We tent camp too!!! They do have signs warning about the black bears, but the only problem we have had was leaving a tomato on the pinic table and going for a walk and the squirrels decided they wanted it! One even came running out of the back of the truck!! Make sure you hike to the big overlook. The view is amazing!! The lake is beautiful not sure if they will still have the boat rentals or the putt putt course open. We love Fort Mountain!!! Camped there three times this past Summer, wanted to go this month but every weekend is full. If you love donuts check out the new place in Chatsworth called Donut Palace. The donuts melt in your mouth!!! If you go down the mountain to Chatsworth, when you get to the red light across from the Courthouse turn left and Donut Palace is down on the right in front of a shopping plaza. Enjoy your trip

Fort Mountain State Park in Chatsworth is beautiful!! Great camping (went 3 times this past summer), nice lake, putt-putt golf, boat rentals and great trails to the overlook!!

Another great singer has passed away. Andy Williams died last night from a year long battle with bladder cancer. I have great memories of my parents playing his albums, especially at Christmas time. RIP Andy...

The PCSO must have realized that whoever they were looking for wasn't around since they didn't stay long. Two PCSO cars parked at the entrance and was walking behind a house with guns drawn.

Does anyone know why 2 PCSO with guns drawn were inside the entrance to Tanner Farm Subdivision yesterday evening around 8:00 pm?

102 in Rockmart right now, WOW!!

11 Alive said this morning that the heat index today will be 151 degrees. That's the heat and humidity factored in together is the way I have always understood it. Yes, their is a difference. I lived in Texas for a year and 101 out there compared to Georgia doesn't feel as hot.

I live 5 miles from Rose's in Yorkville. We have been here over six years now. Yes, it's a drive but you get used to it and it's nice to come home to peaceful country area than all the traffic in Hiram. From my house it's 8 miles one way to Rockmart and 12 miles the other to Dallas. Most of the time I shop at Wally World in Rockmart it's always nice, clean and ten times less crowded than Villa Rica or Hiram. The best mexican food is El Nopal in Rockmart and we go to Pizza Hut,and Rockmart also has some of the normal fast food places.

If it's the same guy I saw about a month ago he is getting around pretty good. I saw him at the intersection of 61 and Liberty Rd/Mirror Lake Blvd. in Villa Rica. Looked like the stand was a TV tabletop tray and he had a sign selling cotton candy to help pay the rent and help his wife and kids.
