Chelle, Goliath is the only ride that requires you to rent a locker for a dollar (which ticks me off on principal). If you want to avoid this, then simply do a "pass through" when it's your time to ride. I'll pass through, hang onto my backpack with a couple others from my group while a couple more ride. When they get back, we swap the backpack for our turn. As for lines, one of the main problems with SFOG, and has been for years, is the neighborhood around it. Many of the "parents" in that neighborhood buy season passes, then drop their kids off in the mornings and pick them up on

Message boards would be no fun whatsoever if we all just agreed with each other

I heard this a while back and it has stuck with me. Rich people and poor people have something in common. They both keep doing the things that put them in that position.

Jet, I agree with all your points here about where you are born. There is only about a 7% chance of being born in America. By your own calculations, however, would not most Americans be considered "lucky" per your criteria? It's the Americans who are the ones who refer to high earners as "lucky" with disdain. I don't think anyone on here is reading p.com from a 3rd world country (if they were, that would be pretty cool).

From what I understand, it's supposed to rival Disney's Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando. Hopefully this will attract some of the teams that don't want to make that long of a drive.

I enjoy the charts and graphs, even if I disagree with them.

I completely respect your opinion here PM. I just think that I have a little more faith in the intellect of Joe American. Just to be clear on my stance here. I want everyone to make a million bucks. Notice I said "make", not "have". I want to help the helpless, not the clueless.

Just curious here, as I work in one of these industries that you are describing as pillagers. Where does personal responsibility begin here? Are you not responsible at all for educating yourself on how to evaluate and discern marketing and advertising? I'm not talking about deceptive, false advertising. Don't people have some responsibility for being savvy consumers? I get marketing and advertising material, coupons, etc in the mail everyday. I don't go out and use every coupon immediately, because I know that's asinine. I really don't think I'm any smarter than Joe American here? P

Bored - Thanks for the good conversations (you too PM and PSD). As for your last sentence, this statistic here will really get your blood boiling: "According to the Tax Policy Center, the percentage of households who don't pay income taxes rises to 47 percent." When this number gets to 51%, it can never be corrected (who would ever vote for someone who is going to take away their freebies?) PM, I enjoy your posts and statistics. I wonder, however, what you would do with the 47% of American "taxpayers" who pay no taxes? Do we not all drive on the same roads, have our free

I think you summed up my rambling perfectly. If I worked hard and made a million dollars here in Paulding County, did I take a million dollars out of circulation that someone else could have made? Of course not. Quite the opposite. I would spend a lot of that money in Paulding County where many of my fellow residents work, pay taxes that employ the government workers, and invite many of you over to elaborate parties!

Not quite, but I am choosing to work really hard so that someday I might be. Sorry, I don't understand the first sentence here.

I hear you "bored", and I hope I didn't insinuate that anybody on here does now work hard. I am not "rich", but probably fall into the category of folks that Postman wants to target for greater contributions (correct me if I'm wrong here PM). My story is not exceptional. Came from a lower middle class family, made average grades, I have an average work ethic. During my 20's, I lived in crummy apartments and trailer parks while I worked my way up through my company. I chose to finish college. I chose to not impregnate a woman in my teens (OK, maybe she chose that , I chose to no

"There is only one percent of the people in this country who are truly rich. That one percent has over 1/3 of the country's wealth," This choice of wording typically inadvertently misleads folks into believing that the "pie" is static. In other words, these folks "took" money that could have gone to others. This is simply not correct. Our economy and GDP is fluid. The fact that these folks earned 1/3 of the country's wealth does not mean that 1/3 of the country's wealth is taken and off limits to them. The pie is as big as we make it, go get your piece!

Didn't know this, now I'm excited! Do you know which one? I hate driving all the way to Kennesaw for golf stuff. Sports Authority has a few things, but not much. -
I heard Dave Ramsey using this figure from time to time. It's from a book called "The Millionaire Next Door". I just double checked my source, it's actually 80%. Sorry about that.

A good business has waste and erros built into their budget. This is no different than if Wal-Mart forced an employee to pay for something that he or she dropped while stocking a shelf. There is risk and errors in all businesses. Good business anticipate and plan for it. A good server should never work for a restaurant that has this policy. The restaurant, however, has the right to have this policy. It's up to the server as to whether or not they choose to work there.

Not picking on you here, just something you said here comes up a lot and drives me nuts. Why do folks always consider high earners to be "lucky"? Over 85% of millionaires are 1st generation millionaires. Why do folks assume they are "lucky"? I typically assume that they worked really hard, studied really hard, made sacrifices or took chances that I was not willing to take, and earned every penny. As for the discussion. For political purposes, when politicians are referring to the "rich", they are typically referring to folks that make more than $83,600. This is where the tax brackets

Just looking for the silver lining here. I've noticed that my golf drive picks up about 10-15 yards when it's this hot!

I looked at this one, but it just seemed to have ton of add ons. After the dues, there is still a green fee and a cart fee, plus a food minimum. Do you think this is still the better deal? I have not ruled them out.
-
Do you know when this may be happening? I have never played there, but heard it was nice before they went under.

I was wondering where you get the most bang for your buck out of a golf club membership. I am contemplating Creekside, but wanted to see if anyone on here had any opinions. I'm in New Hope, so location is important as I like to play after work.

I lived in Nashville and went to many Preds games. Trust me, the atmosphere there is 10X better. I went to many Tuesday night games against the Blue Jackets. Not sellout crowds, but loud and rowdy. Preds games were always pretty fun.

You know what, now that you mention it, it was against Tampa.

I am certainly part of the problem here. I wanted to like hockey, as I hate the gap between football and baseball season. Just this year, the Thrashers literally gave away free tickets to people that "liked" them on Facebook. I grabbed 4 tickets and went to my first game. When we got there, we were absolutely shocked that there must have been less than 5,000 people there. The "announced" attendance and the number mentioned above must be "sold" tickets and reflect all the season ticket holders that don't go to the games. There was absolutely NO atmosphere whatsoever. We go to tons
