  1. been having that issue for a while. just fyi a friend of mine had her directtv box catch on fire last week. apparently its more common than directv wants people to know. when hhe called directv to report it they referred her to their legal department
  2. My first computer was a Commodore 64/128....I had summer and winter olympics on flopy disc...It was AMAZING, and I remember when we first got AOL and I would use up my 10 hours in the first week of the month.
  3. Being that I'm a husky girl I have sympathy for her and others that struggle with weight. It's not easy for some to maintain or lose weight. And really hard once you get past the point of no return.
  4. Dial up internet.....yeah, I'm not as old as some of you
  5. Correct, Gerald Ford said it. Does that make it any more or less true?
  6. This is great, it won't be lucrative for the eatery to offer it to every patron, so no one will get a discount.
  7. Last year I think I got maybe 5 regular old card, the rest were all photo cards, so this year we jumped off the bridge with all the others and switched to the photo card.
  8. I wish I could be picked for the jury. You would LOSE your case and should be fined for wasting everyones time. GET A LIFE.
  9. I watched it just because the show is suppoesed to be set in Alabama, reminds me a lot of Gilmore Girls, which I think is because A.) they use the same fake town set as Gilmore Girls, and B.) It's from the makers. I used to love that show.
  10. I'm sorry, but it takes more than 350 lbs to make someone sedentary. At my heaviest I was more than that (I was also pregnant). I managed to go to work every day, clean my house, do my laundry, even groom my wild dogs. I don't necessarily disagree with the point your making, but I would venture to guess people can probably be mobile ans self sufficient up to about 450lbs. I've lost 100lbs from my heaviest during my pregnancy, I'm amazed that I used to carry that much weight around. I still have a lot more to lose (I'm a big girl), but no one enabled me to get to my heaviest. I did it all on my
  11. When is the drawing, I might need to drive to GA to get a ticket
  12. LPPT, I think your point is valid. Yes, people become overweight from their own actions, but it doesn't mean they aren't human and don't have feelings. Being rude or hurtful to an obese person is not going to make them lose weight. Most would not choose to be over weight, and it is hard to lose it.
  13. I know when I was pregnant I put on close to 20lbs of fluid weight in the last 2 weeks of pregnancy, so if she was there for a month I guess it would be possible.
  14. That's my issue with it, she got there, how could she not be allowed to come back? I think the issue is that there are no black and white rules about obese people flying, and so nothing is uniformly enforced.
  15. The ads don't bother me, the old Kindle had random pictures on the start up screen. I just swipe and move on.
  16. I guess I just don't understand. I have a 2 two year old. When we are at home she is NEVER out of my sight long enough to end up anywhere. Even when we are sleeping she is in a crib with a baby gate on her room. There is not enough time for her to get anywhere without me noticing. This conversation came up last night too when we were watching something like America's Funniest Home Videos of kids covered in food, paint, shaving cream, what have you. If I haven't seen my kid in 30 seconds I go looking for her. She is locked out of things she shouldn't be playing in. I just have a hard time under
  17. I have no sympathy for someone injured while committing a crime. You put yourself into that STUPID position, now you have to deal with the consequence.
  18. I personally don't think that there need to be soft skill classes. Those are things you learn at home, in team sports, in social groups etc. Why take more time away from teaching fundamental educational things like reading, writing, and arithmetic to teach interpersonal skills. It won't matter how good you are at team work if you can't tell me what 10% of 100 is.
  19. For those of you that are looking for tablets, just thought I would let you know my thoughts on the new Kindle Fire HD. I have had the Kindle Fire for about a year, I love it, it's great for what I need which is reading books, surfing the internet, and using Facebook. I wouldn't have even considered the upgrade to a new one, but it was given as a gift. I upgraded to the 8.9, so it's bigger than the original Kindle Fire, and the screen is EXTREMELY clear. It seems to move a little faster between apps. I like the fact that it has a camera so I can use it to skype with family back in Georgia.
  20. This was my exact model and color. It was my mom's 1993 Z24 Cavalier. I got it in 96 and drove it back and forth to college until I got a 2001 malibu my Senior year.
  21. We saw one, probably over a year ago opposite the greystone power building on 278. It was out in broad daylight. I thought they were nocturnal
  22. Holy Jebus, for $200.00 I think I'll just keep mopping.
