Were they doing collections for a furniture store? I kept getting calls for my son in law. The company had his contact information. They just preferred to call me for some reason. I blocked their numbers. They finally got wise to that and had someone from another store call. That's when the feces hit the Westinghouse. LOVE IT!!!

I have found that once you actually TELL the caller that you're on the list, you don't get any more calls from them. Well, except for that one company that neither got the message that we were on the do-not-call list NOR got the message that we closed our business in 2010. I have to say, they haven't called in a good while so maybe they did FINALLY get the message.

Push whatever button they say to talk to a representative and then tell them in no uncertain terms that you are on the do-not-call list and that any further calls will result in a complaint being filed with the FTC. Or hang up. Don't push the button to be added to their no call list. That is like responding to spam. Best idea is to get a phone package that includes caller ID and don't answer calls from callers you don't know. PERIOD.

You're right about the low income credit. I forgot that it's no longer refundable.

Not the earned income credit. You have to have EARNED income to get that one.

You could. However, there would be no point as you would get only a minimal amount back in low income credits. You might get back $50 or so from the state and that would probably be it. Child support would have no bearing whatsoever on whether or not you could file or what you would receive in refunds. The operative word in "refund" is just that--refund. You generally have to have had SOMETHING withheld to get it back. Naturally Earned Income Credit would be the exception to that. But that is not technically a refund.

I've never been a believer in astrology and horoscopes but there was no doubt that one night it was 100% dead -on. It said I should avoid dangerous places. One of those dangerous places was the skating rink. I fell and someone skated over my HAND! I'm betting it was Stradial.

SCAM!!! I've gotten them on my non-Bellsouth e-mail addresses and they were "from" Bellsouth.

I think Pubby would be the first to tell you that unless you report a post, neither he nor the mods likely don't know there is a problem. I said something to him about a post I felt sure he had seen but he said he didn't and asked if I reported it. I told him I didn't. He said "then we probably didn't know there was a problem".

From my experience, I am waaaaaaaaaaay more afraid of the people out there who are popping legal prescriptions and then getting on the road to drive. If people want to have two beers at the skating rink, that's fine with me. If they want to get out on the highway after taking a Percocet or a Vicodin and they are too wasted to walk, then I do have a problem with that. It seems every other person in Paulding is in pain management, which means they are legal drug addicts. But they drive!

Not forgetting. Ignoring. It's only a drug if OTHERS use it to excess. If we use it ourselves, it isn't.

To the OP, would you have known that they served alcohol if you had not visited the concession stand? In other words, were there people there who were obviously drunk?
