Update us as you can, please. BTW, which station do you work out of?
-
I was just about to post this one. I hate when people use an apostrophe in the wrong place. I've seen signs that have said "dog's for sell". That one sets my teeth on edge. I spent 17 years in a job that required me to have impeccable spelling and grammar. I just can't get it out of my system.

I hate that intersection. It's the most convenient way for me to go from my house to my daughter's house. Prayers for everyone, including witnesses.
-
Nothing is showing up on Ga Navigator, so apparently the road is open.
-
I really would like to find out how the accident happened. A couple of years ago, the county created a turn lane on Humphries Hill but failed to put in turn lights. Prayers for everyone.

which station?
-
Definitely not what she called about, as she can see that intersection from her living room. She said it had been busy down there today. Another overturned truck coming out of the railyard? She said even the taxi company was busy today with a number of dispatches saying people needed to go the ER.

Daughter just called and wondered what was going on in Austell. Helicopters, tons of emergency vehicles including supervisor for ambulance service. I've tried listening to the scanner but can't make out half of what they're saying. She said this appears to be east of Thornton Road, south of Humphries Hill.

Interesting. Lee was not the lone vote FOR it. Here is the vote: Chairman Lee voted yes. Commissioner Thompson voted yes. Commissioner Birrell voted no. Commissioner Goreham voted yes. Commissioner Ott voted no. I don't enjoy paying more in property taxes but then again, if my house catches on fire, I want firefighters to be on duty to put it out. If I get broken into, I want cops on duty to catch them. But you know something? Even with the millage rate increase, my property taxes are $333 and change LOWER than they were last year. My rental is $20 and change HIGHER than last

I have several issues with using Mountain Dew to treat ADHD or any other condition. #1--caffeine CAN change how drugs effect someone. If you're trying to find just the right dosage of a medication, to add caffeine could have a negative effect. #2--sugar is generally thought to cause problems in humans--weight gain, tooth decay, hyperactivity. Mountain Dew has lots of sugar. And the less health version called high fructose corn syrup. Google that and you'll see the dangers of it. #3--Mountain Dew has food coloring, which long has been thought to exacerbate hyperactivity in chi

so it wasn't just me who went "I don't think so"? Thank goodness, because I was beginning to think I was nuts. When my sister in law was first taken to a mental hospital, I believe she was 13. I thought THAT was young. I suspect that a lot of us know the situation and have dealt with similar issues ourselves. I know WAY more about mental health that I care to. So, will his 72 hours be up tomorrow?

You should talk to the doctor. You have also gotten some very good advice on here, a lot of it from people who have dealt with ADHD and/or mental illness in their own children.
-
Oh absolutely, a terrible idea. Caffeinated, high sugar soda is the last thing a kid with ADHD needs! My daughter would have been wound up for days after drinking ONE.
-
And so did Obama.

wealth = assets - liabilities.

I agree. Schools have been dealing with ADHD/ADD kids for decades and pretty much know what they are talking about. It's so much better for kids now than when my middle one was in school. We all knew she was--teachers, me, her dad, her biological mom, her grandparents, literally everyone--but there really wasn't much we could do. This was late 1970s and early 1980s. I guess in some ways she is lucky she is ADD, because right now she's 38, works full time, attends school part-time, has three very active kids and she and her husband have a couple of businesses. Very lucky NOW that she

I thought there might be more to the story, so to speak. I'm pretty familiar with mental health issues and what it takes to get inpatient treatment. Glad to hear he's doing well and ready to come home.

Me, too. I loved sleeping on my Beautyrest. Until I got married, I had only slept on Simmons mattresses, since my dad worked at Simmons.

How so? The school has no authority to put him in a psychiatric facility. That is a medical decision, not a school decision. I take it from your previous posts that he was transferred from Cobb Hospital to the current facility. The school system had nothing to do with that. Now, if there is something you're not sharing, that's different. I hope the little guy comes through all of this well.

:good: :good: :good: Can I get an AMEN?

word of advice: if you do buy the Tempur-Pedic, spend the extra to have it delivered especially if it will be going in a second story bedroom. That sucker is HEAVY!
-
If you are warm-natured, forget the Tempur Pedic. I burn up winter and summer on it. In the winter, we only use a sheet and a lightweight comforter except on the really, really cold nights when we add a lightweight quilt. In the summer, a sheet is it and sometimes it isn't even on us. I like the Tempur-Pedic but in all honesty, I'm not sure it's the best thing for my knee and hubby's back. My knee ends up being kind of twisted funny when I am on that side and I have a lot more knee pain. If I'm on my other side, and support the knee, I'm fine. I've slept on regular beds in hotels and
