  1. Marc Riley. Used to be a CM on here. He's in Rockmart but he picks up and delivers. PM me for his contact info.
  2. Stradial told you to say that?????????? And you're going to listen to that troublemaker? OK, Stradial, you know I love you man. We Smyrna natives gotta stick up for each other. That does not mean we can't tease each other though.
  3. I think that is the nicest thing anyone has ever called me on here. Doesn't mean she didn't think you're a hottie. Maybe she likes art glass.
  4. Here's a link to the information you need to get a replacement Social Security card. And no, you cannot do it online. Procedure is the virtually the same whether it is a replacement or original card. http://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/ss5doc.htm
  5. Obviously she thought you were a hottie.
  6. I loved Kroger because they were so close to where I lived. But I hated the wait. I have been in there when there was not one soul at the drive thru or inside and have them tell me it would be 2 hours on the prescription. This isn't all that bad if it's a cholesterol drug that you take regularly. This was pain medicine for my husband post bladder surgery. He was in extreme pain and what they had given him at the hospital outpatient surgery had worn off. I thought he was going to pass out when we crossed the railroad tracks in Powder Springs. So, I had to go back two hours later, literal
  7. My first car looked like Fred Flintstone's car.
  8. Might have. He is old enough to be her dad and a different race. But for the record, he is a hottie. I had a certified copy. They took that. It must have the stamp on it. I think my original birth certificate was on a stone tablet. It's an attempt to stop terrorists. It isn't supposed to make sense.
  9. Florida follows the federal requirements. And when they say "marriage certificate" they mean a certified copy of your marriage certificate. You can get them at the courthouse in the county where you were married. I think Cobb County charges $10 per copy. I personally think the person at the drivers license office wanted to give us a hard time. I just could not believe she took utility bills in MY name and my name only as proof of where my HUSBAND lives but wouldn't take a marriage certificate signed by the pastor and the two witnesses and it had an official seal on it showing we

  11. Oh gosh, I can so relate!! Hubby is on the Humana Walmart prescription plan. He thought that meant he had to go to Walmart so when I told the doctor we used Walgreens, hubby said that couldn't be right because his prescription plan was a Humana *Walmart* plan. I told him that he didn't have to go to Walmart and it wouldn't change what he had to pay. Doctor confirmed that was what he understood as well. Besides, it is 1.7 miles to Walgreens and over 6 miles to Walmart. I'm the one who usually goes to get prescriptions filled so by golly, I'm going where I'm happier going. If it costs a d
  12. Don't know of one in Dallas or Hiram, but Dr. Saltz and Dr. Edwards in Powder Springs accept it. Or at least they did a few months ago. You should have received a booklet from Medicaid listing the providers in your area.
  13. That's for sure. We already have limited choices here. A boatload of doctors less than a mile and a half from our house but not a one of them a primary care who takes Medicare. We have to go more than 10 times further away to a PCP who accepts it. If he stopped accepting it, we would be going 25 miles away to Pensacola to find one. A lot of people think because you have Medicare (or any other health insurance) you won't have problems getting health care. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sometimes it doesn't matter what you have because nobody around takes it. I ran int
  14. I still have to laugh about hubby and I getting our DLs here in Florida. I had my birth certificate, copy of marriage license (signed by the pastor and two witnesses), utility bills, a 1099 showing my Social Security number. Hubby had his birth certificate and Social Security card but no utility bills because they are in my name. They used utility bills IN MY NAME as proof of HIS residence but made me get a certificated copy of our marriage certificate to prove that I changed my name. And you have to choose a political party if you register to vote, which we did.
  15. What I meant was Medicare wasn't going to be changed for the people who are on it. They are still on it. IOW, they don't have to go through the exchange. Those are some pretty big cuts, too. Ouch! Yeah, let the seniors take cuts so that healthy 25 year olds can be on their parents policies. Just because it isn't thought to be genetic in origin today does not mean five years down the road it will be discovered to be genetic in origin. I was diagnosed with hemochromatosis in 1992. It was thought to be hereditary. The gene for it was discovered a few years later and
  16. You'll need: birth certificate (must be certified but I think a copy of a certified one will do--check the state website to make sure) Proof of residency such as utility bills. Social Security card or W2/1099 or anything basically that shows your SS# Here's a link to a full list. http://www.dds.ga.gov/secureid/accepteddocs.aspx Just be thankful you're not a woman who has taken her husband's last name and has been married more than once.
  17. This makes me feel better. We sat at the drive thru of a Walgreens for 25 minutes a few months ago. After that, we started going inside to pick up prescriptions. So much faster. Only about 20 minutes if you go inside. Went to get shingles shots. Wait was about 30 minutes to get to the pharmacy counter. Walked out. Went back a few days later, only about a five minute wait. Then found out it was going to be $400 for the two of us to get our shingles shots and we walked out again.
  18. My mom, bless her heart, was a long time smoker. My sister and I used to wave our hands around trying to get the smoke away from us and we would constantly say how bad it smelled to us. My mom stopped smoking and then later said she understood how we felt. She had NO clue it smelled the way it did. She apologized a number of times for putting us through that as kids. But, damage to our lungs was already done at that point. When we were in our 40s was no time to apologize. We were happy that she did, though. At least she understood what we had been through.
  19. Medicare wasn't supposed to change due to the ACA. But I have heard rumors that a lot of doctors won't be accepting it in 2014. Not that many do now. Maybe your uncle lost the supplemental policy he had. Those usually let you see any doctor. Medicare does not.
  20. As it happened, one came back available in this subdivision just today. We had seen it last week and really liked it but it literally went under contract while we were there. It's back today and we should have an offer to present tomorrow. We're going to help them get a house. We sold ours up there and with what little interest banks and credit unions are paying now, even for Money Market accounts, we think our money will be better invested in helping get them a place to live. At least if they are in our subdivision, they won't have to worry about child care. Nana and Papa can handle tha
  21. Yeah. Temporarily there goes the room where we were going to put the Christmas tree.
  22. About a month ago I was so unhappy. They were planning on moving to Florida but to Bonifay, which is a good hour away. So glad they changed their minds about that. Hubby is going to be beside himself. He doesn't know yet!!! He will find out this evening. He's been saying the whole time "I'd love to bring the girls here to the park" or he would talk about taking our son in law fishing. He didn't see them that much when we lived up there but he misses them. Maybe as much as I do. And I saw them every week! With this contract, the only thing that would cause it to fall through would
  23. Thanks!!! I'm a little happy.
  24. I've had this bottled up inside me for about two weeks now and I've been just about to bust. The time for the official announcement has come. As most of you know, my husband and I moved from Powder Springs to Milton, FL which is near Pensacola in April, after taking 3 years to find a suitable house. About six weeks after we moved, our daughter put her house on the market. They close on it on THURSDAY!! And they are moving to Milton, too!! I am so excited that I'll get to see my daughter and my granddaughters on a regular basis again. I've only seen them once since April and that was
  25. It was probably 1976 when my husband worked at the store in Austell. He didn't work long because he found out pretty quickly that he wasn't happy being a restaurant manager. Good to hear she still has the two stores. I know the person I'm thinking of moved to Alabama probably 10 years ago or so. Their daughter and my husband's sister have been best friends almost their entire lives, so we have heard "about" the family just haven't heard directly "from" the family.
