I don't think whether you eat chicken at an establishment is going to hurt or help the communists producing books in China. I got bigger problems to deal with than whether the toy my kid got for free in a happy meal is made in China, or whether the CEO of the company that provided the toy is for or against gay marriage. Just give me my food in a timely manor with friendly service and to each his own.

If we're bringing manufacturing jobs to the county that isn't really going to help those that are commuting into Buckhead. It will bring some white collar jobs, but it seems the majority would be blue collar. I'm not arguing that it's not a good thing to bring industry to Paulding, just wondering about all the people who complain about their long commute.

I thought the widening of Macland Road was given in the list of projects for the TSPLOST? My link That says TSPLOST will pay for the Macland widening. So are we starting work in anticipation of the TSPLOST passing?

Theoretically a big business would bring in jobs that pay a wage that could support a family, unlike most retail. But that's assuming the business that comes in doesn't just bring existing employees in, and that there are people qualified that live here to fill those positions.

It is my understanding, and I may be wrong, but in regards to the movie studio, I think they are hiring union workers from places in Atlanta. So I don't know that it brought any permanent Paulding County jobs. However it is actually up and running, so assuming we didn't let them operate tax free they should be bringing in some taxes as well as bringing people out to this area in hopes to relocate or spend money on their brakes or on their drive to and from work.

I know with the city of Hiram there were stipulations on how the money had to be spent, not specific to the project, but general guidelines. But that was SPLOST money, I assume it's the same with the stimulus money

I asked my husband last night what he would do if I started taking our girls to pageants, would he come along and be a pageant dad. After about an hour of laughing he said THAT AIN'T HAPPENIN'.

I got suckered in to watching. The thing that shocked me was that she said it was Bella's 30th, or something close to that pageant, and that it takes 2 weeks to get ready for a pageant. The little girl was 24 months old, how much time has she spent just being a kid. Also didn't like the fact that they thought there was something wrong with the pageant because they the parents didn't line her up when they were told to.
