  1. That's progress(ive) for ya. Never forget that progressives are the smartest people on the planet. They have degrees and read only the materila published by their well educated brethren. It matters not that many of them have only held government or community related jobs and have zero experience in running a business in the private sector.
  2. Yes, very. For my in-laws, we paid cash from their turst fund. For myself, when and if the time comes, we purchased Long Term Care Insurance.
  3. We used Comfort Keepers from my in-laws; they were very good even when we asked that several of their caregivers be replaced. They do serve the Dallas/Hiram area: Hiram 5604 Wendy Bagwell Pkwy., Ste 811 Hiram, GA 30141 (770) 419-1355 http://hiram-787.comfortkeepers.com/
  4. We vote for our ideals, our beliefs and the candidate we believe will execute his or her job based upon our beliefs and ideals. It is sometimes difficult to choose the "right" candidate.
  5. Never tried either, Tess. We used MidSouth Security in Marietta for all the years we owned our Powder Springs home and were very pleased with the price and the service: http://www.midsouthsecurity.com
  6. I never, never, ever accept anything but cash or a funds transfer. The car does not leave my driveway until I have the funds in my account. I also call the buyer's bank and ask them to fax or e-mail me a copy of the wire transfer documentation. I have not had a problem yet in doing this.
  7. Thanks everyone. And, DR, I think your kitchen is going to be spectacular.
  8. Dana, thanks!! I've been since December by myself taking care of getting furniture and making sure all the little details were fixed and taken care of. My wife arrives May 1st. She booked the month of May for vacation and effective June 1st, she is fully retired. She is very excited as she has been living in a rental that she really does not like since last August.
  9. Can you not simply ask where you stand? Never mind, I see you earned a c ontract renewal. Good for you!
  10. You're thinking of Chastity (Chas) Bono. (S)he and Chelsea do look alike.

  12. I graduated before you! Mine's better!
  13. Well said. It's a case of government finding ways to waste our money.
  14. I also think it lets "dumbed down" teachers into our classrooms.
  15. The way this teacher is "teaching" math is pure laziness. In the case of your algebra teacher, she didn't understand algebra. Period.
  16. I based our design on this model home: My wife thinks ours is nicer. DR, I sent you a PM. Let's see if you can see this: These above were taken before I hung the three pendants over the island and before our new furniture arrived. Below is after adding lighting and furniture:
  17. We just moved into a new house that we had built from scratch. We have dark espresso hardwood flooring with white cabinets and black granite countertops (granite is called "Uba Tuba"). The living area around the kitchen is all white featuring wainscoating and tongue in groove wood ceilings with beams. All white except the floor and the counters. We love it. I can point you to my facebook page for pix if you want.
  18. Congratulations. I am glad the move helped you economically. Not sure how a governor could have helped. But, whatever.
  19. I don't understand how your husband's salary is related in any way to who is governor.
  20. Yup, as brilliant as "new math" which was an abysmal failure.
  21. Good for you. Kids these days can barely read, let alone write. And, don't get me started on spelling.
