My fifteen year old son (when he finally got up) told me I should go get me some vanilla ice cream since it's mother's day. At least he knows I love vanilla ice cream. I told him he's known Mother's Day was coming, he should have already bought me some.

I don't want a gift - if I wanted one I would go get it myself because I know what I would like. I don't even expect a card - even those have gotten too expensive. Just to have someone put some thought into it, make a plan. Something really simple is good for me.

That is really young to lose your mom. I have been more irritable and emotional than usual lately. My mom passed 5 months before my oldest got married in 1999 so she has missed seeing all of my grandchildren. She would have really enjoyed them. At least we had our moms until we were adults. I feel so sorry for children that lose their moms.

I believe there are two members that recently lost their mothers - Lowrider and PWilhelm (correct me if I have the names wrong). I just wanted to let you know that I was thinking about you today. Today is always hard for we who have lost our mothers and we know how you are feeling today. I hope you are finding comfort in your memories.

I know how you feel. Mother's Day has always been just another day for me. I did receive a card from my middle son that lives in Albuquerque. I hope you enjoy your day with your children. Do the things you like to do and eat what you like to eat. Give yourself a Happy Mother's Day even if no one else does. Happy Mother's Day Jenilynn!!

Another thing that bugs me is chewing gum on the ground - you don't see it when you're walking so you step in it and it is nasty and a pain to try and clean off your shoes.
