  1. Thanks to all of you for coming out as well!!!
  2. It is only a success because you all come year after year and make it such a great event, that all the businesses and county departments want to support it. Can't wait to see what kind of fun and new things we can come up with next year!!! :yahoo:
  3. Despite the threat of rain and storms, and the bad storm that came just minutes after noon, we got Touch a Truck Day in and most everyone came that was scheduled to be there!!! Of course the helicopters couldn't fly in this weather, but Radio DISNEY had a blast with games and giveaways for the kiddies and AWESOME vendors that gave away great things and braved the weather too! Also thanks to all our fellow citizens who came out to the event. THANK YOU! We have some of the greatest citizens in the county and WONDERFUL county employees too! Kudos to the police, fire, water, storm/sewer, DOT
  4. Come on out whatever the weather. Of course thunderstorms would be bad, but besides that, just bring your umbrella and come on over. Some vehicles already being delivered!

  6. The paved trail around the playground and pavilion is 1/4 mile and the longer nature trail in the woods is 3/4 mile. SORBA bike organization is in the process of completing @ 5 - 7 miles of dirt bike trails in and around that area and some people walk on them as well. As soon as those trails are completed there should be maps available at the park.
  7. Call Mt. Tabor tomorrow and ask to speak with Tena and she will be helpful to you! I don't think the class is full for the next session starting on April 13th. Thanks
  8. There is Zumba starting up at Mt. Tabor Park in the evenings this coming session. And there is also Morning Shape Up and Pilates and Yoga at both parks. Lots of great fitness programs offered through the parks. Boot Camp is awesome!!!
  9. How sad. I met them once in Louisville, Ky. We was a great bass player....
  10. Those would be your oblique muscles...the ones that allow you to twist side to side...they are part of the abdominal group.
  11. There appears to be a miscommunication and I know it will be corrected. The instructor is an awesome guy and knows his stuff and there has to be a reason for the mix up. I know it is being addressed as we speak and all the pariticpants should receive a call by the end of today. So sorry for the confusion....and he will make it up.
  12. You can also surprise them with a Valentine serenade that the Parks & Rec department offers. It is on Friday, 12th, cause they can only do it during business hours, but it AWESOME! We did a coworker last year, and it was SOOO funny. They have a male or female singer who will sing whatever you want and they get balloons, card and a bag of gifts for ONLY $15!!! Great gift and GREAT price too!
  13. Parks & Recreation Department has Valentine Serenades for your loved one, friend or family member!! They are only $15 and it includes a song, gift, card and TONS of fun and laughs! They have to do it on a business day between 9am - 4pm and it is on Friday, February 12th this year. Call 770-505-3884 for more details. What a GREAT idea and the price is RIGHT!!!!
  14. Taylor Farm Park has karate on Wednesday nights at 7pm, I believe the first session was tonight. Mt. Tabor Park has karate too and their first class is tomorrow night at 7pm. Call 770-505-3885 for details.
  15. Don't forget that the parks have lots of opportunities to work out...classes, walking on the trails or in the gym when it is cold or rainy outside. Your walking group sounds like a perfect fit with the 280 Club, a program to support and encourage participants to exercise 280 minutes a week, which research shows will improve fitness and weight loss in as little as 6 - 8 weeks. They will give you tips and suggestions and ways to achieve those goals and weekly prizes and incentives to do it!! And it's only $11!!! Call and check it out.
  16. CORRECTION: I just checked and the Paulding County website has been updated and is totally different, so this link no longer works. Also, the new version calls the guide 2009 summer fall, but when you click on it the new 2010 guide shows up. I will contact the rec department on Monday and let them know. This is the new link http://www.paulding.gov/DocumentView.aspx?DID=102
  17. Thanks Don for posting the link to the parks guide. There are so many great programs being offered there and sometimes it seems it is the best kept secret in town. I have enjoyed using the parks and their programs for over 10 years and they have some great programs for kids and adults! Not just about athletics. Many of their new programs begin on Monday, so check them out!! Happy New Year.
