Another day, another mass shooting.

If it happens in the middle east, "climate change" is the problem and we need to do something about that. If it happens in the US, guns are the problem and we need to do something about that. #DoubleStandard -
Paulding's issues. Why can't we do better?

That is the point I was making. Let's say we did have commercial flights at Silver Comet and they stop at downtown Dallas, as it is...well...it's better to not say what they would think. -

Another one of them wacky white supremacist. Anyone check his FB page for a rebel flag? Any time you get a woman involved in the shooting or bombing or whatever, it's most likely going to be Muslim terrorists. We can't even get our women to cook and clean anymore. (at least I can't, she has this crazy idea that I can do it myself ) -

Exactly! Where are the cries of "get out of the way, you are holding up progress", "you are stopping jobs from being created", "you are costing the county tax income from new businesses"? Hey, if the residents and the elected officials want to keep the city of Dallas looking like it did in 1970 or '80, that is their choice. But don't be crying about others who are trying to keep the rest of the county from certain changes. I'm a big believer in it's your property, you can do with it what you want. But I am also a big believer in what's good for the goose is good for the gander. -

I understand your points.Have you been to the square, parking is not much better there. There is parking available in Dallas, just like in Marietta, you have to park and walk. The buildings around the square were not originally set up for restaurants, but the city encouraged those businesses to renovate and open. Students eat, students love all kinds foods. I don't think you and I disagree much on this topic. But until the city of Dallas...wait for it...promotes growth and progress and welcomes those who are not part of the "good old boys" network, Dallas will never be anything more th -

Dallas, the actual city of Dallas, has done very little to support growth and business inside the city limits. That is why it looks the way it does and why Hiram has nice new restaurants and businesses. I knew someone that opened up a restaurant in the city of Dallas, he eventually moved to Hiram because the city fought everything he tried to do to promote his business. Hiram worked with him on all his promotional ideas. If the city father's wanted to, they would promote the same type of restaurants and businesses that surround the square in Marietta, what a great place to go and eat. How -
Off topic Our bus driver was a retired military guy, a short, tough yankee named Blackie, who smoked unfiltered Camels while driving and ran a no nonsense bus. You could only stand up while the bus was stopped, there was no horseplay allowed and if you broke the rules too many times or just once bad enough, Blackie would stop the bus, wherever it was at, and made you get off and walk the rest of the way home. It was sorta like baseball, if he had to stop the bus three times and make you walk, you were out of the bus riding game. I never knew anyone that had to walk more than once. All

The problem is, there is no one with experience in the aviation industry selling our airport! It doesn't matter what you are selling and what bells and whistles it has...if there isn't someone with knowledge and contacts, who knows how to sell, out beating the "streets" every day and selling it. It is unfair to Mr. Swafford to put the task of selling our airport on his shoulders. He neither has the time or the experience to do that job. I would be camped out in the office of whoever is responsible for the management and growth of McCollum Airport and be picking their brain as to w

First off, he asks me to define all. He is playing games and I am sick of people playing games. I said what I meant. Then he (I guess it is a he since you say it is) says that the only JR High crap I want stopped is what I disagree with. "You only want those you disagree with stopped." I personally do not think the lawsuit is JR High crap. You might could say it was wrong or misguided or that you (you in general, not personally) disagree with it, but it's not JR High crap. I no longer have the patience to deal with people that are either refuse to listen with an open mind about what

I'm surprised someone as psychic as you would stay in Paulding after winning the big lottery. You have no clue what I am for and what I am against. Even when I write it down for you, you still don't get it. Please put me on ignore as I choose not to deal with people that can't read and comprehend what they read. In case you missed it, just to make sure you get it, you're a moron.

People have the right to sue. Who pays the plaintiffs' lawyers isn't any of my business. The fact that my county is delaying the suit and costing me money, is my business. Go to court, get it over with and let's move on. It amazes me that when we are discussing the safety of the US and it's citizens against a deadly threat, everyone starts worrying about "collateral damage". What about the "collateral damage" to this county's taxpayers? The lawsuit isn't going away, get into court, get it adjudicated.

I have no clue as to the answers to your questions. But I think it was about an ethics violation. I think it is obvious as to why it was handled in that way and why the 3 commissioners who were handed the papers, were handed them in that setting. ETA, the only other commissioner at this time is Mr. Austin and if he needed to be served, I presume he was...off camera and not in public. I just wish that all the JR High crap would stop, on all sides.

Did someone mention healing?
cookies are sweet replied to cookies are sweet's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Don't sweat it. It was just some thoughts running through my head after reading a few other threads. Just for the record though, my post had nothing to do with politics, ISIS, liberals, conservative, crime, LE, Muslims, home cooked meals (which btw, the wife cooked a nice one last night, I enjoyed it) or even the tunnels. -

I have typed and deleted several replies, not because they were ugly or argued against your post, but simply because there is really no way to reply to a post that is so far off from what my original post was about. It is like telling someone how to make ice cream and they reply with a rant about killing cows for food. You know I wish you the best. -
I am far from perfect (don't tell the wife, I don't think she knows) and even though it often takes some time to get to it, I have learned how to "heal" painful things that have happened to me. Sometimes it takes other people to help point stuff out (either professional or nonprofessional), but the biggest thing is, I have to want to "heal". One of the major things I have to do is adjust my thinking, sound easy, but it ain't. Example: Back in 2005 a guy who worked for the same company as I did, wanted to create his own little fiefdom. He didn't want to do this because he felt it would

My understanding is that it was complaint that was served on Mr. Collett, Mr. Pownell and Mr. Crowe concerning a town hall type meeting that Mr. Collett had last month. It is my understanding that complaint alleges that Mr. Collett did not give the proper amount of notice, 24 hrs, about this meeting. Of course social media had postings and re-postings about the meeting, for weeks before the meeting, I think even on here. I personally think that having these type of meetings can only help serve our county and ourselves. I guess since we have these town hall type meetings at least 3-4 times

The russkies have always known how to take care of terrorists. Remember back in the 70' & 80's when the middle east and other terrorists groups were kidnapping government officials and wealthy businessmen and holding them for huge ransom amounts, in order to get money to fund their terrorists groups? Well, they left the russkies alone. Why? Because when they did kidnap a russian government guy, it didn't work out so well. See, the western governments usually knew who had their people, they just couldn't prove it, so they really couldn't do much. But, the russians didn't play by the s

GBI investigates Deputy-involved shooting death

Apparently William Tarrant had numerous run ins with the law. From what I understand, he was arrested this last August for domestic violence and terrorist threats. Allegedly, he attacked his wife in public, throwing her out of the car and when a couple passing by stopped to help the wife, the wife told the woman who was coming to help her, to stay back, that he would shoot her. When the man got out of the car, Tarrant allegedly lifted his shirt to show his gun. (not sure if he pulled the gun) The people who stopped to help were a man and woman, who had children in the car with them, so if
