I don't think the non-venomous snakes will usually strike at a person. I am pretty sure that I had accidentally ran over his tail. I can't be 100% what kind of snake it was because I never found it. But they are not typically aggressive. But! You don't want to be bit by any wild animal or reptile. Their bites are extremely nasty.

I have seen maybe five non-poisonous snakes in my yard over the last 20+ years. This year I have seen three, one of which struck at me while I was on the lawn mower.

There is a good restaurant on the west side of the courthouse. Can't remember the name of the family that it is named for but it is good food. It is not Chinese.

I have heard that a wildlife officer wrote a guy a ticket for killing a snake on public land. If a rattlesnake or copperhead is crawling across my property it will be shot on sight. I keep a 38 loaded with rat shot just for this.

10 pounds makes a huge difference in BP and BP meds. Don't be timid about being in your doc's office every week if necessary. It changes that fast.

Amlodipine is terrible. I had to take an Allegra 24 hour every day when I was taking the stuff. I would make me itch like crazy. It is also fairly potent. Doc reduced my dosage three different times and I was cutting them in half. I lost 25 pounds and my BP dropped so that when I stood, I nearly passed out a few times. I spend a lot of time in a bass boat. Not a good place to be passing out.

If it were me I would try a little coffee to see if it helped. But that's just me and I am not a union doctor nor do I play one on tv.

Caffeine withdrawals will cause a headache and blood pressure medication will cause you to be extremely lethargic the first few weeks until your body adjust to running on a lower BP. And I am sure that some BP meds can cause the headache as well. Does ibuprofen not stop the headaches?

Blue Ridge is my home town, but to be honest, I had to look at this website to see what there was to do. My link The Swann Drive In might be cool. Used to go there when I was a kid. Mercier's Orchard was just down the road from where I lived. We "picked" a few apples from Bill's orchard. I couldn't tell you anything about any of the restaurants listed. What we enjoy doing is riding through the mountains on the forestry service roads. If you order the maps now you will have them in time. There is some gorgeous scenery that time of year.
