I, like you, am a native southern and I always tell people that I don't speak English, I speak southern. I would love to know what country they thought you were from. I may be wrong about my guess, but my guess is that the mother ticked off so many people, school officials, law enforcement and the county court officials, that she basically talked her way into a charge. I agree 100%, in fact 200%, that all people who use drugs and alcohol do so because they like the effect brought on by those substances. That is true for the casual user or drinker or those who are harder users and drinkers and those who are addicted.
