  1. If you are that concerned, then do something. Ask them if they need help. Or if they are doing something illegal, call the police. Posting about their constant whearabouts, wondering if they are fugitives, accusing them of animal cruelty and child abuse is not helping them. But I'm sure you are genuinely concerned
  2. It always amazes me how nosy people can be.
  3. voted again too. Gotta step it up though, looks like they are 5th right now.
  4. It's been sounding the same over in West Cobb for hours now. And what REALLY irks me is that everytime I go out to catch a glimpse of it...I see nothing! So I keep running to my window like some weird reverse Peeping Tom stalker for nada. I just want to see a little pretty Alabama stuff before I hit the rack, dam*it!
  5. I totally understand throwing cards away because I do the same with almost everything I receive in the mail. I don't do clutter and momentos. BUT it never goes unnoticed that someone bothered to stamp and address an envelope to me.
  6. I must befriend you guys so I can send you a gift just so I can get a handwritten card. I LOVE LOVE LOVE handwritten anything, especially Thank You's! Gotta admit, I was pleased to learn that my 11 year old nephew recently sent out handwriiten cards for all the get well gifts he has received since battling cancer. He has restored my faith in A LOT this year.
  7. I'm sad that the art of handwritten "Thank You" cards is all but dead. Now I'm lost as to what is an acceptable "Thank You" in the world of Facebook, texting, and email. I recently received a "Thank You" for a rather substantial gift in a text from a close relative. I found this unacceptable. A phone call would have seemed appropriate to me. So what is acceptable nowadays? Is it anything goes as long as you get acknowledgment? How do you say "thank you" for a gift received?
  8. Going to bed early. Right now my husband and I are in different years because he's halfway around the world. Celebrating the New Year with no one to kiss at midnight sucks. So I'm going to take a Benadryl and hopefully fall asleep before the festivities. Any other year, I'd be out partying and would wake up cursing the night before.
  9. I love watching the people at the WalMart roundabout drive up on the cement part. Don't they realize it's 6 inches higher than the road? Ahhhh, good times. A webcam at Burnt Hickory and County Line would be fun!
  10. I DO NOT miss the rotaries in New England. I was soooooooo happy when I moved down here from MA because there were no friggin' rotaries. and now there's one a mile from my house BUT at least it's not the high speed, multiple lane ones that were so popular up there and scared the snot out of me daily. I recently saw a semi go through the one at County Line and was impressed at his driving skills. Much better than most people who go around it. I hate to admit it, but I kind of like it. It was such a weird intersection before and was almost hit a few times by people who didn't stop.
  11. You aren't kidding! With my husband working overseas, the holidays are a tough time. So we both look forward to getting past January 1st. Seems like it's been months that I've been looking forward to January! I just wish everyone would hurry up and take their decorations down so I can put 2011 out of my mind and look forward to 2012 and all the new adventures it holds.
  12. FYI: You can vote once a day. So you are allowed to vote each day until voting ends!
  13. I'm getting a good chuckle out of watching people navigate the new roundabout/rotary at Burnt Hickory and County Line. I can walk to the intersection on the new sidewalks and watch the confusion on driver's faces as they come up on it. Hilarious!
  14. The Salvation Army or United Way might not have an office in Paulding, but I would hope they don't discriminate based on zip code. It doesn't even make sense that every charity could have an office/shelter in every county in GA.
  15. Google works both ways. Sometimes the ABC cards are a scam, and sometimes not. I don't care either way. I'll continue to give my dollar for the card/keychain.
  16. I'm curious how you found out about both of these gentlemen? Did you read it in a newspaper somewhere?
  17. I always give to them. I don't care if it's a scam or not. At least they are offering something in return and not just asking for money. What if it isn't a scam? My dollar will help him more than me. It reminded of the story of the deaf immigrants being used as slaves... http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/archive/?date=19970721&slug=2550663 Human beings can be so disgusting and heartless. I haven't seen this particular gentleman in years but only because I don't go to that store anymore.
  18. Enjoy life more and stop worrying what others think.
  19. Get an upright with a door alarm on it.
  20. How is it beating the ticket if you were found guilty?
  21. The base fine is determined by the court, not the GSP, local police, etc. On top of the base fine are state mandated fees for such things as the Indigent fund and Joshua's Law, along with a whole host of others.
  22. 20 over is super speeder on a two lane, which will cost you an automatic extra $200. I recently got pulled over in Clay County doing 20 over. The trooper dropped it one mph so I didn't qualify for the SS law. I then called the court, the judge answered the phone BTW (small county), and she lowered it to 14 so it wouldn' go on my record. She was nice enough to do it over the phone so I didn't have to drive back down there. It never hurts to just call and ask. That's all I did. One phone call and $103 later...
  23. I always do that anyway but was hoping for a tried and true, healthier, recipe. Uhhhh, LPPT, that recipe... I should have known that I need to look in other places for recipes that don't involve canned and processed foods.
  24. These all sound great! But I'm wondering if there are any dip recipes out there that don't involve Velveeta, cream cheese, or mayo. I know, I'm probably asking too much, it is the holidays afterall. I did take note of GG's and TC's recipes which look to fit my needs. Anyone else?
