  1. After a certain age, a Lifestyle Lift won't help some things.
  2. Good luck to those of you who are fighting it. You'll need it. Me-----Wounded warrior of the battle against a 19 house development at the end of our dead end street. Wounded warrior of the battle to keep the railyard out of Austell. I was part of a group trying to stop both. Now I'm in Florida, hoping and praying I don't have to battle to keep crap like that out of this county. Just solidify and come up with a goal that you can all live with and fight for that because like it or not, this will happen. Fight for the least impact on everyone as possible, keeping in mind that if ther
  3. I can't do that. I can't tell people no to their face. I just don't have it in me.
  4. No, it's not. If they have paid a sponsorship of some kind for the event, yes. And only then can they set up a booth where people can obtain literature IF THEY SO DESIRE. Otherwise, nope. It's not a time to advertise or push your political agenda. One reason why I don't go to parades now. I got sick and tired of walking away with a handful of junk from every politician running for office, every church in the town and half of the small businesses. Advertise some other way. A captive audience is not the place. True story. Years ago, I was at an event in Douglas County. Labor D
  5. How would politicians feel about people going around giving out flyers regarding something totally unrelated during their speeches? Think that would fly?
  6. A LOT has changed in Paulding since 1992. Now that entire event would be on youtube and on every media outlet around the world.
  7. My father, aunt, uncle and grandmother were right. Bringing public transportation to Cobb County would be a terrible thing. I moved because of the problems it brought. It WILL happen that way to Paulding, too. Look at the changes since 278 was widened. Anyone who wasn't around before that remembers when Kmart was THE store. There was almost nothing west of Kmart until you got to Rockmart because Dallas was so little and just in the downtown area. People, fight for your county. Just be aware that the laws are written to where it's pretty much damned be the citizens and praise be to
  8. It's QUITE an honor to be invited to the parade in Atlanta. It's a huge, huge deal for a marching band. I'm happy for them. They work hard all year (not just during football season or competition season) and it's great recognition for the students and the leaders.
  9. Yeah, but apparently it just pops up. EVERYWHERE. I have yet to see any "just pop up". Been looking, too.
  10. The drugs get there the same way people "accidentally" find porn while surfing the Internet. You know in all my years on this earth, I have yet to "just happen" across money, drugs or porn. I must be the unluckiest person in the world.
  11. Maybe you need to tell my daughter and son in law who live at the end of a runway at HARTSFIELD that their lives are destroyed and their home is worth nothing. They would and ask you what you been or smoking. IF the airport expands, they must comply with noise abatements. That would include installing noise dampening features (windows, insulation, etc) on EVERY home that is impacted. Those noise dampening features really work, too. I don't believe I've ever heard an airplane taking off or landing as long as my daughter was inside when she was on the phone. I've heard them loud and
  12. BTW, anyone who is opposed to the airport on account of the noise needs to come visit me for a week. Preferably during a warm week when we can leave the windows and doors open. After a helicopter just above the tree tops every 5 minutes, 24 hours a day 7 days a week, you won't mind those 747s. Or how about this, move where my daughter lives (for the next 7 days) and have a railroad track across a two lane road from you, that two lane road being a main thoroughfare between several manufacturing facilities and 285. And a railroad about a mile behind the house that operates 24/7 except d
  13. 747s at Paulding? Airport must be a hell of lot bigger than I thought. I saw a C130 come into Charlie Brown one time. Certainly no airplane expert though I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express in 2010. 747s need a LOT of room to land.
  14. They were there willingly. My neighbor has a menorrah and the brightest, most beautiful display of Christmas lights in the subdivision. And odds are, he is at the Christmas parade right now (we have ours at night). I used to work for two Jewish doctors. They celebrated both Hanukkah and Christmas. For their families it was Hanukkah and for the employees it was Christmas. They both always decorated their homes for both. Sending out Christmas cards was a bit frustrating because they wanted to send Christmas cards to the Christians and Happy Holidays cards to the non-Christians. Gue
  15. Personally, I think politics should stay out of any parade. ANY parade, whether it be 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas or homecoming. Parades are not the time to drum up votes or to get people to sign petitions.
  16. It really could be from AT&T wanting you to UPGRADE your service, not update your e-mail. They are very, very sneaky with their sales. I have gotten nothing from them but I no longer have AT&T phone service. And if on December 11, my e-mail goes away, I'll simply revert to one of my other accounts. It's not like it will hurt me none.
  17. I have bellsouth e-mail. Nothing. Hubby has ATT e-mail. Nothing. Yahoo, which both bellsouth and AT&T go through, has been doing upgrades. Having to "update" your e-mail sounds fishy, at best.
  18. As to the threats on FB, that's an easy fix. Block 'em. And I agree with the TPO IF it qualifies. From what I've been told, TPOs and restraining orders have requirements that must be met before they can be issued. No grandmother wants to believe her granddaughter is stupid enough to be around such a loser. She needs to be away from him as much, if not more, than you need him to leave you alone.
  19. Did they ever verify your identity? I hear you. The plan I found that I liked best has a $6000 deductible but everything except the doctor's charges go toward the deductible. Won't take long to meet it if I have surgery. At least all my doctors are in the network and the prescription co-pays are reasonable after deductible has been met. And this doesn't have a separate prescription deductible like my current insurance does, so that is a plus. This is for a bronze plan, too. I'm looking at almost $600 a month for JUST ME if I really do not get the "tax credit". I think this
  20. I have nothing to hide. That's why it is so frustrating that Experian couldn't verify my identity. Although it's possible that because I have a lock on my credit report, they couldn't verify me. My credit report is so secure even I can't access it. Trust me, everyone here in town knows who I am. They may not know me by name but they know who owned the house before we bought it and therefore they "know" me. Besides, what was personal? The PTIN can be verified and I believe that is public knowledge. My drivers license can be verified. The first thing our instructor at the fire
  21. InLa, I knew you had problems but didn't know if you had gotten anything finished yet. This is BEYOND frustrating isn't it? I simply could not believe that my identity had to be verified through a credit reporting agency. I've been filing tax returns for myself since 1973 and have been a paid preparer since 1996. I have a preparer ID number even! And they can't verify my identity? Ask the IRS. Wait until Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services hears about this. They currently have my application for a carry permit and are processing it. I may get on some terror watch
  22. As long as a doctor isn't rude, hateful or condescending, I can put up with a bad bedside manner if they know their stuff. However, if they don't know their stuff, I don't care how nice they are. They will be history with me. My current orthopaedist doesn't have a pleasant personality. He's not rude or hateful and he's far from condescending. He's kind of dry and all business. But he knows what he's doing and I overlook his personality. The funny thing is my chiropractor told me the ortho doesn't have the best personality around but said he felt that the ortho was one of the best in
  23. I seem to recall someone saying that they tried signing up but their identity had to be verified. I was just wondering first of all, who that was and second of all, did you finally get it taken care of. I know InLa had problems and I thought maybe it was Kim404 who had problems. I was wondering how your identity was verified. I sent in a paper application a few weeks ago. Got a call yesterday that it had been processed and I needed to call the health insurance market place to finish the application. Both people (the one who called and the one I called) said that I could complete the a
