  1. I think you're right. Those people over there were downright nasty. The Highway was like that, too; wouldn't let anybody that disagreed have a voice. If the whole place is in agreement, the place collapses. Hopefully the political forum here will be more diverse and those people with the tact of a stick of dynamite will just stay away. More moderate voices will certainly be a welcomed relief.
  2. Teens can be manipulated as easily as young kids. Hell, adults can be manipulated by people in authority positions too.
  3. Ooooh! I forgot about the "Ask a nurse" thingy! Great idea!
  4. Thank you! I would say that I'd kiss you but someone might get the wrong idea. You know how the prudes can be. They are so full of mumpitz.
  5. OK. If that is the situation, I would start drinking heavily right now or go the ER. Hope you feel better! Let us know how it turns out. FWIW = for what it's worth.
  6. The ER people are wonderful and all but they are great if you have a severed limb, not an infection. All they will do is give you some different meds and tell you to call your primary doc again. Best thing to do is, FWIW, call the primary doc again on Monday and beg with the all kinds of "I'm really dying" words. Take all the meds in a plastic bag to show them. If you could throw up while you're in the waiting room, that would really help, too. If it gets worse, go to the ER. Otherwise, it's a wasted $100. Or you could always go to Marshall's and buy some shoes and a new outfit. Ma
  7. I think (and God knows until the SEC games come on tonight, I will have drank enough to make me stop thinking altogether) that what the site did was estimate the names in a public data base with the percentages of the population and how it votes. In other words, Paulding is 90% Republican (I know - crazy) with at least half of those Tea Party Hangovers (even more scary than Clinton at a Mistress Convention). So the site just takes the names it has in some public data base and randomly assigns the party affiliation. The goal of the site is to get people to sign up, pay some money and "correct" t
  8. Oh, I'm good. No apology is necessary. Now if you wanted to - really wanted to do something nice for me - I would like to have Brad Pitt's phone number. Can you arrange that? Please? Thanks, Shug! Or maybe a six pack for while I'm watching the games today with my husband. Make it a multicultural purchase with Bud, Bud Lite, Mich, Mich Ultra, and some Coors. Then if you wanna add some immigration policy, a bit of Amstel, Corona and even some Heineken, since that would show no bias to any foreigners or domestics. Just having some fun. Have a good day!
  9. Wasn't referring to anything and I didn't even post in those threads. I'm just commenting on the drama that seems to follow. Is it caring or is it getting all up in somebody's bizness? Jiggy with it. If it had been anyone even remotely associated with you or your clan, I'm 100% certain you would have been notified and told us all in excruciating detail the particulars. Life is too short so why worry?
  10. Looks like the policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is going to be settled by slowly seeing the courts handle it since Congress hasn't the guts. This is news for every person in ever county in the nation. Washington Post.
  11. Don't mis-dial the number for China. I did that once and ended up with a dozen egg rolls and a gallon of cashew chicken delivered to my door. And they forgot the damned duck sauce, too. So be careful.
  12. If you will check it out for yourself and report back to us, I would appreciate it. You won't see much from Paulette right now because I think she knows a debate with anyone with a room temperature IQ or higher will have the upper hand. That is just my observation based on my years of interaction with her, but what do I know. I'm just a dumb blonde with a mortgage, in need of a new car and another 4 pairs of shoes, a not-so-great husband and a fantasy boyfriend that has no idea I exist. OK. Maybe I'm exaggerating about the husband and boyfriend but I'm adding some Stephen Colbert to the d
  13. Have no kids at either school and could not care less about high school football. Thanks for pouring the cold one with the slice of lime!
  14. That is so comforting to know you stand by that position. Have you considered calling North Korea and asking them about their nuclear plans also?
  15. I have to ask, are you an ambulance-chasing drama llama, always caught up in whatever accident or medical emergency that befalls any human being within a 30 mile radius?
  16. I will ask if missing 10% of the work days is acceptable? Then I will ask if you are willing to do the research and find out of others missed that many days (they didn't, but you aren't going to take my word for it). If it can be shown other BOE members didn't miss that many days, will that satisfy you? I doubt it will but excuses are more fun to play with, I'm sure.
  17. Since I go to many of the meetings, I can assure you that her lack of attendance is not the norm. If that sort of participation were the norm, you would hear about it in every election. Let's use some common sense here. If you want to check this out to see for yourself, it is all public record. I haven't looked at those records myself and am only speaking from the meetings I attended but you should satisfy your own questions with personal research. You will not be disappointed. You should also check out the attendance policy since there are only a limited number of excused absences all
  18. East Hiram? When did that school open?
  19. Permission? Are you serious? A BOE member doesn't get permission like it is garnered from a teacher to miss class. She was elected to do the job. If she couldn't do it for some reason, she should have done the honorable thing and resigned to let someone who could be there more than that do the job. We paid her to be there. She wasn't. It should be noted that even students who are tardy or absent that many times will fail the classes. Obviously we didn't hold the BOE members to the same standard.
  20. That many times is not "stuff happening" but "not doing the job she was paid to do."
  21. May want to give that little bit of second effort. The Argonne Cross was put up by a private organization, not the American taxpayer. The Canadian Cross of Sacrifice was given by another nation, not the American taxpayer. All groups would be free to erect their monument if they meet the same requirements, whatever they maybe. I am certain you can see the difference between not using tax payer money to erect a monument and using tax payer money to do so, since the latter gives the implication that there is a religion out there favored by the government.
  22. It's the same thing when people say they don't believe in evolution. Truth is, they don't understand it, so they say evolution is not true. What we have here, is a failure to communicatecompute the issue.
  23. What about them? At a private memorial, nothing is wrong with it. This wasn't a private memorial. Just because private money is used with tax payer money doesn't make the Constitutional violation any less wrong.
