  1. Well I guess that might explain it. I do have one neighbor I think is doing a quick sale --is that what its called--but other than that--he didn't look like he was on the up and up (sorry to profile kindof) and it was a cellphone taking the pictures. Just kind of gave me a chill. You know --your perfect little life being scoped out by a stranger. Thanks for the input. That does help put my mind at ease a little.
  2. Just wondering if anyone would know why a nice black BMW with a young not well dressed guy in it, would pull into a sub. and just park and get out and take pictures. Never went up to a house and left before I could get a tag. Just thought it was up to no good---unless anyone else has a better explanation. Did anyone else see it in your neighborhood?
  3. I agree. We tried it not too long ago--I thought it was very dirty. We were the first family in on a Sunday afternoon. You would think before you open, you would take pride and make sure its clean---not. I still thought I would be positive--but it turned out to be a teen hangout of employees who by the way didn't take any pride in their appearence. The food was ok, but over priced, and the whole experience--lack of cleanliness, employees more worried about what they did last night--no thanks---I knew we wouldn't be back.
  4. Found you on FB, also need directions again, please.
  5. Thanks for posting those sites Sassy Tink. As a troop organizer, I too can help people who want to get involved and become volunteers. I deal with mainly Paulding County people, but I can always get you to the right person or area or school. I helped many people in Cobb as well. So if your interested in getting involved please visit the web sites listed or contact me!
  6. Thanks to several of you who private msg'd me. Its great to see others who are doing or want to do the same things for our children. If anyone out there knows of someone who would be great at working with Girl Scouts, send them my way. We can't do what we do without all the wonderful volunteers! College kids, Grandmothers, and dads also, make great volunteers!
  7. Make a difference---invest in the life of a girl! Girl Scouting offers a unique opportunity for girls to develop into the leaders of tomorrow. We cannot do it without your help! Every year, girls who want to participate in Girl Scouts are unable to due to the lack of adult volunteer leaders. Please help us meet the need for leaders to impact the girls in your community! If you or someone you know would be interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact me via e-mail @ tazjet@bellsouth.net I am currently looking for new leaders and co-leaders in the Paulding area. Girl Scouts
  8. HI, My GS troop collected cookies to be donated to the military. We always do. Brigade Quartermasters in Kennesaw used to ship our cookies free--just by putting them into shipments that were going out--but they've since closed their retail doors. I thought I had something lined up with a friends husband at Dobbins, but that too has fell through. Does anyone out there have a connection somewhere, or maybe know of a company that ships things overseas, that would be willing to ship our cookies to the service women and men overseas. It doesn't need to go to a particular person, just want som
  9. That doesn't really surprise me. Not sure if its stupidity, or lack of knowledge or short handed at the county level, but I know my first house--about 15 yrs ago, had some similiar issues. We ended up fixing things ourselves. Turned out many neighbors had the problems too. Now as I drive by my old house, I see the front yard has a nice sink hole in it. I called the county when I lived there and saw them bury garbage om the yards of new houses they were still building. Its disgusting what some builders do. In my current house, even though we contracted the builder--you get what you pay fo
  10. Did you know those temporary jobs pay around $12.00 per hour--to stand around--or go door to door. Money could have been better spent.
  11. I still use the phone book for many things. Since living in Paulding (15+yrs) I have missed the Marietta yellow/white pages. So much more info in them than what we are given out here. Every few years I'll get a family member or friend to give me their --outdated copy. At least it helps most of the time. I would love a yellow pages for Cobb County and maybe Atlant businesses for our county. Paulding doesn't offer much----yet---I know its growing.
  12. Well said. I still have kids in elem. school. It is very hard being the parent with values, trying to show kids responsibilities. There are so many stupid parents of young kids who let them watch TV with no morales and anything else being taught. I can't believe all the crap on TV, and parents of young kids actually think its ok--even young teenagers don't need to watch stupid shows about pregnancy and drama of dating while being a teenager. Its nice to see that some of you are on the same page as me, even though you have older kids. I can't keep them from seeing and doing everything, but
  13. Love everything coming alive again. Love the mild temps (we're supposed to have). Love gardening and watching everything grow. Hate the early heat. Hate the sore muscles--getting old stinks. Hate not having enough hours in the day to get all my inside responsibilities done and all my outside (only in the spring) responsibilities done. Love living in a free country where I can complain and just be happy!
  14. How about "Don't make me pull this car over!" the first time my husband got to say that--he felt he had arrived! We laughed about it.
  15. Me! Friday and Sat. night--Lost Mtn Blockbusters! Booth Sales Come by!
  16. I love those birds. They usually come through around Easter at my house. They eat every berry on my evergreens and my mahonia hollies. Looking forward to it. They are stunning.
  17. I would be a little embarrassed!
  18. I agree. They do the best they can. The weather reported earlier that it wouldn't get cold enough to stick--so they were doing the right thing to keep the kids--You can't please everyone all the time. Give them a break. Its life people--get over it! Be thankful for the things that go right in your life and quit blaming and bitching for stuff you can't control!
  19. As a close family friend, I cannot thank everyone involved for what a wonderful job with all the support and love given to this family. I know they really appreciated it. I know all the support touched my family. The people in Canton were fabulous. All the riders were great. Very impressive. I've never given a lot of thought to what all being part of the military family means, but I can tell how much it truely means to all that showed up to give thier support. You've changed my life, just watching the last several days. Thanks so much.
  20. Different Service Units receive on diff. days. One of Paulding's biggest groups get theirs today. So you should start getting your deliveries during the coming week. Booth sales start today and you should find them all over town. Also go onto the GS web site to find a location near you! Vote for your favorite cookie for a chance to win cookies for a year! Enjoy!

  22. I will tell the family to look on here. I'm not comfortable in giving a stranger personal info for them. You can also follow a lot of stuff on FaceBook also. Thanks,
  23. Currently it looks like sometime Sat. he will arrive at Dobbins in Marietta. If this happens, I'm not sure how we arrange a standing ovation of people lining the street. The funeral is looking like it will be Tuesday at 11 at a funeral home near Canton (has something to do with the proximity to the burial) which is going to be a military cementary somewhere near Red Top. As soon as I find out all things for sure, I'll post again.
  24. Hopefully we'll know something later today. It will get posted. Thanks for everyones kind words and support. This is really hard on the family. Kind words mean a lot to them right now.
