I live in New Hope very near Publix. I stepped out onto our back deck and front porch steps for a few seconds. The stuff looks like it is a dusting of snow but after running my hand through it I realized it is starting to freeze together into a solid sheet! Ok, I had to leave today just after 4:30, so I did actually check for our ants in their usual places and they were NOT out. However, the ground is so frozen that even the grass was "crunchy" as in frozen! So I am thinking that even if the temps are just above freezing when the precipitation starts tomorrow afternoon, the stuff will still stick because everything else is so cold. Ours are red but bite like fire ants. We use Cook's pest control to keep them under control and out of the house etc. We have had the same technician with them for over 2 years and she says they are fire ants, so I assume they are. I will look outside tomorrow and see if they are doing anything.
