What was the cup size???

Ah, hah!!! I see how I missed your thread now, since it based on the meal and not the "What's Fer Dinner" title. Again, I apologize for stealing your thunder....and, yes!!! I love Brunswick Stew!!

Oh yeah!!! I love that stuff! Story of my life! I've actually put on a whopping 4 lb.s since my aunt moved in. At least I have someone to remind me to eat now. I get so caught up in working all day that the only hint I get is that low blood sugar thing when you start feeling light headed. I keep boxes of cheese-peanut-butter crackers in stock in the shop, just for that very reason.

I'm sorry...I looked around first but I guess I missed it. Oopsy!!

My aunt (who is rooming with me now) decided she'd had enough baloney, so here's what she whipped up for tonight! Steak, baked tater, and garlic toast!!

As long as the taxes were within reason, we could pay off the national debt in no time!!

If you're still stoned on Monday after smoking on Friday, then that's some mighty powerful weed that I've never heard of!! I just have to ask this question....some of the comments I have read makes me wonder if the ones making them have EVER smoked pot....???? I can assure you you will NOT be even remotely stoned 2-3 days after smoking a joint, no matter how potent it is. In regards to a comment I made earlier on about invasion of privacy, I should have noted that SOME jobs do need to require regular testing, such as heavy machinery, a bus driver, airline pilot, or other job where th

Yep, me too. And it seems to be a pandemic lately, and getting worse by the day. Sadly, I have been to a couple of funerals because of Oxycontin overdoses. The really sad part is that these were older people who were really sick and needed the medication to have somewhat of a life. The problem occurred when they required more and more to relieve the pain, unaware that eventually their respiratory and cardiac systems just stopped in their tracks. They were both cancer patients; however, in one of the cases they went through the elderly man's house after his death and found SEVERAL bottles of th

Glad you mentioned that. I was outside in the driveway putting wiper blades on my car, and I thought I was losing my mind when the sleet started falling. This doesn't mean that I'm still not slowly losing my mind, but it did help that you clarified that it was, in fact, sleeting.

Something WAS learned from prohibition, actually....how the government can make BIG BUCKS by selecting which drug to legalize and tax the poop out of it. Why they stopped short on pot is beyond me. Ever seen the old movie, "Reefer Madness"? Talk about propaganda that would make Hitler envious!!

That's somewhat ambiguous. Is it okay to shoot pot dealers, and turn a blind eye to liquor store salesmen, especially when liquor causes much more damage to families and society, in general? The fact that one is legal and the other is not, still doesn't change the big picture of what's right and what's wrong. You can't die from OD'ing on pot, but you damned sure can die from alcohol poisoning, and many people do all the time...yet THAT is legal. How screwed up is that? And that's not counting the domestic abuse, and highway deaths brought on from drinking liquor. Bingo!!!! It's all ab

Hence the folly in all of this.

Didn't someone say something about layoffs after the election?

You are partly correct. Most companies are certainly restructuring, but in their efforts to make a better profit they are sacrificing quality like I have never seen before. They are also restructuring their guarantees that are leaving people screwed when products break down. In fact, guarantees are becoming a buzz word and an outright joke. I hear the horror stories almost every day from my customers. These companies have a loophole for almost everything to leave the consumer hanging out to dry. It's BAD business, and it's killing the economy even worse by ripping off consumers who are spendi -
Please email me at glennsmowerrepair@comcast.net if you need to reach me until I can get another phone. The old one bit the dust. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you email me, I will send you an alternate number you can reach me at until I get this straightened out. This is a friend's phone so I am only giving the number to family and customers. Glenn

Dayum!!! Just realized I ran out of rolling papers!!!! I'm kidding!!!...of course. The last time I smoked some weed, I forgot who I was and peed my pants. My old feeble brain just can't take that stuff.

This is true, and what a LOT of people do not know is that if you are NOT a regular smoker, you will pass a urine test in only 3 days. It's the regular, daily smokers who's fat cells have accumulated so much that most tests will show positive for up to 2 weeks. While there are tests that show up to 30 days, those tests are very expensive and few companies and probation offices use them. So, the occasional pot smoker has little to worry about if they have 3 days before being tested. The bullcheeze in all of this is that a meth or crack head can pass after only 48-72 hours. The harder drugs

Well, here I go again! Someone brought me a Craftsman push mower to repair. I noticed it had a primer bulb, AND an automatic choke. So, what this means it someone put the wrong air filter box on the mower. A primer bulb won't do squat with a choke-type carburetor- there's no priming hole on those carbs. I asked the guy if anyone had fooled with the mower, and he said no..it was bought new and never touched. Of course, this won't affect the mower's performance, but it's still WRONG. My goodness!!! My guess is someone sold him a reconditioned one as a new one, because there was also a cross thr

You can ask almost any law enforcement officer and they will tell you that ALCOHOL causes 100 times more problems than pot ever did or ever will. Drinking makes some people crazy....really crazy!!! Pot makes you a sloth, and basically confines you to a couch with a TV and munchies. No comparison, in fact, it should be just the other way around. Should pot be legal?? Hell yes, and TAXED!!! But, how about other things, like meth, cocaine, LSD, etc.??? I would say absolutely NOT. In fact, if pot was legal most abusers of harder drugs would quit very shortly and just smoke pot. I have known to

A friend brings me a really nice, and relatively new riding mower over for a small repair and tune-up. The pulley on one side had stripped out so I had to replace it. When I bolt on the new pulley, I notice the pulley is still not really tight like it should be. So I look up the diagram for this mower and low and behold, a custom sized flat washer was missing, as well as a lock washer for the other side!! As far as I know this mower has not been serviced before, so this is the kind of inept construction that's happening on brand new mowers!!! Unbelievable!! Luckily, no major damage was done be

When I got over there, she was walking around, doing dishes and the same old, same old. Talk about a miracle! I was so sleepy when I got there from playing in Marietta last night and getting up early today that she and I just took a nap together while I was there. She is really doing amazing. Of course, she sometimes seems a little confused, but that's mostly her trying to figure out what the heck happened over the course of the month or more. By confused, I don't mean she doesn't know everyone. She knows everyone just fine and was cutting up. It's just those small moments when you can tell sh

Thank you. I've been telling her about all you guys, but I'll tell her again.

She just called me this morning, and I almost fell out of my chair! She is back at her home, and they are having a physical therapist coming to her house to help her with rehabilitation. As soon as I get paid for a mower repair, I'm heading down there to see her. Yayyyy!!!
