  1. im so sorry to hear that sugail. its true when someone passes and leaves you something, no matter how desperately you may need it, you would rather have more time with that person. i do hope things turn around for you soon. and i'll say a little prayer and send you some good thoughts. there are so many good, caring folks on pcom, its hard to hear of you guys falling on hard times or going through rough patches.
  2. yeah, doesnt help, just pisses me off when i have to move my 100lb desk to get to all my cords behind it.
  3. my internet sucks. ever since i switched to at&t my internet loses connection all the time. it seems like every 20 minutes i lose my connection and it has to reconnect. my internet light will go off, the dsl light will start blinking, turn red, then go back green then the internet light will blink for a bit then i will be connected again. it almost seems like its on a timer or something, it happens on the 2's. like the last time was 7:22 or last night i think it was 9:42. i havent called at&t because the one time i did they had me reset the modem and reinstall and that didnt help anyth
  4. i wish i could have gone, but things are extra tight this week, and its a long drive for me! i know she worked REALLY hard on this event, so im glad it seems to be having a good turnout! let us know if you win something! the prizes looked really good, there wasnt much room left in her car after loading them and the coolers lol. glad you got the famous bewbie hug too!
  5. my thoughts exactly, no need for duct tape on a dead body. and she was afraid to tell her parents? i would imagine (not having kids myself) that if your child drowned accidentally and died you would be overcome with grief, not fear of your parents.
  6. i actually thought about that this morning, people are always swapping recipes, wonder how difficult it would be to get one printed.... meditate on this i will.
  7. maybe pubby should have a recipe forum, that would be great!
  8. yeah, i refrigerated 6 hrs, and i was up late making them, if you start now, you could just bake before bed, and cookies would be a nice after school snack for tomorrow! and a tip, since you have to use an ungreased cookie sheet, i dropped my cookies onto flour and laid them flour side down on the cookie sheet, my first 2 pans stuck, but not too bad. its a LOT of cookie dough so i made my cookies bigger around and i still have a lot of cookies lol. you can have some of mine lol. but im probably further than your nearest grocery store.
  9. i dont like the icing either, i always scrape it off, i only made half the icing recipe and left some cookies plain, they really turned out close, the only difference is mine are fluffier than the store bought, i also had to substitute the baking soda, and i was half a cup short on the sour cream, still turned out awesome! hubby was very happy to have a cookie for breakfast at 3am, and he wasnt grumbling about going to work lol.
  10. those really good cake like sugar cookies with the icing on top apparently are called lofthouse cookies. i never knew that lol. but after months of trying to find the recipe i finally found it. the hubbin loves loves loves these cookies! he has been begging me to try to find the recipe and make them for him so he will be a very happy man when he wakes up and finds a huge batch of them! so if anyone else has a hankerin' for these here is the recipe! cookies: 1 cup butter 2 cups sugar 3 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 1/2 cup sour c
  11. i dont tip at sonic, and it really pisses me off when they tip themselves out of my change, it might only be some change, but at this point, you stole it. if i wanted you to have it i would have given it to you.
  12. could you not weigh at home with the right scale? i found this one with a quick google search My link if you cant wait for shipping, maybe a local doctors office would be willing to weigh your husband daily until your scale arrives? they may want to charge a fee, but i cant imagine they would charge much just for a weigh in. hope this helps.
  13. most people think that they are right. they truly and honestly 'know' that they are right, otherwise, why would we believe it? i personally feel that all of my opinions and beliefs are correct. it takes a lot of overwhelming facts and insight to change someones point of view. or to open their eyes to the fact that they were wrong. i deal with this everyday in my job. most of the time i am right, but sometimes i am proven wrong and when that happens my experience grows and i build on my knowledge so that i wont be wrong about it again. the hardest part is simply saying i was wrong and you were
  14. i thought it was a joke when i started reading it, but i guess not. im still not sure where the sudden obsession with zombies has come from, im so behind.
  15. i like bats, and have been thinking about putting up a bat house, i just have to find the perfect place.
  16. i like the cooler weather, and i had a headache all day yesterday and then again today, i figured it was because i waited too long between my meals yesterday, but i finally had to take something. i have been pruning and collecting old blooms from my flowers to harvest the seeds and this weather is perfect for that. im planning to go back out and start weeding the garden soon. and i have a ton of african daisy seeds if you want some when you come over.
  17. i only drink socially, and i have gone 6 months without a drink, i dont 'need' to drink to have a good time, i know my limits, and to be honest with you, i havent been "drunk" in years. when i do drink, i am responsible, i dont drive, i stay where i am or my sober husband drives. and i have seen alcoholism, i have seen what it does to a person and a family. does it deter me from drinking? no, because i dont abuse it or use it to escape my problems. the 'i have seen alcoholics and their problems' argument is like saying i have witnessed a car wreck and cars should be illegal. there is always ri
  18. the shoulder blade doesnt hurt, its similar to an eyebrow wax type feeling, however, if you are afraid of the pain, make sure you choose something that you wouldnt mind hurting for. i would never endure pain for something that wasnt 100% worth my suffering.
  19. andretti speedway, lots of fun, not sure about kids though My link
  20. going to work, then coming home, i havent planned anything else except the load of laundry i just started, now my chores are done lol.
  21. wow, this thread got down right nasty. there is no reason to get nasty and call people names and insult each other. you will never come to a solution or compromise by being ugly to each other. solo stated that she has been affected by the consequences of drinking and driving. she is obviously extremely passionate about this subject, and she is well within her rights to be 100% against drinking and driving. she also stated that she attended this particular event once and had a very negative experience. its hard to say whether this was a normal night or maybe things did get a little out of hand,
  22. it depends on how im being thanked, if the person saying thank you is extremely or overly thankful (insinuating i went out of my way) that i did something for them i will say no problem to assure them that it was not a problem to help them. usually its a mix between the two replies, depending on the people i meet that day.
  23. like wineguy said get it inspected, but only by someone you trust dont just pull into the first shop you come to, if you dont have a preferred mechanic or shop, then get recommendations from friends or pcom if necessary. also when you find one you might be interested in do some research, find out what problems the car is prone to, some vehicles are more likely to have electrical problems, some have transmission problems, you need to consider that you may have to pay for a repair that is common on that particular vehicle, for example, a lot of kias go through axles like crazy, early 2000's mode
