My point exactly. It's hard to get mine to sleep until the time change but I can totally tell a difference in their behavior when they get home from school. My 6 year old is so whiney that I would NEVER torcher his teacher and let him stay up later. I let them stay up "late" and go to bed at 10:00 on the week ends.

Mine are 9 & 6 and go to bed at 8:00. By the way, parents of teens, you do realize that teens need MORE sleep than other children. Going to bed at 10:30 and getting up at 6:30 is only 8 hours. They should be sleeping around 10-11 hours.

In Cold Blood was my favorite book in high school. It's still on my top 5 list!!!

We went to Rack Room and got our kids shoes. They had a sale (not so great) but they are all by one get one 1/2 off so we got 2 pair of shoes for $70.

Ugh, I was really trying to avoid that because she out-grows them so fast. I guess I'll do what I have to do!

My daughter will be 9 next week and is growing like a weed! She wears a 9 1/2 in women's and we have no trouble finding sneakers or tennis shoes but we cannot find sandals. Her foot is long and skinny. Anyone have any ideas where I could find sandals to fit her? We have looked at Payless, Target, Rack Room, and Wal Mart but all of the shoes that fit the length of her foot fall right off of her.

We did this today. I put out three trash bags and a toy box, one bag for trash, one for daycare donation, and one to take to Nanny's house to play with. I told him that once his toy box was full that he had to put stuff somewhere else. He was okay with this until we got to his WWE wrestling belts and his toy box was full. I told him that he could take out enough toys to make room for the belts and keep them. So, being the smart kid that he is, he gave one belt to his sister for her toy box and then took a toy out of his toy box and put it in the daycare bag to make room for the other belt. I

I use Moroccan Oil Curl Cream!!! By far the best stuff I have ever used. Moroccan Oil actually makes a product to put in your hair when you straighten it too. The curl cream doesn't give you that crunchy look and still feels like nothing is in it. You will have to get it at a salon.

Anything near Piedmont Park for kids to do?
desi replied to SnapCandy Fotos's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I know that it doesn't sound like much but my kids always had more fun playing with a kick ball or something to that effect in the grass between Coke and the aquarium. Sometimes it's the smaller things that entertain them. -
We had someone knock on our door around 8 am a couple of weeks ago. My kids were awake and yelled that there was somebody at the door. I jumped up and ran downstairs to see a Tru Green guy there. I yelled at him and told him that my subdivision says "no soliciting" and that it was too early! We live in New Hope as well. BTW my kids did not open the door for him!

Something I found out about my cell phone company

Actually you do get a "top 10" to use for any network for free. I don't think though that you can lower your minutes and still keep the top 10. -
I looked on the website but I really didn't find the info that I need. NH was a good park but I hate to pay extra if I don't have to. I really just want to know about competition for cheerleading.
-
I have two children, a boy that wants to play football and a girl that wants to cheer. We were at New Hope last year and we enjoyed it but one of the coaches we had is not coaching this year and some of the girls have gone on to competition cheering so we really do not have any attachments there. So I need opinions about East Paulding Raiders football and cheerleading. The way it looks is that I could spend $300 and sign up both of my kids at EP and NH would cost me $430(I think, I'm still not sure about a discount for multiple children). Oh, and does EP do competition? That's really

They were talking about this on the Today show this morning. The person on the Today show said that if your child is over the 85% ranking then they are over weight. My child is in the 95% and has been since she was one year old. She is 8 and is 4'9" and about 85-90lbs. I don't consider her over weight and nor should I. She is a big girl and I also don't want her to think that she has a weight problem. I think a lot of the problem is what our kids eat but I have also noticed that if we teach our children that everything is bad then they feel like they can't do good. This creates a negative

Good luck to both of you! Btw unless you are both geniuses you had better get used to the look of a B in nursing school, but at that point there is no more competition. I have only got 2 As out of 5 quarters and I had to really bust it for those!

How long ago did you have the baby? When you are pregnant you have an increased blood volume and when the baby is delivered it takes some time for the body to readjust. I would talk to your doctor for sure though!
-
A & P is really a different kind of science. It is really important for nursing school that you know HOW the body works so that you can understand disease processes. You will do fine!

I think at Chattahoochee the TEAS is the important factor and then if you and I have the same TEAS score but you have a higher GPA in the core classes, you get in not me. I believe the only classes included for your GPA are the ones you actually need for the program. You must have a B average in all of your science classes for them to consider you.
-
Chattahoochee said that they will not accept your TEAS score unless it is higher than the national average which is 74. This is also the case for your grades in nursing school. A 74.9 is a failing grade and anything above that is passing.
-
Don't stress! There really is no way to study for the TEAS exam except to buy the practice book. I struggled with a lot of the science stuff and science is my strong point. There was a lot of chemistry so know the periodic table and also go over Earth science because there was some of that too. You cannot use a calculator so review adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions (you know, stuff you would use a calculator for). I think I scored around a 90ish and got in to nursing school just fine. Where are you applying?

This is what I am having trouble with. I talked with another parent in the class about their childs behavior and their son had not been on green all month. She was specific today as to what he did which was great because he thought he got moved to yellow for something different so I was able to talk to him about it. I sent her suggestions to make him have a silent lunch if he is talking out of turn during class or make him run on the playground if he is jumping up and down in line. I feel that the punishment should fit the behavior that is wrong. I could see a different reaction from him just
-
She returned an e-mail stating that he is pretty much jumping up & down in line and talking out of turn during class. At least now I know somewhat the specifics as to what he is doing wrong. While I feel that this is still age appropriate I at least know where to start with him. Every teacher is different and their expectations are different. I do want him to follow the rules but I also want to make sure that it is something a child his age is capapable of doing. Hopefully we are on the right tract to solving this problem.

Well, I am sending in a letter explainging how I feel about the sentences. I also stated that I am willing to work with her and sit in class with him to correct his behavior as needed. I told her that I am not disputing the fact that he needs to have consequences to his behavior but I need to know specifically what he is doing in order to correct it. I thank all of you for your opinions and allowing me to vent. I did not want to show anger in the letter and I feel that by putting it here I have avoided that. I am not angry at the teacher and I want to work with her, not against her. Hopefully
