  1. Can't wait to hear more about your trip. Great pic of you and Debbie!
  2. I will be celebrating something. I've been missing all of my CASA buddies, too.
  3. No to the A/C. Yes to opening doors. We generally don't turn on the AC until it is upper 80s with high humidity or lower 90s with low humidity.
  4. I remember quite well when this happened. So sad. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. The article in the newspaper mentioned that one of his daughters is an Austell police officer. She gets an extra thought and prayer from me since she is employed with a PD that protects and serves friends and family of mine in Austell.
  5. Same here. I know the name but can't place it. The family has been on my thoughts a lot lately. Prayers said for all--family, friends, neighbors alike. Having lost two family members to auto accidents, I know firsthand the type of pain that goes with this.
  6. He must have been principal right before Mr. Williams. All my girls had Mr. Williams as their principal. They were classes of '88, '91 and '99.
  7. obviously doesn't know the area real well or else he would know that is a dead end street. Or else he lives down that street.
  8. No, it is not impossible. Good chance of survival if at least 26 weeks gestation. If due date was around first of November/last of October, it could be 26 weeks. Cobb Hospital has some wonderful neonatalogists on staff and a wonderful nursing staff in NICU. Prayers sent to grandparents, too. BTDT.
  9. Prayers sent. Great people at the Cobb NICU and Cobb Hospital Women's Center.
  10. To Tom's family, especially David and Pennie: We are thinking about you during this time. You will be in our prayers. I'm sure the crew at Bailey's will miss him as well.
  11. We saw this on our way home from Douglasville. A white SUV apparently missed the curve and slammed into a telephone pole. Apparently we were there just a few minutes after it happened because an ambulance was there and it appeared that rescue was working on someone in the vehicle. There didn't seem to be panic, so I'm guessing it was not life-threatening injuries. Powder Springs also responded and assisted with traffic control. I thought I saw a Paulding SO car there.
  12. Nick, You and your family have our heartfelt sympathy at this time.
  13. Yes, her mother is still alive. She's getting along in years now--upper 90s--but she's still with us. Ms. Liz and Mr. Ray are my neighbors, BTW.
  14. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ray at this time. Ms Liz will be missed by many.
  15. This family is in my prayers, too. I lost my mom three years ago tomorrow (the 16th).
  16. Thanks for letting us know that. I go that way to work. I guess I'll need to avoid it today.
  17. I saw a nasty accident in that very spot about 15 months ago. Also a head on. We used to own a business in the building where Pit Stop is (in fact, we were in the space next door). That's a dangerous, tricky curve. I drive that road twice a day. Prayers for all the families involved.
  18. No kidding! Close to 3 1/2 miles by road; probably 2 1/2 or so through the woods.
  19. Purely coincidence about the gas meter being damaged? I mean, absolutely could be coincidence but still, with a fire that big and a damaged gas meter, the outcome could have been horrible. And that isn't real close to Hiram High, either.
  20. Am I the only one who feels that this area just barely missed something horrific happening? WTH were those kids thinking???
