How awful and scary!!

Are elementary students too young to even be taught something as horrible as slavery in America and the Holocaust? Maybe it should be left until Middle School where there are separate history classes.

And then on the news I heard that 3 teens from Carroll County stole a school bus.

I don't know, it just seems like it's making light of a horrible part of our history by putting it in a math word problem.

It seems to me that someone wants to keep things stirred up. Didn't they learn from the uproar in Gwinnett that these kind of "word problems" would stir parents up? Of course it should be taught in history class but it seems like this kind of question being carried over into mass class is rubbing it in.

My feelings exactly. I am going through some things with my teenage son but they seem like nothing compared to these posts. I wonder if there were signs of problems when they were very young or if something happened medically (prescription meds or diet) that caused a change.

I don't understand what happened either. I heard the recording and it sounded to me like the boy screaming for help, it didn't sound like Zimmerman's voice. When he was told not to follow the boy, why didn't he do what he was told. The young man went to the store to get Skittles for his little brother and gets shot for walking back to his home. He said he was acting strange. He was probably listening to music and dancing as he was walking - yeah that would make me feel threatened and suspicious too. Why hasn't Zimmerman been arrested while they are investigating this?

It's hard to accept that experts might be able to handle your child better than you because as parents we think that we have the answers regarding our own children and that love will win out. I hope you find the right therapists for your son soon and that you come to the best decision for your family.

I found an engorged tick on my hip in 1999 and went to the doctor, they did a lyme test and said it was negative. In 2000 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue without being checked again. A primary doctor did a lyme test in 2008 and said it was negative.

Did I hear correctly that the dollar amount of the damages was decreased to about $7500? By the way, I don't know what Bush, Clinton or Newt have to do with any of this.

What a mess for these students heading into what should be a celebration at the end of their high school years. Hard lesson learned, I hope. Hopefully they will be able to finish and graduate eventually, without felonies on their records.
