom asked if I still wanted Santa to come or did I just want the presents the normal way. I told her I liked having some new gifts under the tree in Christmas morning, so Santa came until I moved out. I still like those last minute surprises, if and when they come.
  14. I ain't even gonna joke about this one being me. (might get killed before anyone knew it was a joke) Sorry there are so many....well you know what they are...people around.
  15. Talk to my ex, she has it along with a couple of other things I sure have missed.
  16. Sorry about that, I was just feeling all silly and goofy today.
  17. There is one positive thing you can say for the people involved with this situation......they didn't paint the road.
  18. I was rear ended while sitting at a stop light in Douglasville one Saturday around 2pm. There were two early 20 something boys in the car. The driver did not have a DL and was not the car owner. The passenger whose parents owned the car, did have a DL but he had been drinking. Long story short, within 5 minutes of the cops showing up they were both in handcuffs and in the back of the police car headed to jail. The driver for driving without a license and the passenger for giving false information to a police officer, he told the cop he was driving and not having insurance. My insurance c
  19. Sooooooo, losing the boxspring was fairly easy for you.

  21. Grocery stores don't carry it anymore? You used to be able to buy it in the grocery stores. Buying it in a grocery store may have gone the way of "Things you don't hear about anymore".
  22. For anyone who may wish to know, there is a Meth Anonymous meeting in Douglasville. I would think that they would be able to find out more about it on the internet.
